Great video. I'm here at your channel through your brother. Sanctuary is beautiful. I'm glad you are sharing it with us. Bless your family and stay warm and safe this winter.
Love the video! I know all about that stacking of wood thing. I have 2 wood stacks out back that I need to rearrange. Think I'll wait until spring to do that! Keep up the great content you've been putting out!
Love you home out in B. C it not easy to run place like yours but it great to see what you do on your place thanks for your Vlogs keep making then Bryon and family I hope you have a great Christmas and best wishes in 2025 Bryon and family
Wow Byron, you really know how to pack your...logs 🤦♀ Nice score on the Maple but that stuff is hard to split for sure! I love all your dogs but I have one German Shedder - I can't fathom the amount of hair y'all must see! But they make it up in unconditional love 🐶
Hellooooo SANCTUARY!👋 Wood chores today, eh ...getting your winter supply ready maybe!?🤔🤨. It's sooooo ADORABLE hearing lil Noah laughing ...such a BEAUTIFUL wide open country for him to grow up in. Thank you again for sharing and for working with a smile ...continue to take care, stay safe and GOD bless!👍🤗💖☺️
You could open EVERY vlog like this one, yes please! Let me know if you need me to send you some bandaids. I've been sending them to your brother for years. 😅
I have 60 acres in Northern Arizona, I'm a widow. Seems like I'm always a season behind 😞 love and light and positive vibes to you and yours from me and mine 😁
Lisa, 60 acres is a lot to handle - and by yourself seems very challenging. That would be very difficult - but God doesn’t give us anything we can’t bear! ..at least that’s what I’ve heard said. I’m always a season (or two) behind as well!
This is a wonderful day after a birthday treat. I love how filming is a family affair. You Allens have a special family vibe that we need more of in this day and age. And thank you for sharing it with us.
Good evening Byron. Enjoying the views of your farm life, especially the wood chopping😜 your son is adorable, it's great you get to spend time with him throughout your day.
Sometimes everyday life and time gets away from us so a temporary solution or band-aid is needed. I'm sure everything will be alright.. at least it's stacked nicely lol. Another enjoyable video and always love seeing you and Noah together. You're an amazing dad and Noah is a lucky little boy. Much love to the whole Allen family.
Working with firewood is a very hard job, my husband has to work with it too, as it is our only heat source. I would get him to go shirtless, only instead of a six pack, I get the middle age spread to drool over.... LOL.. Bless his heart, he works hard for an almost 70 year old man... and I do love the old fart...LOL... I wish we had a farm like you have, it is soo beautiful, and your children will have many happy memories I'm sure... Noah is sure a cutie... God Bless. 😺
Love the new channel, ❤sure can sure see that you and Matthew are brothers. You both have have great parents, and I love how you and Matthew spend time with your folks and each other. Your little homestead will be amazing and worth it in the long run. People like you keep BC rocking. ❤
Noah is so cute! The best sound is the sound of a giggle, especially a baby giggle. And when you fell Byron, I was so glad you do your own stunts! Thank you for the glimpse into your happy homestead. So, do we get a reaction from Steph?
Ive heated my home with wood for years ..so I can relate to the drain of stacking…I did 4 cords of wood so far this year…with probably 2 more to go…. I start in the Spring and do a cord about every other month..weather permitting….I stack what doesn’t fit in the woodshed on pallets and cover with tarps. Although must be a bigger challenge taking care of baby 😌…btw nice job! Happy stacking! 😊
@@TalesFromSanctuaryDon't encourage them Byron, trust me that's a can of worms you don't want to open, especially if you don't want to be sleeping in the barn with the goats!😂🤣😂
Well done Byron, another great vlog! 👍 Home steading is indeed very hard work but it'll be way more rewarding than many things in life. Also allowing you to align with your ancient hunter gatherer dna. Noah is so freaking cute, you and Steph are very fortunate to have such a beautiful child!🥰 As for the doggies, well they're all gorgeous but I have a special place in my heart for Penny!💖 Finally bro say hi to Steph please and I'm sending her some relaxing vibes for her pregnancy which I'm sure at this point is driving her crazy!🤰🪄✨✨✨✨
I will pass that along, Leopard 🐆. She is getting QUITE uncomfortable, to say the least.. T Minus: moments until lift off! As for Penny, that is understandable.. she is a beautiful little gem of a shadow. Thank you for your kindness.
Always enjoy your videos, noticed different seasons, now in December Im sure not as much lush foliage..Great wood chopping, your a pro...Your dogs are so special and the cat as well. Noah on the swing fun to watch...Happy Holidays...🐕🐔☀🪓🙏
I hate chopping and stacking wood. Its goto be done but its backbreaking. My hubby has bought me a log splitter as he says im really dangerous with an axe 😂. When im sitting in my lounge with a open fire roaring away its all worth it. X
I absolutely love splitting and stacking wood 🪵 🪓 I find it very relaxing. So dangerous with an axe that he had to purchase an industrial grade machine for your own safety!!
I came over from your brother's page. You are a very hard working man and have lots on your plate. Please keep it real and things will work them selves out. There is is only so many hours in the day or in out lives. Keep it up. Love the wife and kids like there's no tomorrow. 👋 Byron Another great video. Forgive me; I liked your last video but forgot to comment. You maybe said already. But I was wondering 🤔 what you do with so many 🐐 goats. I know you said Noah drinks the 🥛 milk. But are you raising them for show? Hope you don't mind my questions. As far as firewood, I know what a job that can be. One day at a time. Well, until your next adventure, I will say 👋 BTW I always smash the like button 🛑 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you Carolyn! Well, we haven’t really thought about raising them for show, it’s been more of a practical thing for our own sustainment.. but that’s a very interesting idea!
Hey Byron, enjoying the vids. Do you have enough wood collected for winter? Looks like a lot. Do you get the trees off the property? Did you use a chain saw to cut it to the right length? Also, does it have to dry out before using? I'm picturing the warms cozy fires.
Hello! The two cords in this video were delivered to us by an outstanding local out here.. delivered because I was way behind! I’ve got some videos upcoming that will answer all of your questions 😉 stay tuned!!
Mice for sure, but Kaino handles that. I have yet to run into a rat. And snakes are everywhere but they’re just little duffers I pick them up and they hang out with you no problem!
Fall chores, getting the wood gathered….know all about it, even the part of finishing in the rain. Good on ya Byron 😊
You and Wilf absolutely have me beat in the experience sector!

