I got my first boat in 1974 and it had an old 50 hp Jonhson and since then all my boats had O M C products all the way to my E-tec, so I am very sad to see that the best outboards in the world are gone....
I am kind of not surprised in a way. But I am sad. They should have pivoted to 4 stokes 5-10 years ago like everyone else probably. But what do I know?
@@CaptPeterson Not sure why, as they proved the 2 stroke etec was far superior in every way. I bought my etec about 3 years ago after long deliberation. Most of my boating friends just went with the crowd saying 4 stroke engines are better and that 2 strokes were obsolete. So BRP pivoting to 4 stokes because of consumer perception maybe? If they did ever make a comeback to boat engines whether or not they are 4 stroke or another they proved that 2 strokes did have a place on the back of a modern boat so I can only imagine how an Evinrude 4 stroke would turn out. End of an era but I really hope the Evinrude story continues.
@@CaptPeterson they should have bought some boat brands when they bought evinrude, that was the huge mistake they made. These 2 strokes are great motors and I wouldn't trade mine for a truck load of 4 strokes
Suggestion for Evinrude in applying the power steering option using the digital tiller handle for the 90Hp HO or future model 90 hp. Thanks!@@CaptPeterson
Think of all the development that may have gone up in smoke. Lets hope this all american motor will be saved. If only they had made a more reliable emm.
Evinrude is NO MORE_ what a total disappointment - had a 200 HO on order and cancelled it right away after Evinrude made the decision to stop production- SO - not a good thing to do- what a way to ruin the name of a great ob - BRP should be ashamed - I will never buy another BRP product period - after all maybe they will decide to shut other product lines down too -- SO _went with a new 2020 Merc 200 HP_ So long EvInrude
Yeah it’s a sad day in history. They are keeping the patents so who knows maybe they will bring it back. I feel like they just used covid to lay off people without taking the wrap for it.

I hope Evinrude can start up again producing this motors, it was not the covid that stopped them , it was the climatehysteric world we live in now..
That 140 looks sweet. Too bad they're not being produced anymore.
Right
@@CaptPeterson I found a site where they're still being sold though. At least there's hope.

God damm..G2 has to come back..just do the correct sensible marketing and dont live beyond your means.
Please do this in a 90hp
You mean ask Evinrude to make a 90HP with power steering?

That would be sweet! I will pass it on to them 💯.
