Dana is an incredible guest , so knowledgeable. Fun with a booming personality that shines through. You two had a great dynamic and this was a pleasure to watch 🙏
Sebastian I have always been a fan of yours, and then adding Dana is such a dream! A pair of expert, brilliant, Charming, graceful, Amazing and passionate geniuses! You should both work together much more often it is a delight for those of us following. Thank you both for what you call nerdiness and what I call Wit and passion.
I sure would like to see Dana do more with her RUclips channel. She is so knowledgeable and I would love the opportunity to learn as much as possible from her. This is a great video.
Truly one of the best videos you've ever produced. I'm highly biased though, because I love all fougeres and Tonka bean is near and dear to my heart. Your guest was magnificent - highly knowledgeable with plenty of factual information to back everything up. I did not know that it is alcohol, and not water that activates Tonka in perfumery. I do not like gourmand fragrances but at least I understand Tonka a lot better than I did before. Truly a wonderful video. You absolutely MUST have her back for another go. Only next time try a hearty Chianti. Ok. My vote is for a three - hour video on either oak moss or myrrh.
Another vote for more videos like this! I think for many of us fragrance is so much more then just buying a perfume and splashing it on. I like to be romanced with both the story of the notes and the artists who made them! I think most people who truly love perfumery really do want to learn all they can about the making of it! And I just love escaping into this exotic world andI say keep the educational videos coming!! I vote for musk video!
Bottom line - It's all about the money. Everything, all the time. Great video, you two are perfection together! Looking forward to your next collaboration!!! Thanks and take care, Ginny 😘😘😘 Resins would be great!
Every time i come across this video, I couldn't help but watch it in full. It's more than 7 times i've watched it. More Dana please. More nerdy stuff please. Love.
PSA: Coumarin is a chemical compound which is the precursor to Warfarin (an anticoagulation medication). Coumarin interacts and inhibits the synthesis of clotting factors dependent on vitamin K and therefore inhibits the body's ability to make blood clots causing internal bleeding and eventually death; this is how coumarin works in rat poison and it is not an allergic reaction. Coumarin acts in the same manner (to a lesser extend) in humans, so PLEASE if you are currently on any medications such as aspirin, warfarin, etc. for hypertension, diabetes, or any other disease, make sure to consult your primary care physician before consuming any product that contains coumarin such as Tonka beans. Thank you for another amazing video, incredibly informative as always 👍
it wouldn't be UNflowering of something it would be the ENflowering as to use flower as a verb...This has been a really informative video on one of my favourite fragrance ingridients
A Nose Knows nice try Dana! I nose you know it’s baseball. Like the way I inserted the grammatically incorrect nose for the northeastern colloquial way of talking circa 1930!? Lol indeed. Cheers! You guys make the greatest team in frag com period.
Tonka IS hepatotoxic but only in very high quantities. You'd have to eat like, 30 beans or more accurately, 1 gram of coumarin. Love this video, super interesting!
I learned about Tonka through hobby perfumery. When I was on vacation in Scotland in 2017, I had Tonka ice cream at a restaurant and fell in love with it. As I'm watching this, I'm eating homemade Tonka macarons.
Fantastic! resins, oak moss, musks, everything, YES! all of the above. (i guess if I must choose, in that order) Love your channel, I have dropped a lot of subs lately, but yours will never get the axe! Thanks for making continually interesting content, I definitely appreciate the effort.
I loved this!!!!❤️ you HAVE to do many more nerd videos. Please! I vote for resin or oak moss. I would also love to learn more about the extraction process of notes.
Such a fun and informative video! Thanks for doing this because I’m always looking to increase my understanding of what I’m smelling. Since it’s part of fougeres, oak moss
This is the type of videos I personally enjoy the most, Thank you very much for this. It’s absolutely wonderful !!! I vote for all notes.. just keep posting 👍👍👍
Love this so much! Thank you both! Dana is super cool! I love it all, and I love resins! I have a little sample of oakmoss. It’s so nice! Ok, now I really want to hang out in the kitchen, and cook with you, get buzzed on wine!
I would love if you did more of these types of videos, talking about the notes, history, and what these obscure ingredients are. More educational ones! That is so helpful and I like nerding out too :)
Incredibly interesting video and a great chemistry between you guys. It’s not heavy and bogged down with information. It’s playful and funny whilst being informative. Definitely will endorse a series with you both.
Dear Sebastian and Dana, Really intriguing and informative video about Tonka beans. Please can you do a video about resins. Dana is very intelligent and very charming guest. Great partnership between you. Cheers

Hope you will make the series and honestly I would like to hear more about musk. I am subscribed to both your channels so hope my vote will count twice... 😉😉😉😉🤗🤗🤗🤗
Just a quick note - even though this video is 4 years old, I just wanted to add an FYI that I didn't see covered in any of the existing comments. I believe Dana said that the tonka bean is "not a bean." It's true that its fruits are of the drupe type (like a cherry or peach) rather than a pod like peas or beans; but the tree (Dipteryx odorata) itself is a member the legume family (Fabaceae), which also includes peas and beans, clover, alfalfa, etc. along with a number of trees (locust trees, redbud, cassia, etc.) that produce various fruit types, including both drupes and pods.
Yoooo where is my parfumery degree? Damn this conversation between sebastian and dana really open my brain about parfume. Specially tonka bean. Why i just found this channel right now? Woow this is A QUALITY CONTENT!
Yes, yes, yes - do a resin video! I’m an uber nerd as well, and need to know more about them as I enjoy playing with my hundred+ pure essential oils to concoct my own resinous deliciousness. Nothing I find currently on the market satisfies me. Thank you for the nerdy videos! 😍😘👍🏼

This has to be your longest video but it's really informative. simply amazing.
I learned about Tonka through hobby perfumery. When I was on vacation in Scotland in 2017, I had Tonka ice cream at a restaurant and fell in love with it. As I'm watching this, I'm eating homemade Tonka macarons.

I love how your perfumes are in group by brand, not by scent type. It looks so satisfying :)
Do resins. That's a broad subject. Do florals afterwards, especially Rose.
I would love if you did more of these types of videos, talking about the notes, history, and what these obscure ingredients are. More educational ones! That is so helpful and I like nerding out too :)