Hi another great video. Thanks for sharing
Another great vlog Byron. You'll never run out of content lol. You're a busy fella.
The trees in the background starting around 10:07 look like they are from a painting. What beautiful colors
Living out here is quite literally living in a fairy tale.
I love Mr. Man in the background derecting you on wood stacking! Tell us the truth he is the forman of the homestead! (Dextor looking wood stack lol)
Awesome video again😊

There’s never an end to the wood stacking, is there!? It’s glorious! Definitely wait until it warms up for your re organizing!
A memorable line from the movie Galaxy Quest: “ I see you managed to get your shirt off.” LOL, but seriously, shirt up brother.
Nope. Won’t do it. When it’s hot out I’ll keep it real. You can keep yours on if you’d like 🤙 😉

Why does my brother need so many bandaids 🤣
Out here it’s usually more severe. Only professional grade tourniquets will suffice!

Haha, oh I would say we’ve both had our fair share of “dirty jobs”.
Improvise…Adapt…OverCome. Ya’ll starting to sound like the

..but screaming for hay. Not more pushups.
Time to shirt up, son; to quote a family favorite movie. I couldn’t resist. Luther seemed to be enjoying being freed from the backyard! Good video.

Hi Byron! Great job on the log splitting! Very satisfying chore!
It’s very satisfying!
People stacking wood usually turn the wood the opposite way every other tier on the ends so there's no pressure on the end posts.
I’ve seen many different methods!
Ask Matthew, he knows a thing or two about band-aides lol
😂😂
Ahhhh just rub some dirt innit.
Splitting wood is 1 thing I don't miss from my younger years.
Really? Alan, I love processing the wood. Maybe I’ll come to dislike it but for now - it’s a joy!
Hard working young man you are!! Lots of wood. Watch your back….
Always 👀
Noah is so cute! The best sound is the sound of a giggle, especially a baby giggle. And when you fell Byron, I was so glad you do your own stunts! Thank you for the glimpse into your happy homestead. So, do we get a reaction from Steph?
His little laughs are hard to handle. I can definitely include a reaction from her at some point!

There is a lot of hard manual labor on your homestead. You definitely need those muscles for sure.
The WHEELBARROW IS WHERE 🤷🏼🤣?
Wonderful question! Full of goat poop I imagine.
Hi Byron and family 👋🐐🐓👶🇨🇦
Hello! 🐐 🐺
Hey Byron
I called it she'd and weg in my day builds muscle keeps you warm😊
Wedge and 10 pound hamer
A mans got to do what a mans gotta do.!

Shirtless and chopping wood...fantastic way to start a video btw can I come and visit just to pet all the dogs ?
It’s had mixed reviews 🤣
Of course! We will open the Sanctuary Petting Zoo, with a special Husky section.
🤩
Stack the wood, drape the wood. undrape the wood, cut the wood and then store it. Rinse and repeat.
Let season. And repeat!
Love this but how do you afford to get all this acerage in Canada and afford the house and all these animals?
Timing and the willingness to suffer through terrible jobs and amazing opportunities.
