Boy, this song is even better than I remembered. Nash and Eddie: they tried to lead a revolution and their contemporaries didn't have a clue. ("Revolution came and went today," as Nash sings...) At any other time in rock history, these guys would be Jagger and Richards. Or Bacharach and David. But, funnily enough, they seem to be in a happy place at the moment. And they deserve to be. Last of the rock gods. You still inspire.
@Grace4You I'll buy that. But it *might* have helped if dear old Urge had rehearsed properly before big gigs like their Conan appearance (which I attended) and other marquee moments where the spirit of Stull might have led them ever so slightly astray. Even the Stones in their early days made sure they could play the licks before going on Ed Sullivan-even if Keith was a little fumble-fingered on the Last Time riff. In short, worldwide fame earned the Stones the right to play sloppy drunken (or worse) gigs later in their career. But yes, you're right. Luck has much to do with it, and the Men of Urge did not get as much of that as they deserved. SATURATION remains the finest album of that era, or any era.
I hate when I find the entire catalog of a band, only it's 20 years too late. I loved Sister Havana on the radio back in '93, never investigated the band any further than that. 2017, and through the wonders of You Tube, I find how incredible these guys were on every cut. Great songs, great guitars, great rhythms, and great vocals from both of these dudes. UK, if you somehow come across this, my apologies. Heading to iTunes to pick up a couple of CDs. Best to you.
Corporate radio dictators wanted these guys to fail so they ignored all singles on "Exit the Dragon" American radio sucks. Its killed the careers of so many talented artists. Mother f--kers. Having said that, Geffen Records could have picked a better lead single to promote this album . I'm not quite sure if this was the 1st single or the 2nd single..
Awesome. They filmed this at The Bank (Urge HQ) and invited the homies from the neighborhood to take part and it looks like everyone was having a good time!
Those “homies” were the gang that ran the neighborhood. While on tour the band “ liaison” broke in and took their basement recording setup. We had to cancel a show and fly the band back to “negotiate a release”. Good riddance. Gentrification of Humbolt Park successful
Such clever lyrics crying shame got no air play bar songs that were 1 or 2 my friends didn't know who they were but enjoyed all song especially with exit the dragon album😢
Thanks for the post it, love it. I met the band after a show. I asked Nash why they always wear white pants in videos. He replied "but not after labor day". I laughed my tail off. Funny guy, great musicians, the epitome of "cool". Love exit the dragon, & saturation.
These guys are honest as fuck. Love em since the first time I layed my hands on both Saturation and Exit the Dragon many years ago. Never had the priviĺege to see them live. Shit...
They used to play this song a lot on one of my local radio stations (in Australia) in the mid 1990s. Then they stopped.. Same with "Misery" by Soul Asylum and "In The Meantime" by Spacehog.
hopefully you have Urge Overkill's "Rock n Roll Submarine" Great album, wish they'd make another, one of the best and underrated rock bands of all time...
I love Melbourne Australia. Chicago has the best food just stay out of celebrity named eateries. Urge Overkill may be the best rock band out of Chicago.
Cool! Looks like they threw a good party for the set. I had this album on heavy rotation through high school but only now saw the video. Funny to think at that time I didn't know what a cell phone was yet. That thing is HUGE.
Carmen Garcia I’m 42 yrs old. I don’t remember seeing anyone with a cell phone in 1995. Cell phones were extremely rare back in 1995. I live super close to Manhattan and grew up in the city. Even amongst the Wall Street big shots, cell phones were rare.
Dean I'm 46 now and the block cell phone was the big thing back then! 😆😆😆😆 I had a great time with the band and it was definitely something I will never forget.
@@carmenjgarcia15 That's very interesting! I guess you were 22 at the time they filmed the video. Seems like you had a great time too. I guess the video was filmed late Spring/early Summer of 96. It probably took all day film and choreograph the video. Making a video can be a time consuming project. Well it seems everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves making it.

Yes, it’s low in the mix but it’s in there. During the verse it plays basically the same thing as the guitar, but during the chorus you can hear it walking around.
@TheFylup True dat! I got Saturation for .99!! Plus it's good to go support yr local hole in the wall record store, they need it. Or it'll be a Starfucks tomorrow. All I do know, supposedly their old records are out of print, so If you find one, pounce on that!!

what a great album this was! Such a pity it doesn't get any airplay on today"s radio???
Or yesterday's radio 😢

Better late than never, better late, than never. It's like a christmas gift when you discover a band like these guys.
I've found so many bands this way. In the 90s you had to rely on the radio. Now there's YT and a whole world has opened up.
Corporate radio dictators wanted these guys to fail so they ignored all singles on "Exit the Dragon"

Exit the Dragon is one great album.
one of the best of the 90s
is in my top5 eversince.

In beautiful Humboldt Park Chicago

Man, Urge is so underrated that it's depressing.
@Jom James Or 3 Months
not by me. no.

The drums in the chorus ❤
Blackie is one of my faves too
love this song and esp. the vid...I imagine its a real Chicago vibe although I've never been there. Peace from Melbourne, Australia

It is totally. Humboldt Park, Chicago.
I love Melbourne Australia. Chicago has the best food just stay out of celebrity named eateries. Urge Overkill may be the best rock band out of Chicago.
Great song --- kind of sad you don't hear it anywhere on the airwaves these days.
That's OUR secret! lol
I had a great time in this video! I'm the girl on the cell phone, 6 months pregnant! Wow!!

0:28 Chrissie Hynde! Love this band.
RIP Blackie

@@MikePado Blackie Onassis passed last year. June 2023
That guy who commented about finding this song by mistake while looking for the metal band Overkill: Hilarious.
This is what I really looking for😂

That shirtless kid dancing at 2:57 is the best.

I'm a proud fcking owner of this C.D.!!!
thank you jack black for reccomending this
Nothing from a schoolboy taught me right from wrong
Education's dead
I knew the answers, but had all the questions wrong
In somebody's head they said
I didn't see it happen
I didn't have a clue
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
In somebody else's body when I was someone else instead
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
When you're in somebody else's body in someone else's bed
A revolution came and left today
Nobody knew
It came and went, and so did Judgment Day
It's really nothing new
I didn't read the papers
I didn't watch the news, no
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
In somebody else's body when I was someone else instead
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
When you're in somebody else's body in someone else's bed
Ooh, baby, you are everything to me, but sometimes I need more
Ooh, and lately it seems the more I get the more I just keep lookin' for
So tell me what's the use
So tell me now, tell me what the use is when it's over
It's over, it's over when you're
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
In somebody else's body when I was someone else instead
In somebody else's body with someone else's head
When you're in somebody else's body in someone else's bed
But it's over when you're
In somebody else's body with someone else's head, oh
When you're in somebody else's body when someone else is dead
They can't tell it's me
No, no, no
Sounds too much like a Kinks tune. still enjoy it.
I thought the same the first time I heard the rhythm guitar, but still one of my favorites from UO... beautiful song!
Is there a bass in this song ? ( They seem to perform without a bass-player)
Yes, it’s low in the mix but it’s in there. During the verse it plays basically the same thing as the guitar, but during the chorus you can hear it walking around.
