Really enjoying having this one on the shelf, but The Chinquapin One is my favorite of the non-turbo trio with its cinnamon and spice on top of that sweetness. Tried these alongside a bunch of other good bottles at a Highland Festival here in California recently and these two were the standouts for me that day.
They are all hitting the US now, and all at the same price. Perfect video--a 4 way lineup! Im going to take your advice. I like that the sherry is in there but not taking the lead.
Nice video! I had samples of the first 3, but not from the Turbo! As always Glenallachie did a brillant job - the tend to be a bit hot at first, everything is about time in the glass - after 30-45 minutes they are great. My favorite is the Chinquapin!! I will buy a bottle - here in my market for EUR 47.-
They all sound great which I'm not surprised if Billy Walker attaches his name on it. That 4 year old Future release was the harbinger of these :) I would be most interested in trying the Chinquapin and the Turbo. Thanks for these Vin, cheers!
The Turbo is expensive and very difficult to get hold of here in Germany (€150-200 700ml) I have just ordered "The Sherry one" for €50,also 700ml. Can't wait to try now after watching this.Cheers Vin 👍
Was that the wife on the motorbike at the end ! Interesting to hear what these ones are like. When they came out the one that interested me the most was the Turbo , but didn’t see it available anywhere. Might pick up one of the other ones in due course.
I have seen turbo on sale for over £100. I think there could be different versions in the future maybe based on how the different versions go this time.
Hey great review, it does seem to be having mixed reviews maube thats just the nature of peated whisky. There were only 2500 bottles of turbo so didnt really last antime at all, maybe that was done to create a bit of a buzz. Going back to something you discussed before about neck pour, i ha thought it really only ecperienced tasters that would pick that up. With the chimquapin one i didnt like at all first pour. It sat in glass for bit and gave it some disapproving glances and it really improved. I had some last night and really enjoyef it but had something else first so maybe that helped. glad i bought it but at that price point id be more likely to try one of the others before replacing this one. Could see me keeping one of them in rotation but not all three.
The turbo is a shame, easily the best one and will likely be in high demand for next year's batch. Your experience with the chinquapin is interesting too, as I only tried a (albeit large) sample I can't get the true bottle experience. And I totally agree on the rotation. There really is no reason to have all four of these at once
Thanks for the great video! You mentioned you've recently become a big fan of the mixture of PX and peat, do you have a favorite or could you give a recommendation?
A tough call! They both have their merits. The Turbo is a more robust and balanced dram but the Gleann has high ABV on its side! I would probably prefer the Turbo more often though
Amazing what a little hype will do. The Turbo goes for 250 here, and the rest for 42... hahahaha Billy Walker has a great name, but not thát great a name. Besides, you could buy 2 bottles of McNair's Lum Reek 21yo and have money left over for that price! And that still carries the Billy Walker name.

Thanks for doing these ones Vin!
Thanks for shining a light on these whiskies, Vin.
Interesting stuff.
Slàinte mhath
Cheers Frank, happy to do the dirty work!
Honest, clear and fair reviews of these new releases. Congratulations to Billie Walker and his team and thanks Vin. Kindest regards, S.

There's some great value in there for sure. And certainly for different profiles for all peat fans!

Sipping on the Chinquapin now, enjoying it a lot

Turbo Sold out. Need to wait another year
Yeah it's a real shame. Definitely one to keep an eye one
Managed to try the Turbo at The Bon Accord last Saturday. Hits Sweden this month, so might pick that one up if available 🤔 😁
If you can get it, I'd say it's definitely worth a shot

In all the hundreds of videos I've recorded I've never had to stop for such a noise! What a din!

£100 is far too much

The Glasgow 1770 peated is probably my favourite at the moment
If Turbo was only made up of 8 casks, it's no wonder it already sold out.
Yeah it was a much smaller release than the others. Hopefully there will be more next year
Between Meikle Turbo and Torabhaig allt gleann batch strength which is your favorite?
