Got Dana into the studio recently and we discussed resins and balsams in perfumes. She's got so much knowledge on this topic so it was a given I'd invite her for this session especially since I'm such a fan of this subject matter so speaking and chatting with Dana and learning along the way about resins and balsams was so much fun. Could you cover the 3 lotus absolutes and difference between lily and lotus because some people think they are same.
i like her. She knows her resins. Videos like this are needed. Everyone does reviews but the public that like fragrances such as myself, would like to be educated on the subject of perfumery. More videos should be made on fundamental subjects about perfumery, such as what is an accord, how fragrances are made, what are the true costs to making a bottle of fragrance and making it popular, why some perfumes are much more expensive than others. These topics would be interesting to discuss in the fragrance community.not just the typical review.

I don't have a pro background in perfumery, but studied Bio/Chemistry for 4 years and I'm a #nerd all over, lol. Like, I read stats and Psychology Today and learn new languages and watch Attenborough for fun :)))

I am from somalia farncansen and myrrh trees grow in my home land we use it for trade,incense making, for medicinal purpose, prefumes and lot of other purposes francansen is more expensive than myrrh

I love anything with myrrh, probably my favorite fragrance note. I use to burn small pieces of myrrh in my apartment to relax - absolutely magnificent, but very expensive. Delightful and highly informational video. (Not a big fan of Frankincense.)

Guggul also is a resin from a tree of the same name used (burned) in rituals of Tibetan Buddhism.

I follow you for the fragrances but today I learned something new about my country, Greetings from Peru.

Oman is in Asia actually not Africa. i'm from Oman and frankincense here all come from the southern province (Dofar) and it's been used in every home across the country for centuries now for the purpose of perfuming the house and also it's believed to git rid of bad spirits and so on. it's a very lovely note in perfumes and i certainly enjoy it. i should also mention that Amouage is an Omani brand and they use a lot of Luban/frankincense in their perfumes and my absolute favorite on is Beloved Man.
Apologies if that's what was understood. I know exactly where Oman is, and have visited both UAE and Quatar in the area- which is why I called it "that part of the world", as opposed to Somalia/E Africa.
However, where I come from (Romania), we learn in geography classes that the Peninsula is a major area in and of itself, and usually don't bundle it with Asia but with the Middle East, which ends at the Eastern Iranian border (neither we do Turkey, which although called Asia Minor, is still not considered Asia). Have the conventions changed?
On a different note, I'd LOVE to look into the mystical aspects of incense... now, THAT would be a video to make.
@@anoseknows you're absolutely right people just say the middle east and they don't necessarily associate it with Asia when in fact it's in Asia and yeah i would love to watch you talk about incense it's a HUGE part of our culture and it would be very interesting to cover looking forward for that🥰
