ESPN College Football Intro Theme Music - Playoff Era

- This is the simply amazing ESPN College Football theme music launched for the College Football playoff, and then implimented across ESPN's College and High School broadcasts from Fall 2015.
This forms the basis for other cues also. So far I've heard a metal, trance, and Dub version of this, and will get audio clips when possible. This audio comes from the 2015 National Championship Game.
Nothing better than hearing this on a October Saturday morning at 9 am

This theme defined my childhood. I was obsessed with college football and I still am. I still remember those crazy games where I’d be watching my Irish play in primetime on the edge of my seat. Gives me chills to this day.
Dude I think we had the same childhood will fuller,deshone kizer as a kid those were my favorite players in college at the time and then watching tranquill and book were cool too

I think it's because they use it for every game instead of just the Playoff. If they used the old theme for regular season and non-playoff bowl games, then this theme would probably be praised more.

+Nathan Dinickle Thanks :) This actually came off the direct feed of the UK version of the Championship Game, as ESPN doesn't show sponsor messages / Side By Side commercials. All the other ones use the trick of trying to hide the vocals through an Audacity Mid Channel trick, which rarely works well.
I guess y'all foreigners get lucky to listen to all that music instead of commercials :) Do networks usually let the music play during commercial on the international feeds?
+William Palmer We still get commercials overall. It's more mainly when it's the 'College Football on ESPN is bought to you by Wells Fargo' or whatever. They don't display the messages; both as some products don't exist over here, and also as they're not paid for!

Totally agree. They use it on college gameday and in the intro of games, when it should have only been used for playoffs! Wish they kept the one from 2010-2014.

They altered it a bit this season where it sounds way better, this is the first one they used in January. I hope someone releases that one on here soon.
Actually they are still using this version for ABC Saturday Night Football. For all the other games, the different version you mentioned.

Over the last two seasons, I've really become obsessed with college football, especially ESPN on ABC College Football (because they have football games on all day lol). I used to be an exclusive NFL fan. But now, I really love both. So I get so pumped when I hear this music. I never heard the previous music everyone is talking about, but I totally understand how it can suck when they change sport theme songs. Like when they changed the FOX MLB theme song. Ugh..
This is the most gorgeous sports anthem to ever bless my ears.

I like the BCS era theme song because of the history and legacies made during that time(1999-2014) but I think this theme perfectly puts the intesity into the playoff. Even though I personally believe it should be 8 teams, but for now I'll accept 4.

Some of y'all is crazy. This is the best theme ESPN college football ever has had. Yes, the themes from the BCS era were good, but college football is changing, recruiting is bigger than its ever been, there are more games than ever that have National title impact and the playoff games and the new years 6 bowls. We're in a new era of college football, get over it. Cant wait until the 8 team playoff and then the 16 team playoff. College football has never been better.

8 Team playoff would ruin college football. 4 is perfect so almost every major conference can theoretically get a team in. 8 teams would destroy the regular season because good fall games would lose value when 9-3 can get you in and 10-2 is guaranteed

This worked more for the playoffs. I like it, don't get me wrong, but nothing beats the one they used from 2010-14.

Still sucks at 1.25... Not any more or any less, just sucks all around.
Sped up, it has more of a pep band feel to it, as opposed to standard field marching band. (Pep band tunes are usually a bit more sped up to get the crowd on their feet.)

2015 national championship.... so many memories
This is the playoff one which I don't like too much but the one they use during the season that sounds similar to this is kickass that one has grown on me a ton. I don't even like the old one before this anymore this is way more epic than the previous two. The best one they ever had though is the one from the 90s and 2000s but if you give this one some more years it will be better than that one.
this one makes me think of college football today same with the fox one. some songs that are no longer on sometimes make me think of back in the 2000s/early 2010s. the only one that has stayed is the cbs one tho. but espn has changed, fox, abc. most of the ones tho in the 2000s/earlier 2010s are still good.
