Should be completely debt free home and everything by the end of this month and if not than for sure next month. Thank you dave and ramsey crew.
I went debt free this last year. It is exciting to not have anything but a monthly bill for utilities
@liquidsleepgames3661 yes now that we officially are debt free. It feels good. :)
For the caller with $40,000 missing. Never look back on ppl who have abused your trust. Learn from it and move forward, never look back. I hope he takes Dave’s help.
And no legally he cannot recoup that money. She was on the bank account which means she has access to the money legally. Technically she legally stole it, sorry man.
My wife and I dated, or were engaged for a total of 7 years. We waited until we finished college.
We are now married for 44 years and are baby step multi millionaires.
big up
my bro when u get a chance go youtube a video called - are you a good person by Living Waters
7 yrs engaged 😂
When Dave tells people to g wet married already and they come back with “well it’s too expensive” it costs like $30 to go get a marriage certificate at the courthouse. People care more about the wedding than they do the marriage
RIP to Ethan from Minnesota because Dave ripped you to shreds at 33:00 😆
You’re right Mr. Dave about praying for our leaders. Who better to change their lives and actions than God
The way Dave brought hope to the caller with the trucking business is why I drink his cool aid. God bless Ramsey.
Dave's advice is golden. We just have to believe and move forward with it.
2:00:00 always chuckle when superfans call in claiming Dave changed their lives and then not understand that lending 5k to loser family is not a good idea.
A marriage is completed when the certificate is signed. A ceremony is the party people picture in their head when they hear "wedding". Which one do you think the law cares about and which one does instagram care about?
It's so good to have some voices of reason in our chaotic world, thanks guys!!!
With help from Ramsey Solutions I'm making over 3x my living expenses this month and putting it to great use!! Well, I did fall off the bandwagon slight this month - but, I noticed it & will not repeat it for next month. Go me!!
Good for you 🎉keep putting yourself accountable and even if you fail, keep pushing yourself on the line so you wont be completely out of it so good for you!❤
Dave kills me when he calls the guys honey!!! It is Soooo funny to me. Dave is a grandpa 🫡🫡😂🤣
Dave gave George a heck of a introduction at the beginning of the show!! He's one of Dave's favorites!!
I dated my ex-husband for a decade before we got married and I didn't add him to my bank account until after we got married and I regret it so badly. He stole money from me and refused to get off the account that I had since I was 16 years old. Never again. I trauma around that and I will never allow someone access to my bank account again.
You chose to lie down with a dog, then you got fleas. Hold yourself accountable for choosing a bad partner.
@super1234567891011 No doubt I chose poorly. After 19 years, you don't expect a person to change as much as he did. I suppose we both changed and grew apart, but I would have never done that to him. I feel that I have integrity, and he was an ordained minister, so you would assume the same about him. He was just a snake, and I didn't find out until too late. Have the day you deserve. Thanks for trying to victim blame, I'm willing to bet you also claim to be a good Christian, lol.
Depending on where you live, it doesn't matter whose name is on an asset or account. Anything earned while you're married is considered a marital asset. Even if you hadn't put his name on the account, he would have gotten half at the divorce.
I'm sorry this happened to you. I was also married to a snake who played the long game. He also pretended to be a Christian.
@paigeharmon6354 cool, so your okay with a douche taking money out of a mutual account for cheating purposes
Great advice, Dave! Awesome show!
This show title is designed for me! Thank you.
Dave: Brush your teeth cuz you’ll want some later!
Me: 😮😂😂
TO BRADLEY: when you do put your foot down on no longer loaning family and friend money, pay attention to how they react to that. Including your wife. She might try to guilt and shame you for taking a stand. Those who are willing to take advantage of you don’t like it when boundaries are set.
I could not agree more and when you perform this experiment you find out who your true family and true friends are versus idiotic leeches with entitlement attitudes
When i was going to college i envisioned always working and living in my local community near my college. I just retired. I have worked now for 8 companies and in 9 different cities, in 7 different states.
Each time we moved, my wife and I looked at it as a new adventure. We have seen so much of our country via local travel, that we would not have had we stayed in one area.
There were many positives, as well as a few negatives along the way. But overall, I/ we do not regret our unexpected journey.
You sound like my former neighbors Bill & Judy.
Great show as always. Thank you guys!
Another great day papa dave

Blue light special. 😂😂so funny.

