There are two genius in the world of soundtracks: one, bill conti who adds the bongo to the final bell to make it rush. Second one, the guy who choose el bimbo for blue oyster scene in police academy.
My wife’s favorite song was from Rocky 3, the Eye of the Tiger. We were both in the Navy as senior officers and Family Physicians. Deployments went well but when we moved from Japan to DC one month later she had a seizure and was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. During her battle with the disease and coming back to to active duty during a remission she always used this song to work out. I miss her dearly. She succumbed to it in 2014 and because of her amazing service she was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors. God bless all of you.

I played Going The Distance over and over the morning I was scheduled to defend my doctoral dissertation. I kept saying, “I just want to go the distance.” And I did. The Chairwoman of my dissertation a committee, an expert in school law who had a Presidential Appointment, said my dissertation was “the BEST I have EVER read, you absolutely know your stuff, DOCTOR Timmerman!” I almost cried I was soooo relieved and happy!!!
My father was in coma for 2 weeks he was listening to this! On the 14th day he woke up. It took him 3 years to get back on his feet. He couldn’t walk he was bed bound. He’s my rocky. He kept on moving forward

The whole soundtrack album is sonically amazing - a mix of that 70s orchestral soul, classical, some funk, some thoughtful introspection and all evocative. Makes you just FEEL! ❤❤❤ wish there was film of the recording to see those musicians play this.
Love the music to the original Rocky. No music ever combined with a movie better than theses 3. Thanks for putting these songs together. What a great year 1977 was. Two movies that came out that year are still inspiring sequels in in 2023. Creed III is coming out this year. Even thou Rocky is not in this movie, it is still part of the Rocky saga. Also in late 1977 "Star Wars" came out and Disney+ is still coming out with new Star Wars material.
I went to this movie with my Dad. Sadly he passed away in 2014! I remember him telling me that he 'went' to the 'steps'. I jokingly asked if he ran up the steps. He said he crawled.. From what I understand they moved Rocky away. My Dad said some football stadium
