- What The HECK did I just ride? Here are my thoughts & review of Cedar Point's New Top Thrill 2. The World's TALLEST & FASTEST Triple Launch Roller Coaster! First off, Zamperla did a fantastic job with the re-imagining of Top Thrill 2... I am impressed... But how does Top Thrill 2 stack up against Top Thrill Dragster?
I share what I loved about Top Thrill 2 and what I didn't like. I also tell you about the two elements on the ride that are in my opinion, the best coaster elements that you will find at Cedar Point.
Cedar Point created one of the most fun roller coasters that you will ever ride in Top Thrill 2!

Thank you for mentioning the ADA line problems, as someone who has epilepsy, it infuriates me to see that people are abusing this. The whole reason I have to use it is because if I had a seizure in the queue, it is much harder to get to me, and they would probably have to shut operations down for a second. Things have to change. I actually complained about that today, and park operations said that they are aware and are monitoring the situation.
Exactly. It’s not fair to you at all. And other that need it.
That's messed up. This world is going to hell.
Completely agree! The ADA line was about 250 people deep at one point. Insane.
I was wondering what all those people were waiting for at the exit with those white papers. I thought those were people with ride vouchers from earlier as there was a massive line for SteVe as well. That’s disposable that people are abusing this.
I have epilepsy as well... I've never even used the pass and I was thinking about getting it this year.
I began watching your channel religiously in 2023, as you were predicting what the new ride would be like. This was the first coaster I followed the construction of, and to see people hype this ride up so much, I can't wait to ride. I'm Aussie so your theme parks aren't super accessible to me, but I'm coming to the US next year and this ride is so high up my bucket list!
Thank you! It was a blast and you will love it :)
It was great meeting you Brandon! Really appreciated our time in the Millennium Force queue. That clip of TT2 at Millennium, I literally saw you record that lmao. Great video btw!
It made our day to see our photo with you included in your video! (Jason, Mel, and Kellen) We were like little kids at Christmas when we watched your review. Fantastic review and spot on! We can see how genuinely in awe you were with the new TT2 at our home park. Wishing you an amazing coaster season ! 😃
You guys as well! Thank you for making my day better :)
I wanted to say thanks for stopping to talk with me and the family on opening day. My daughter zoey (the one you made pinky promise she will ride tt2) was excited when I told her you would be there. So when we saw you near the farmhouse she had to run over and say hi. She was excited she got to meet both you and your alias George lol. Thanks again and she will do her best to keep that promise by the end of the summer.
We were in line behind your group at opening. I don’t go up and talk to people like that but there were some many RUclipsrs and such.
Gonna hard disagree on the spiral being the same. It’s way different and a highlight. These trains sit much higher so there are crazy lats in an airtime lat combo that wasn’t there before. It’s basically “under heartlined” now. I’ve done 9 rides so far and I did one hands up the whole time and ended up in the seat next to me. Totally insane element that took me by surprise.
It may be my new #1. It’s that good.
Agree on the trains - you’re the only other one I’ve heard say that. We’ve had 4 blue, 3 black, and 2 silver. Silver had a noticeable shimmy that wasn’t there with the others. Everything will have a vibration at that speed but this was something different. Wasn’t bad and didn’t take away from the ride, but just noticeable.
Great review! So glad you liked it and you did a great job breaking it down! The air time at the top hat is amazing!!! Can’t wait to get my third ride in!
My group had 4 adults and 4 kids unter 48 inches in it. We sent 2 adults to ride TT2 with a parent swap (the swap didn't even had TT2 listed, but a ride op advised they would honor it). The ride had an advertised 1 hour wait. It took the two adults 3 hours to get on due to 4 break downs. After their ride was over, the ADA line was over an hour and a half long. Needless to say, I didn't get to use my parent swap as my kids were ready to leave for the day and I wasn't going to make them wait another 90 minutes. Such a shame so many people are abusing this.
Was waiting for you to drop this video. Love your content. Will be at Cedar Point the 3rd week of August. Can't wait to ride.
Im super excited to hear all of the positive reviews about TT2. I was not very optimistic at all about the project, but I'm happy to hear that it's a great successor.
You and me both! It really did blow me away!!!
@@TP_Recommendations I’m absolutely proud of what Cedar Point has done with the re-imagining of Top Thrill Dragster, kudos to them! 👏👏👏
@@TP_Recommendations
Me too!
I felt the same way. I'm really happy it turned out great.
You nailed it with the review. I just rode for the second time and was in row 9. Totally different than row 3. I can't wait to ride again!!!!!!