Dating about 8 yrs now. Dave : 😮
Fornicating since 2016. 😂
i soooo love how Dave is brutal on people that think that living while unmarried and combining income is okay. Its not. Who plays house anyways?"Not I", said the cat!
I can't wait till a man tells him I'm not your honey lmao😂
😂😂😂😂
Hahaha I’ve been thinking that first time I heard it lol
lol I think they know who they’re calling and wouldn’t mind
Why on earth did the guy have his girlfriend on his account where she could access his inheritance? This guy seems like he needs a LOT of life help in general. He needs to find a way to put restrictions on his inheritance to protect the money from himself if he has substance abuse issues- too easy for him to blow through this.
Something seems way off that he isn’t furious/kicking the girlfriend out. Sounds like his friend may be the reason he found out about the stolen money. Damn. Dude needs to take this as a life lesson to turn things around starting now!
1:34:55 He wasn’t unreasonable. He told her the truth and sometimes the truth hurts!
If you are interested, find out more about the "Nothing is Wasted" guy - he is super creepy and many people suspect him of hiring killers to murder his wife. There is a lot of evidence in official transcripts.
Another great show, thanks Papa Dave!
My favorite duo!!!
David's past addiction could be years in the past, months or weeks. As soon as I heard him mention "addiction", my mind immediately went thinking that he may be clean but is probably still associating with the same people he associated with while in active addiction. An addict's life doesn't just suddenly go back to normal when they quit using. Addiction has a way of driving away healthy relationships and leaving people with very unhealthy social circles. These social circles consist of people in a similar place in life. These people survive and use, use drugs, use people, use social programs, use each other, etc. As long as everyone is equally struggling, this social circle has a "support" feel to it. Once he inherited money, he became a target in a lot of his "friends" eyes. These friends will feel that they are entitled to some of it and he willing gave his girlfriend access.
He probably needs to break up with more than just his girlfriend.
Love that comment… “it’s not timing of the market… it’s time IN the market.”
19:07 This always sounds like a good idea at first... At least with a HYSA it sounds good to make 4.5% interest rather than paying a 3.5% mortgage off. What I've realized is that the 4.5% you earn is taxed at your normal tax rate (~35%). The amount earned ends up losing you money once it's added to earned income. Just pay the mortgage off, you save the extra few dollars every month!
The interest you've earned is taxed not the base amount so you can't go backwards lol.
Caller mentioned mutual funds. Closer to 10-12% return, and long term capital gain rate if he keeps it a year.
I didn't watch live, but I literally bought my rental townhome, negotiated and did it all--can be done!!!
It's the boyfriend who does they asking. If he hasn't ask her to marry him just move out.
Y'all are entertaining and informative, I love your vids!

8:19 😂LMAO!! I remember the blue light specials at K-Mart.
"Tell him this. My financial advisor said I'm a chapter 7 looking for a place to happen" 😂😅
@Amber. Whats wrong with just paying your bills? You made them. Why should the rest of us be responsible and you get let off the hook.
David from Minneapolis needs to get that THIEF out of his life. There's no way I would have been with her even one more day if I learned she had stolen from me. She either has a substance abuse addiction or she has some assets or cash that is recoverable. I don't buy her "I don't know where the money went" excuse. She knows, she just doesn't want HIM to know. It sounds like he is so down on himself because of his past addiction that he is willing to keep hanging out with a thief because he thinks he doesn't deserve any better. Get away from her! She's bad news. Unless he did something really boneheaded, like make it legal for her to access his account, I think I might tell her to return that money to me or my next call would be to the police.
30:30 My favorite line to a guy I was dealing with in this situation was "I know that I'm just a name on your spreadsheet that you look at every day. I know that you just need to put a checkmark next to my name. I have $X right now. Do you want it? If not, I'll be calling Toyota to pay my car off next week and I'm sure they'll be taking it. Let me know." - Just listen to the silence for a moment and force them to break it and speak to what you just said.
I politely disagree with Dave and George, it is important to make kids work for a house, not just give it to them. Even if you teach them hard work. There is something more important than money here. There is a sense of pride in paying off a home yourself, and no amount of money can compare to that. You wouldn't be where you are at Dave if you didn't go bankrupt. Your parents didn't bail you out. And I don't think you would have wanted it any other way.
I might help with a down payment but not an entire house
My in-laws very generously gifted us our home and I do not feel this will limit our growth as adults. Because we do not have a house payment we invest close to 40% of our income and feel free to pursue any professional endeavor we want. Their generosity inspires us to work harder to not squander such a gift and to work to provide our children the same in the future.
Thank you!!!!
I'm confused how this mom knows her 30 year old kids aren't setting aside retirement money or where their savings accounts are kept. My parents and in laws do not have that much knowledge about our financial business. They know we're living within our means, occasionally we ask advice about some things, and that's about it. If they asked me what kind of account my emergency fund was in, I would find that weird and not their business.
I think in general people are too private about their money and family. I hope you will not be trying to pull that information out of your parents when they are older and you are in charge of their finances
@@Kevin.Grindel It’s still none of their business. The parent’s future problems are not your present responsibility. IF your elderly relative asks for your help but genuinely forgets due to Alzheimers or Dementia (been through this twice) that’s Ok. But if someone is resting your help as a form of “get back”-don’t help them. That’s how drowning people make their rescuers drown.

