I'm an OSU fan and always enjoy watching this band perform. Much respect.
As a Michigan fan, your guys marching band is killer!
No matter how many times you practiced it in July-August, the very first time you march through that tunnel and suddenly emerge into the brilliant sunlit sky and thunderous applause is an experience never in life you will forget. After that it is all rote memory of the precision steps you have practiced over and over, and the jitters all gone. Go maze!
I love 💗 watching Michigan marching band playing songs for the 9/11 first responders who passed away during 9/11 every year

Absolute class you are right. They even sang. I'm sure the veterans of the Army in attendance were very thankful and sang loud though they are michigan fans they're a soldier of the USA at heart

I was at this game. We did the same thing for Air Force and I’m sure we’ll do the same thing for Navy

You kids always put on the best shows. My chest swells with pride every time I see that flying M flowing from the north to the south. Fantastic. Best wishes always to the Michigan Marching Band.

This is the Best Band in the Land.
I have been to games at most of the 64 P5 stadiums, and no band does a better job of pre-game than UM!! We are also one of only 2 bands that always honors the visiting team by playing their fight song. It is stirring, and with 110,000 singing the greatest fight song in the land, "Hail to the Victors!", you never forget Game Day in Ann Arbor!
What is the other one?
@@eddihaskell Nebraska. They did it at the 1986 Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, playing "Hail to the Victors", and did it again in Lincoln several years ago. Their fans also display great sportsmanship! Nice to see, as it is a dying breed.
@@jdhjimbo Thanks!. They also managed to share the national championship in 96 with Michigan -- we were favored to win it!
@@eddihaskell Michigan really won it in 1997. Nebraska was given an extra down vs Colorado that netted them a win they did not earn. In addition, UM was #1, and CBS (the broadcasters of the Orange Bowl between Nebraska & TN) staged a campaign to increase their ratings, so turned the Coaches poll to Nebraska in support of their retiring colleague, Tom Osborne. It was a sham tie.

I was a senior and was in the student section (season ticket holder) during this game. The Let’s Go Blue gives me chills every time because of how thunderous it is
Im a Mizzou fan, but I love watching marching bands from other colleges. Michigan has an awesome marching band.
Oh how I miss the Band. My daughter and her husband met while playing in the Band 3 years ago. Seeing her March toward me in the block M formation while playing The Victors always gave me a thrill.

I’m at Ohio State fan but I got to admit the Michigan fight song is pretty good.
As a Michigan State fan, I have to agree. It's one of the most iconic fight songs in college sports.
But even as a FSU Seminole I gotta admit that Script Ohio Dotting the I gives me chills every time.
as a Georgia fan that has lived in Columbus I guess both of these schools are alright

Get goosebumps when you step onto the field
Pity the sound isn't better on these videos. I got to march with this band when I was in high school and those first tantalizing bars of the snare drums playing that cadence still sends chills up my spine. I wish I could hear more than crowd and bass drum for the rest of it. Oh, well. I can hear it in my mind's ear.
I really hope this is in my future
As someone growing up since the 6th grade as a music enthusiast, I remember being so angry at Saturday football games. I could hear the band in the distance, and they’d cut to some postulating nonsense.
No method was available as a kid growing up in the 80s to understand what this was about. I’ve been amazed since at the talent of US bands.

Love the respect that the service academies get when visiting for their away games. Normally it would be a sea of boos for any other school but not for the academies.

@@mt22201 I have no knowledge of it ever being part of pregame. My mom (MMB '88-'91) doesn't either, so it's been at least sevral decades. It's not "rah-rah"-ey enough.

I disliked this because I am an Ohio State can but I like marching bands so.
I, too, like all Marching Bands. I will stand for any Marching Band regardless of what school they represent. These member put in many hours just to entertain the fans.

I can see that Michigan copied the back bend that the drum major does from Ohio State. Thats a pretty tough physical back bend to have to do!

@@thonatim5321 Only thing I can get behind is the fight song, everything else is sub par compared to Ohio State.
@@etheman80 That is your opinion but you need to admit to yourself that you are biased. These results have been supported by many polls over the years of the "average college football fan". ESPN recently did a poll that confirmed these results.
