    Most of the time, I ask myself if the person deserves the fine tools they have.
    In your case, I wonder if the high quality tools realize the master craftsman they have.
    I am bowled over (no pun intended) by your mathematical genius with wood.
    Absolutely stunning work. I salute you.

      My husband and son are wood-workers. They made lion claw base oak tables at one time. Made and sold more than 10 of them. I understand how hard what you do is to accomplish. You not only accomplish it, you do it very well and are able to teach others to do it, also. Only 1 in 10,000 people can successfully teach what what they do well. You are in that rare percentage. Wonderful job, great video tutorial.

    Perhaps unlike any other builder in a segmented bowl turning. Because the pcs are blocks not segmented? Resulting in almost a brick work look.
    UNREAL COOL TOOLS. The index wheel. The height gauge. Etc. All make for some true, plumb. Square glue ups. So the pattern comes out so very evenly. Its a watch again video in pattern menu g! Very nice job. Dr ent size too!

    I noticed you sanding down the sharp edges of the open segments on the lathe. Is that a critical step before you actually touch your turning tools to the bowl?

    • @TomLohman
      @TomLohman  4 года назад

      This is how I do it, if you use a bowl gouge you may not need to sand. I use Easy Wood Tools and they are a little aggressive.

    • @TomLohman
      @TomLohman  5 лет назад

      This has 112 segments per row and the open space is 12%, you need to divide (360 / 112) * 0.88 is the angle, but because the piece has an angle on both sides (think about a slice of pie) you need to divide by 2 to give the answer of 1.41 degrees.