I would have loved to heard more from the 1st caller, but you guys just ran right across him.
Idea for "talk nerdy to me." Can you talk about the new rules for real estate agents after the 6% thing was ended and how that affects buyers and sellers practically?
Wait, what ? What new real estate rules do you speak of ?
My 1971 mobile home on 1acre is appraised at $70k. So obviously they dont depreciate that bad.
Why are we trying so hard to get the ladies dent reduce from $7k to $2k ?. You borrowed it so pay it back !
Mobile homes are treated like car loans a lot of places. It was 3% 25y mortgage vs 10% 10y chattel loan plus lot rental at the time. Our mortgage broker ran the numbers and we would've paid the same monthly on a 240k home and a 95k mobile home.
⁰0
I was pre approved at Clayton Homes in TX. Mortgage under $400.😂😂😂Brand new home.
@@user-cv4yf2lb7r How much is your lot rent? How fast does that trailer depreciate?
Most people don't realize a mobile home is not real estate until it's title is surrendered and permanently affixed to a foundation. Not to mention the cost of renting the land underneath it.
To me its only slightly better than an apartment if all factors are equal.
@@chaosdragun1608 Depends on the apartment.
On my previous episode I heard George, incorrectly state to someone that they get 0% on a settlement fund. That’s not true. I’m getting over 4% money market rates at Vanguard on my settlement fund.
Do all Americans think of a motor home as a deprecating item?. We are in our van conversion at a 4 day holiday weekender. Everybody here has a motor home of some kind and it's for travelling and having fun. Most of them drive to other countries and tour. I think most pay cash ,I know my friends have a new caravan and car all cash bought. They are 77/78years old . They go everywhere also have there own home..
The lady at 1:37:00 yeesh.
"My kids aren't putting their emergency fund in a HYSA"
How is that even a sticking point to leaving your kids money? She says she not trying to control them but she absolutely is. They aren't doing EXACTLY what she's doing and thinks they're going to blow her retirement money after she dies.
There’s never data forecasting a correction in the market.
You don't have to do all or nothing.. People who lost money in 2000 age never got back what they lost. Yes the market prices looked better 10 years later. But that wasn't true of every single company and so a lot of people never got back their money.
That's why you don't do single stocks.
What was the book Dave suggested we should read?
Nothing is Wasted....about the youth minister who's wife was unalived in his home
George!
She still lives w him because the cookie has blinded him senseless to the point of felony theft
The sale on bestsellers ends today but why increase from $5 to $12 or am I wrong?
Most frugal of all is to borrow from the library: $0
They most likely were just trying to move inventory quickly. They want to promote interest in it.
I'm sure it will go up and down throughout the different seasons
Some items are $5 some are $12. They didn't change the prices. The just didn't promote the $5 dollar items this episode.
@@myoldvhstapesthat's what I always do. I have George's book on my hold list currently.
When I looked at the books on sale, none of them were $5. So I don't know where Dave got that number. I checked the website the first day and all the books were either $8 or $12.
What happened to the debt free screams? It seems that there were used to be a couple each episode, and now there are none.
Rhe young attorney didnt argue his case well. He said that his wife had interned five times, one of which was at the high-offer Nashville firm where she now clerks. Rhat seems to be one large factor in rhe pay discrepancy. But he let Dave verballybowl him over. 😂
You can see why her married the lawyer, he needs someone to stand up for him because he folder like a leaf on basic questions 😂

It's getting difficult to listen to Dave with that tone. Sometimes he needs to accept when he does not know something
My mom can't stand his tone. 😂
Maybe you need a new podcast? I only see the positive in this show! Dave has to play tough love at times with feeling sensitive people!!😊
It's getting difficult to read comments just like yours when you're among the just about the dime a dozen who doesn't have sense enough to post time stamps involved in the conversation for which your referencing in this 2-hour long show that's been 2 hours long for how many years now? Easily more than 10...-_-
You have the choice to listen to something else. Bye. 👋🏼 ✌🏼
I love his tone lol😂@@kellibuzzard9431
Dave was really hard on the young woman living with her boyfriend. I also made a decision not to live with someone before getting married. But the tone of this call was so over the top that it came across as just shaming to the point that (1) there was no way she could hear his advice over the overwhelming disdain and contempt, and (2) he ran out of time to actually get into the practical steps of how to fix the financials. This was hard to listen to. It did not come across as "I love you kiddo and am just telling you what I would tell my own kids." Rather, it was a "you disgust me and I'm morally superior to you" kind of voice. Yikes.
Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.
she called the show- and if she knows how Dave operates- then don't call. Remember- they call in- Dave doesn't go looking for them.I would say- just dont call if you cant take it.
@@kristencampbell5533 Agreed. He had no intention of helping her once he learned she was living "in sin". He mixes religion and finances too much. Like she asked "how is that'l going to help with my current situation"?
@@ThePolypam100% but at the end of the day its just a radio show and none of the personalities, as far as I know, have any sort of financial licenses so they aren't beholden to the consequences of any of the advice they give so as long as its entertaining people listen. Yes there's some practical tips mixed in on occasion but generally speaking there's plenty of options out there put on by licensed CPAs that I prefer to take guidance from.
@@ThePolypamDave’s financial advice is ENTIRELY based on the Bible. They’re not “mixed”, they are synonymous.

This has nothing to do with what this show is about, but every time I see George I wonder about his red blood cell count. He looks pale to me. Sorry George, it's just the nursing in me. I wish him good health🙂
Sometimes George's snark goes too far.
George does absolutely nothing but wait for Dave to say something that he can rephrase to sound like he’s adding to the conversation. He’s not. He sounds like someone that would say whatever he thought his employer wanted to hear, whether he agreed or not.
