    Hey PAPA! It's my first time on your Site and am richly rewarded by your dedicated Craftsmanship. I couldn't help but reflect on my
    Grandfather who also was a skilled Craftsman like you. He amassed many Blue Ribbons for his Art from the Oregon State Fair
    back in the 50's and 60's. Archie Wilkinson was a WWI Veteran who lived in White City OR. MUCH of his "works" are in our various
    homes as Family Heirlooms which we are proud to have. (which I'm sure you have many as well). Blessings... to You and Yours !! !!
    (Archie's works were segmented Plywood inventions ~~ very crafty ART. !! !! )

      Thank you so much. By all means try it. You can use any thickness for the layers but the thinner the more dramatic the look. For staring out you could try an easier version maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. That would be a good practice piece. I think the ones I did here were 3/16 thick. So much thinner for sure.
      Best of luck and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

    I have never seen a Dizzy Bowl before! WOW! I'm thinking that the rusty colored wood is Jarra from Australia. The fine dust can be an irritant to skin and lungs. Kris Harbour has used Jarra railroad sleepers to make projects on his Yorkshire homestead.
    Subscribed.

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  3 года назад

      Thank you Mary, happy you liked it. I am confused on some of those woods from Australia. I know there is a Jarrah which is yellowish in color. And Jatoba which is dark in color. And there is a Yarran. There is a store near me that supplies wood from Australia. It is called Outback Lumber. I have not gone there but will one of these days. Maybe I can clear it up once things open up a bit more.

      Well now what a coincidence this is. I just finished editing a video and used a picture of that bowl in it.
      Maybe there will be a dizzy bowl coming up next week..shh.... don't tell anyone
      I had a barrel of monkeys running around in my head when I did it. So it might be fun watching me scramble to get it done.