I fully agree with the ADA line it’s obnoxious and they need to for sure look into their policy.
Great review!! Top Thrill 2 looks absolutely incredible!! 🤩
Can't wait to ride soon! 🏁
Brandon truly is the best and DJ is a top notch person truly grateful to get to meet both in line at Maverick!
I'm surprised we didn't see you around on Saturday...although it was pretty busy! I'm the guy with the little girl that waited out most of the rain delay last year on Magnum one evening last fall... I think we were the only people in line that evening. 🙂
Great seeing you there, and catching a couple rides on tt2. I will say, I have already ate all my previous crap talking about the ride. I had to apologize to Antonio Zamperla himself at media day. Maybe we will catch up again at Carowinds next April.
I rode Top Thrill 2 today. Wow, its InsaneYou nailed the description of theride experience. I rode it with someone who I didn't know. We talked about the original dragster. He never got to ride. Once the first launch started the expletives started flying out of our mouths. I don't wear my glasses when I ride coasters I had my eyes shut most of time. The spike was fantastic and OMG that 3rd launch. You over the top hat and down the spiral at such speed. Since my eyes were shut it was so disorienting it felt like I was flipping upside down on the spiral. It was intense.
Thanks for mentioning glasses. I'm going to get a strap for my glasses because my glasses will protect my eyes from the wind and allow me to catch the view
It was great meeting you again Brandon. I'm taking my soon to be 15 year old son Alex to Cedar Point this weekend. He used to call Dragster a "one horse pony", instead of a "one trick pony"...I guess it's now a "three horse pony! lol I received a survey from CP today about my recent visit. I complained about filling too many trains with all Fast Lane Plus people and all the people using the ADA passes with no proof clogging the exits. They will soon realize they are creating a monster that keeps getting worse and will have to address it.
Yes they do need to address it!
I’m visiting in June for the first time ever from the uk! I am so excited for all the rides! Especially tt2 though! And SteVe! Been watching vlogs for months! Thanks for a great video!
Great video as always. Happy for Zamperla. Love the family aspect of the company and the drive to be the best. They're Italian but really that story is an American Dream. Good for them hope they take over the Coaster world.
Well they failed
I was extremely skeptical, and bummed, because Dragster's launch was incredible. After seeing the POVs that the top hat looks even better than before and that the ride carries the same speed for even longer I'm excited for this new iteration!
Thankfully, he mentioned the first launch. I was concerned it would ruin it, now I am SUPER excited to ride it!
@eddieholt8222 it's literally insanity. The reverse launch to the spike is unreal!
Great review Brandon!! I can’t wait!!
Best coaster I’ve ridden in a good minute
Great saying hi during ERT on Saturday!! Hope to see you again in the future
Glad you enjoy it. I cant wait to come here for the first time next month.
Awesome video! Happy you got 4 rides! I was there for passholder preview, we got the silver train, rows 2 and 3 at night. I didn't notice a rattle, but it's probably because we were at the front of the train? Anyway, I agree, it blows the original out of the park. Also, I have anxiety disorder and had to take a couple nips of whiskey before getting in line lol! Can't wait to ride again. Thank you for an awesome review!
Love it! Thanks for sharing this! Glad you got got some rides in!
That's what i said too .they need 4 trains..at least 3 running every day💯💯🔥🔥but if sliver already have problems thats not good...and also dont get me started on lockers.."they said they didnt have time"" to install..which is the biggest pile of crap..they were testing the ride on my bday..in December...ummm ok 👌👌🤦🤦🤦but anyways love your Chanel..keep up the amazing work..now it's our time..lets hope we finally get that's long awaited invert..its been 20 years 💯💯🎤🎤🎤..oh and tony hinted..2025 has been signed..soooo👌👌👌
Was able to get 2 laps yesterday (5/6), Amazing ride that is just a lot of fun! Great job to both Zamperla and Cedar Point.
When standing in line and seeing it roll back, my first thought every time was crap it's down. I can't tell you how many missed rides that I had over the years with TTD. It's such a breath of fresh air to see this ride running all day (didn't see any down time yesterday).
can’t wait to ride. Thanks Brandon.
The spiral almost broke my back today lol. I'm a veteran from the beginning, but keeping my arms up on this ride is borderline dangerous dangerous. It was funny but not really.
Excited to watch this!
I can’t wait to ride it this summer
Spot on review and the most in-depth one I've seen. Hopefully, Cedar Point gets that rattle out of the silver train!
Thank you my friend.
