    Alvin Crow was one of the many acts that had played at the Armadillo World Headquarters which opened in1970 and closed in 1980. This is part of a three day event that celebrated the AWHQ.

    Thank you so much for reminding me of so many amazing Austin music memories!! At the AWC we spent more on beer and nachos than the cover - what a bargain!

    Didn't see this concert, but I did see them when I lived in Austin. Love our Amarillo boys. i think it was at Sons of Herman's Hall, yes I guess it was in Dallas. You gotta love that smile.

      Sons of Herman Hall , awesome little venue. A good friend drove Alvin's bus for a couple years.

    Stevie Ray called Ricky Crow both his friend and one of the best guitar pickers that he had ever heard

      You got that right... one of the best. I worked with Rick from 1974 to 1979, and intermittently since then. He's still picking but he's a hard dog to drag off the porch.
