    Ralph Fiennes is adorable. One of the greatest actors in cinema & on the stage, & there he sits in his stretched out cardigan wearing his emotions on his sleeve & being so humble & delighted by the company surrounding him.

    This is a nice interview. Wes seems like a shy person, but he is very articulate and extremely knowledgeable. Ralph seems the same way. They don't seem particularly comfortable talking about their work, which is OK. That's not their job really; they made a beautiful film and that is what their job is.

    Why is Ralph Fiennes so awesome?

  • @SamsXO
    @SamsXO 10 лет назад +62

    I love Ralph and Tony together. They made each other shine in the film.
    Also, I think this is a great interview. It gives a lot of insight to the film and feels like a discussion with a friend, in my opinion. I've heard Wes Anderson speak on film many times and I've never heard him stammer. I'm sure he is doing this out of nerves since it is in front of a live audience.
    I think and I hope this film will go down in history as a real classic. It's beautiful, timeless, has perfect comedic timing and a unique twist on a story of loyalty and friendship between very unlikely characters.
    I think it's one of my favorite films of all time.

    I absolutely love how wes and tony and ralph do their best to really honor / consider the questions. They really get that people are people and that they're part of a larger process than their own creative efforts, even if Grand Budapest is fuckin brilliant, which it is.

    Wow the girl at 28:40 was incredibly pretentious, self centered, and condescending. Her Q to Tony was so rude, basically saying “you’re so young do you even know about Wes and his work, let me ask you this Q so I can judge wether not you deserved to be apart of his film.” She’s the type of person who thinks less of others who don’t share her same taste in films/art. Marvelous film though.

    For anyone who thinks that a filmmaker will ever truly describe the meaning, influences and actual intrinsic process of their film: YOU'RE LIVING IN CLOUDS. An artist rarely will tell you the 100% meaning of their work. Some do, but many don't. The author which "inspire" is a mere distraction and serves as a segue platform. Wes says it himself. Plagiarism, well, in his case. At least he's not lying. Here is the thing: everyone is so razzled dazzled by him that he hides in plain sight. Wes is clearly a luceferian and throws the sign around 12:03. WAKE UP PPL. Cookie cut films are so passe. Y A W N

    • @FischerFilmStudio

      And with that comment, you have shown that you completely misunderstand the magic in this movie, and so I have nothing further to say to you except this: "Movies are not simply a mode of entertainment, they are a window into another world. And sometimes the landscape has already been shaped, but the window will always provide a different perspective and sight upon viewing..." Do try to sum up the amount of IQ to understand the quote my friend, i know it is oh so challenging for you. Adieu.

    • @soledadsocorro5253
      @soledadsocorro5253 9 лет назад +1

      Kristian Fischer Made you look! First of all: films are subjective as you so elegantly back up. We all know that. My point was this: For any spectator to believe an artist will be forthcoming as to true inspiration is hilarity. Second, it's my opinion, but because my comment got panties bunched up only proves there was a delicate matter to poke at. As far as intelligence quotients, FYI: There are countless artists with learning disabilities who create amazing art and get shown & y'all lap it up like scripture, and yet there are countless of high I.Q. individuals who are selling hot dogs. It's about nurturing & opportunity. The fact I stirred something up is indicative there was something to rouse anyway. The only challenging thing here is convincing Anderson to drop his evocative template and to explore true artistry & not a members only gimmick/ franchise. Arrivederci.

    • @FischerFilmStudio
      @FischerFilmStudio 9 лет назад

      Yes, in many respects you are correct, but if you weren't searching for someone to become upset upon viewing your opinion, then why would you post it to RUclips where there are several people willing to defend the things they are fans of? I digress though, because you seem to miss the point of the film. The author of the book knowingly gave Wes Anderson the story understanding that he would change it. It's an artists interpretation, and the author let him do it. So you being upset enough to insult the film industry is funny considering the fact that the author let the source material become this movie!

  • @simonehoulihan743

    I love the movie but I miss a balance in the film. What I mean is, there is a need to have more multi dimensional female characters in the film. This is why the film is good but not great...not enough female characters. Wes Anderson try a female protagonist next time.