Wow I love the view of the spike from Millennium’s queue, that’s gonna be fun to watch
Gotta be honest, missed your voice and seeing your daily videos, you definitely left a void on RUclips.
Welcome back!
I'm so glad to hear that everyone is really enjoying the new experience. Hoping to get up there in the next week or so. There's been a bunch of conversation on reddit about the ADA situation. As I understand it, Cedar Point can't legally ask anyone to prove *why* they need it. I really worry about it the same way you do; people who need it shouldn't be getting punished because others are abusing it.
Hopefully they adopt Six Flags program as it reduces the abuse involving a 3rd party company, even though it can still be abused by cheaters it makes it much more difficult.
I don't know what Six Flags uses but Universal and I think Disney as well , have moved to a third party system .
@@Heatherofscots Six Flags has been using the company universal just switched to for many years now.
Yeah that Ada line was nuts! 11:24
Looking forward to Rollercoaster rodeo in June. Hope you can make it this year.. and I'm hoping to go experience TT2 in August.
I will be at RCR :)
Hey Brandon😇 TT2 in the House.
Enjoyed chatting with you in the Maverick station on Sunday morning. You asked me about where TT2 ranked in the park for me and I said #2 behind SV because I hadnt digested it yet.
Well, we rode it 4 more times Sunday and they were all just as tasty as they were on Saturday. After digesting, I now believe TT2 is #1 in the park. I might be wrong. That's ok if I am.
Every part of it the ride is outstanding. Even the first launch was better than I was expecting. And that airtime on the tophat... you have to be going 130+ mph up that thing. The airtime is legit up there.
Had my doubts on Zamperla as well and I'm beyond thrilled they proved us doubters all wrong! This coaster is top notch and every enthusiast needs to be making their travel plans to Sandusky, OH.
My two cents on ADA: Don't let them on the ride immediately and then wait whatever the wait time is before they can ride AGAIN. Stop making it a free Fast Lane pass and make them wait the stand by wait time BEFORE they ride. It used to be this way and I don't understand why it's not. If they want to ride immediately then they should have to have Fast Lane imo. There is NO REASON they should ride before waiting. If they started doing that it would cut down on the abuse that is obvious to everyone.
And GO LIONS!!! 🦁😉
As someone who uses and needs the accessibility pass here is what happened to me on TT2. The line is at the exit and last Sunday the wait for the handicap was about 45 mins compared to the regular line which was 2 hours. They send us in as groups of 2 or 4 depending on your party and we get rows 5 and/or 6 every time. My pass is void for the entire wait time of 2 hours once I'm checked in to TT2 just before riding. They will also hold small items like they do on Steve so that is nice.
THANK YOU for finally saying something about the ADA abuse at cedar fair parks. Its not just a CP thing. Its a CF thing. They NEED to adopt the six flags system.
I visited the park during the previews (both Coastermania and Gold Pass!) and I got five rides on it. Thought it was absolutely amazing and it thoroughly impressed me that Top Thrill 2 managed to somehow be both its original self and a totally different ride, all in one.
Going at the end of July. Gonna try to hit this first thing in the morning and use fast lane plus for a night ride. I loved Dragster more than Ka because it was faster iver the top hat and the spiral was more intense than Ka. When I saw the speed it was going over the top hat in testing videos I got so excited. After seeing reviews I'm even more hyped. Can't wait to get back to CP it's been 24 years.
I've never ridden either. I would love to one day. One can dream. 😊
One improvement..... I know they don't want to chance any items in pockets but some vending machines in the queue line would be nice especially drinks. Even with the fans on it was hot under there on a cool 65 degree day. Crank that up to 85 or 90 and you will have people pass out. Also, Porta pottys would be helpful for the 2+ hour waits 😂
I believe the first launch is done to prevent the ride from hitting the upward spiral.
When this coaster is running right, it's really fun to watch, ride after ride circling the track! There is no other ride in the park that is as efficient.
Its really an amazing coaster. One of the best experiences out there!
Hey Branden, question, how did you get the set of top thrill to wheels behind you? I’ve been trying to find a set of top thrill two wheels to display for months, and I can’t find any. If you could give me any info or link to a set of wheels, like you have behind you, I would greatly appreciate that.
Ah man, I was there this weekend doing my pictures, and I missed you. I would have loved to meet you.
Actually, I think I did meet you once at Carowinds but in passing.
Next time Justin! Sorry
I wasn’t able to ride TTD but TT2 omg it was INCREDIBLE!! The airtime on the top hat was… insane
DJ has some righteous hair
I hope to be able to ride it someday.
