Happy belated, Rich! Love your vids! Have suffered w/petite mal epilepsy since 13-14 or so, so I can empathize w/the pain of Zack's passing! BUT have NEVER limited myself as to what am able to do.
As have gotten older, episodes have diminished & have been fewer/further between! Again, happy belated birthday from 808 fan. BTW....LOVE the Aloha/Hawaiian shirt....

It was the anthem of the european basketball championship in 1987 when Greece beat the Soviet Union 103-101 in the final in Athens with player Nikos Galis (among other great ones). He was accepted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on September 9, 2017 (one of the very few basketball players from around the world, that joined without having ever played in the NBA). That win lifted Greek basketball from relative obscurity, to global power status, making it the No1 sport in Greece above foorball (soccer). I still say the guitar solo on Europe - Superstitious is one of the best rock guitar solos of all time. Different guitar player though, The Final Countdown the guitarist was John Norum, and by the time Superstitious was out Kee Marcello was on guitar.
The synthesizer sounds like it's set on a combination of french horn and trombone!
Happy Birthday from the Netherlands! I've recently discovered your channel and I love the musical journey you're sharing with us. This is maybe not my favourite song now but I do have fond memories: 1986 was the year I started to discover that there was so much more amazing music outside my little bubble, thanks to my late cousin who I looked up to so much. When I saw Europe for the first time on TV as a 10 year old I was in awe of their hair and I happily sang the misheard lyrics, confusing 'Venus' for 'peanuts' and 'seen us' for 'sinas' (a Dutch orange soft drink). I still hear it... (^_^)
During the Detroit Pistons games in the 90's , they used the intro of the song at the beginning of every game at home games.

Oh man what a great tune. The music critics just savaged Europe from one end of the earth to the other during their brief heyday but nobody gave a damn (that loved these guys). No offense but the New Messiah cover sucks the life right out of this song. Much prefer the original for several important reasons, not least of which, being the drumming, sometimes *LESS is MORE.
*The double kick has become an overused, abused cliche.

I can understand your opinion although I'm hoping most at least dont think we "sucked the life out of the song". Hopefully you check out some of our other stuff and hear something you like. Cheers!
