@@AussieAustrian it isnt only about the trailer setup. it's simple physics at play - on a few (negative) aspects. location of trailer wheels vs trailer length, weight distribution being mostly midline, and plenty behind the axle(s), impact of a heavy trailer motions on a light vehicle. i'm ignoring ford's famous lack of engineering, and the fact the ute is bound to have crap brakes, overheating transmissions, poor suspension, and failing diffs.
The chassis, axles, diffs and suspension will dramatically need to be reinforced, or they would crack and bend at those weights. Let alone the engine, gearbox and brakes to deal with the weight reliably.
I world buy one. The 3l v6 has LOADS of headroom for tuning for more power and also the option to add hybrid torque adders. For those that think the 3l is too small look at what ram is doing with their 3l hurricane engine.
The GVM is like an F250 Super Duty with the derated GVWR option to 9900lbs. This would leap frog over the F150. These numbers are hard to believe, but I'm interested if it would come to North America.
One thing is for certain, the Australian market will never be fully satisfied with whatever Ford puts out. No matter how much they listen to their consumers, someone is going to be complaining
My money will go to any manufacturer that sells a UTE that can tow 3.5 tons with relative ease, don't have AWFUL fuel consumption, & is cheap. All a UTE (or car for that matter) should have is dual zone auto climate control, 6 airbags, manual adjustable seats, manual windows, radio with Bluetooth, front & rear demisters, 4 x 4 and comfortable seats. The rest just makes the car more expensive.
For me, there has to be a single/ extra cab version. I am so sick of seeing nothing but dual cabs. I don't want back seats! I want a bigger tray! Dual cabs suck! Why do people keep buying dual cabs? Surely I'm not alone in feeling this way? BRING BACK THE SINGLE CAB!
Dear lord. Please tell me this will be a dual cab chassis, so we aren’t wasting money taking of the tubs to fit trays and canopies. Sign me up if that’s the case.
So what Ford are saying is the Ranger and F150 aren’t capable of doing what this new vehicle can (allegedly). The large loads claimed for this new vehicle are ridiculous. To me it sounds like a load carrying towing accident waiting to happen.
Land cruiser 70 series might be ancient but they never die. No one who buys a 70 series would buy a much less reliable and fragile ford ranger over it.
@@tropicsalt. Exactly, the stats mean nothing if the durability and reliability isn't there. Driving a ranger on a wash boarded road everyday the thing will start falling to pieces in a week or 2.
I don't believe so. The RAM 1500 can technically tow 4.5T (but in reality it can't). And that isn't a 00 alcohol vehicle. I think that 00 alcohol limit comes in with a significant increase in tare weight.
Time to regulate the speed limit to vehicle's towing over 3t Never seen a caravan swaying out of control parked up in the driveway or while doing 80klms.. There's too many cowboys getting out of control on the road, towing to max speed limit, or trying to overtake in ridiculous situations, totally destroying the insurance premiums for the sensible people.

It’s going to be a winner for people doing a lap with a caravan
Can't wait to get tailgated by this in my local suburbian area towing nothing
Its not a Toyota, so probably unlikely.
This is going to be an absolute winner
How do you know
Should just do v6 with hybrid make like 800 nm of tourque
4.5T towing with an 8T GCM 🤨
Physics suggests that's a terrible idea
100 %, those figure’s should be left to the 2500/3500 HD trucks and Isuzu NPS types.

Who wants to be doing heavy duty towing with a 5L petrol. Something in the 3.5-4.5L twin turbo diesel would be ideal.
Gunna be the best car in the shopping centre carpark for sure.
The real question is, will it be seen towing jetskis with a fake non-functional bonnet scoop 😝
Seriously...anyone towing 4.5T with this thing had better have good insurance.
No improved GCM
It’s all about the trailer set up. The Ranger V6 will pull 4.5t easily. As long as the brakes, suspension and chassis is beefed up this is great.
@AussieAustrian as well the payload will be increased two 4000 lb
@@robertryan7204payload he said was 1000kg, isn't that about 2200 freedom weights. Or did he say of might increase by 1000kg?

I’m going to definitely buy one just to piss off the eco mob!
Wonder what transmissions, if it'll come in a manual or just auto and i doubt the current 10speed would handle the towing expectations...
Wonder if they built reliability in with it this time?