You can not compare the original to the new one with 1 element. Going 0-120 in 4 seconds was UNREAL. With that being said… the new reimagining of Top Thrill is unbelievable! I personally think it’s better than the original outside of the old 0-120 in 4 seconds. The 3 launches are incredible and that spike got me to say “OH SH!T” I love this new version! Zamperla knocked it out if the park for sure! Can’t wait to ride it all season and for years to come! Hoping to go with my son on Friday to hit some coasters.
I literally walked onto TT2 today (Monday) with my Fast Lane Plus, I couldn't believe it. I rode the black train, on the final launch it was sort of wobbling. I think it was due to the wind but it really scared me, lol. I never got a ride on TTD so I am not sure if that is normal or not.
I look at it like this. You get launched in reverse at 102mph but from when you stall on the spike to the 3rd launch, youre not going over 100mph anymore so the 3rd launch is way stronger than people think. Legit ride.
Sort of the crowning jewel of CP converting its less popular/reliable coasters over to crowd pleasers. Now that they have shored up their lineup it’s time to move into new frontiers.
Aye I made the video thanks Brandon!!!
Looks so good! Really wish they added another 80 ft to the top hat. That would have been so Epic!
How busy do you think it will be on may 10th at the point
I think CP should give people a time slot to ride on TT2 it would distribute more people throughout the park back when millennium opened you would line up get a hand stamp with a time and wait an hour instead of waiting 4 hrs there’s a lot of things we could do but we are not in charge and free lockers
The employees said it's a 90 minute wait once past the metal detection? We had a solid 2 hours then with breakdowns it took us 3. It might be 90 later if there are less people in fast lane and ada but not right now.
I rode it yesterday and we waited prob 60-75 minutes with maybe like 2 of the wrap around in the back not filled. They were really pushing trains through fast
That 270 spin is intense.
Hey! I know who took that video! Love it
cant wait to go in july :DDD
When i saw Brandon start smiling, i knew it going to be a good ride.
LOL
I did my ride on May 1st Brandon.
I'll be there June 1st and Second. I live in the UK and this will be my first ever visit and I cannot wait.
Baby I'm ready to go!!!!!
P.s.
I'll be riding HYPERIA on opening day also , I feel absolutely spoilt this year.
It looks like a fantastic coaster and really hoping to get to ride it sometime soon! (U.K. based)
Curious as you said only the silver train had a rattle. Other than the color, I wonder what is different about that train that it’s the only one with a rattle
Hey Brandon! Have you had the chance to ride the Wooden Coaster at PlayLand in Vancouver? That thing is legitimately terrifying!!
I have not! Need too
I hope you get to! Maybe you’ll get there this summer or next !!
Yeah the ADA issue at Cedar Point is huge. I go almost weekly and sometimes the ada line is longer than the normal line in wait time. Millenium is the worst because every other train gets ADA, and they always choose the front, so the front takes a genuine another hour to ride because if there is on average 10 groups ahead of you, its really 20, and a dispatch time of every 2 to 3 minutes thats another 40 minutes to an hour for the front fucking row, its BS.
Lol...I knew you would like this. I always felt this would provide more elements to make you forget about the original launch.
Back row is gonna be epic!
I've got to admit TT2 is much better than I anticipated!
I wish CP would have made the new protective wall in the station out of something see through like wire mesh so those on the platform could watch the trains fly through the station.
My girlfriend is considering going to Cedar Point this year but she has MS. Would you consider that worthy of an ADA pass?
Edit: She didn't get one at Kennywood last year and had some problems waiting in the longer lines like the Exterminator.
Looks like its leaving the straight track going 120 whereas dragsters launch cable ended much sooner? That airtime looks so good up there. And the 100 to 120 straight track is awesome. Nowhere else on earth can you enjoy going that speed for that amount of time on a straight track.
Only got to ride it once on preview day but absolutely loved it.
As far as ADA pass. I could technically get one due to ADHD and Autism, but I have the means to get FLP so I do that and let the people that need it and cannot afford it a better chance. I do know of people that do abuse it and it sucks because I love the fact that CP understands that not all disabilities are visible, but I feel they will have to have actual proof in the future.
You’re a good man 🙏🏻❤️
It was hard to keep your hands up, I ended up bent 90 degrees forward and sideways. It was fun, I think they made the right decision by keeping it
The ADA pass was very overcrowded. The one train that had ADA was just 1 group, not the entire train. I do agree most of the people in the ADA line were abusing it. As a father of a son with autism it made it so we could only use it one time each day at opening. Beyond that the ADA wait itself was over an hour all weekend...
Brandon..here's a question you may want to ask Tony Clark..
He said the next coaster would top SteVe . Is this it or is it yet to come.
I thought the whole lightning train couldn't go down, it was sounding like the seat that causes issues they can remove it and continue the run. But a red train would be sweet
The abuse of the ADA across many parks in Cedar Fair is bad. It's a joke at Knott's. I don't know what the answer. For the record my daughter is autistic and can't do long lines in enclosed spaces and virtually never get a disability pass. Hope they figure out a solution to this in the future. Glad the ride is a hit. i new the backwards launch and spike was going to be underrated going in as Superman backwards at 100 mph is so much fun. You guys just have the rest of the ride that we don't. lol
So the original was known to travel 120 mph. TT2 is advertised at 120 mph. From the first video of Tony Clark riding it, you could see the train flying over the top hat...so was the original not really 120 mph? Or is TT2 more like 122/123 mph?
i think i saw you walk past me while i was by the exit ramp, didn’t get a chance to talk to you though sadly
Oh bummer!!! Next time :)
As a Holiday World employee, I am surprised to hear about the accessibility problems here.
I mean I am autistic but I don't even think about getting an accessibility pass even if I apply. I don't want to take it away from people who really need it like those in wheelchairs.
However at Holiday World normally we have one special needs rider every minutes and that is fine.
1 rider every 30 minutes doesn't mess with ride operations.
For the accessibility line to be over an hour thirty minutes means either all of the disabled enthusiasts in the world went to Top Thrill 2's open few days or people are taking advantage of the system.
Yeah it was very bad
as far as the ADA pass, my nephew is severely autistic so my brother and sister in law get it because of him. it allows up to 4 people in a party to use the ADA line. My nephew doesn't ride any of the big coasters so we will take turns with who rides and who sits with my nephew. they also put a time limit on the pass, so if the ride line is 45 minutes, you don't get to take advantage of the ADA pass for another 45 minutes. you are still waiting, you just wait after. it's not like a fast lane where you can just keep skipping lines to your heart's content
I have to have the Accessibility pass and it was awful this weekend. They need to do what Universal has done. They require a doctor note approval through a third party site just like Six Flags Parks do. Disney is going to do something similar starting in June.
I’m sorry you had to wait extra long and deal with this. 😞🎢
Creative solution.
The spike completely takes the show for me. See, I realized that I went into this ride expecting something along the intensity of I-305. I really wanted to feel the force on these launches and it just isn't doing it for me. The second and third launches I can forgive for not really feeling those LSMs kick in as they are unique but the first launch is pathetic. They need to accelerate the train to that 74mph faster. At least with the 3rd drop, you get the -9.8 m/s^2 from earth's gravity, but imagine if they stuck LSMs on the spike like Mr Freeze. Kingda Ka just became a huge bucket list ride that I must now get this year. As for Dragster, I will be riding it alot this summer. It is a really fun and enjoyable ride, but as far as smashing into my top 5, its not doing it for me. Perhaps if they kept the Intamin Trains and upped the acceleration on that first launch.
Cedar Point should test Merlin’s new ADA system. There’s basically a limit so only a certain number are in that queue at a time. It will cut queues when Hyperia opens on the 24th. Also, Merlin don’t tend to offer fast track in the first year of operation of a new ride
As a disabled I agree with you on the ADA pass situation. I was at Busch gardens, Tampa, when these two guys were bragging about getting it, and they didn’t even have a disability. That’s also why Dollywood had to change there’s because people were abusing it . That’s why I joke about how the pass there is the best advertisement for the fast pass. Which is very sad because it brought more frustration then help.
I’m Going In The Summer!!! 🎢🤩
I guessed zamperla when everyone was saying intimin.
I get on the freeway same speed but quicker then TT2 first launch before I'm at the end of the on ramp
🙄
Hey Brandon thanks 👍 for your videos and keep up the great work have a question how much cedar point put Into the ride to make it top thrill 2
Thank you! No one really knows, all that i was told was the park got offers from multiple companies but went with Zamperla since it was the cheaper option.
I would guess around 10 mil. But I could be way off.
I’ve been begging for a Cherry Red Train since Day 1!!!
Hope Zamperla set up a Humble Pie stall at Cedar Point.
Zamperla the favorite for the CW 2025 project now?
so what i'm gathering is tt2 is essentially an up charge attraction since you're not allowed to keep your phone and there are no free lockers. This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to stop being an enthusiast bc these amusement parks just want to nickel and dime you however they can.
