Thank you brother!! Always a pleasure!!! Mostly I’m glad you liked it as a lover of music! More to come, we do appreciate all your support!!
So excited for this new album, man! As always, you knock it out of the park! Thanks for the great music!
🤘
@@TankTheTech We try, we try :D
I have been an Evergrey fan for 20 years or so, and ALL ALBUMS are so good
man, it's time to see you live again.. the power and the sound of your concerts are just awesome..
I disvovered this band today and im blown away, whst a tight band, wauw
The voice of the singer is sooo emotional good,he made me cry
Im going deep in de rabbithole❤
Evergrey is highly underrated
I became a fan of these guys since I saw them live back in 05 or 06 with inflames and throwdown @club plush in Jacksonville Florida. Tom was walking around interacting with fans during in flames' set, on the balcony. Great times and another masterpiece that will have to be purchased
Here for the reaction to the solos
🤘❣️🤘
I love your enthusiasm brother! A lot of us at the bottom end of Africa love this.
Evergreeeeeeeyyy 🖤🖤🖤🇧🇷
I discovered Evergrey in late 2016. I thought I had a pretty good knowledge of bands, but for some insane reason, Id never heard of them. Inexplicably, they just escaped me , until I heard them online. The song was "Passing Through", from '16s "Storm Within" album. And Jesus, it blew me away. I was stunned then, see that they had about 10 other albums Id soon devour. They've got Metallica sized riffs, layered with classic Gothic atmospherics evoking Paradise Lost to Katatonia. "Hymns for the Broken" and "The Atlantic" are albums that any modern rock fan should own, whilst their older stuff has that nocturnal, gothic metal vibe. "In search of Truth" and "Solitude Dominance Tragedy" . Brilliant albums. Thanks for featuring them.
Thanks for listening!!
Paradise Lost may be the only band I like more than Evergrey (not sure) and Katatonia definitely up there for me too, good call on the comparison.
@@JKennedy442 Paradise Lost are a very interesting band with, as you know yerself mate, a vast, varied backtrack of albums. Regarding the 'Lost and Evergrey, I can hear shades of "Icon" in Evergreys early albums, especially the debut.
Check out 'Shadowed" for instance. I think to my ears anyhoo, its reminiscent of an Icon track like "Rememberance". And thats a good good thing.🤘🤘👍👍 Elsewhere, that gothic atmosphere, that nocturnal, mournful sound on those PL albums can be felt on Evergreys music, and Katatonia aswell. 👍
This may be the best description of evergrey ever 👏
Got introduced to Evergrey shortly after their very first album. Got to know the guys in the band after we hung out in the same music forum. Then saw them live several times in the early years and even brought them to my country of Iceland in 2003 for a couple of gigs. Been one of my favorite bands for decades :) This song is one of their best songs to date in my opinion. Heavy AF!
BTW Tank, if you read this. There is another band in a similar vein to this band that you may not have heard about yet. Denmark's Mercenary. This is another band that has this thick sound with most of their albums produced by Jacob Hansen. They haven't been as active musically for the past decade as I would have liked them to be, but their 2004 album 11 Dreams is a melodic metal masterpiece! Hands down. Produced by Jacob of course. They did some joint tours with Evergrey too.
I've seen that name pop up a few times in these comments now. I'll have to check em out. Thanks!
@@TankTheTech Mercenary are legends :)) one of my fav bands
holy shit where did these guys hide from my metal pilgrimage gonna have to do a deep dive on this band now
The style of Evergrey is unique in the World. The sound is perfect and the voice of Tom absolutely fantastic! The King of emotions... New Album this year? 🤩 This is a beautiful Gift! Thank you Evergrey and thank you Tank for this news 😉👍🤟
Absolutely!
Too kind! Thank you!
Sweden´s best band of all time!!!
Like always Nice vid. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you Tank, great video! 🙌
Thank YOU for the great song, and what I'm sure will be a kick ass record!
I had heard of Evergrey before. I heard A Touch of Blessing back in like 2006 and loved it but never checked anything else out. I also saw them at Bloodstock Festival in 2018 but again, for some reason never checked anything else out. That was until the same time you checked em out. I listened to the singles from Escape of the Phoenix and instantly fell in love with it and then the rest of their back catalogue. I love the band now and I can't wait to see them again later this year. And this song kicks ass. So happy to get a new album so soon after the last one. Keep up the awesome reactions.
Thanks!!
I love their style so much. For some reason, just like you, I've never dived into their music until quite recently. My husband however is really into their music and Goood he's so right, these guys are so good. This song is a wonderful discovery and it is so emotional. Especially in these strange and fearful times we are living, it resonates A LOT in me. Great reaction as always Tank, I learn a lot from you 🙂 greetings from France 🤘
You're right about the frame rate. The original video is playing back at 50 frames a second. Super weird, but at the same time super cool.
As a huge fan of Evergrey since their first album this is so cool to see that they still evolve and finds new fans. Thanks for a great review.
#evergrey
I have loved this group for over 20 years. Each album is a page of my life that Tom writes and sings to perfection.
I deserve more praise and respect in the world of metal andI deserve more praise and respect in the metal world and beyond...
great job
This is so damn good, loving Evergrey. 🇸🇪👍
Great reaction! Love Evergrey, Tom's voice makes me so relaxed. Many great songs.... When the walls go down, touch of blessing, storm within, recreation day just to name a few of all the ear candy they produced. Im proud to be swede. 🥳
I'm with you Tank. Evergrey's 2021 album was one of my favorites of the entire year. Did not expect a new album so soon after that one but I'm super excited. I was late to the party in discovering this band, but I'm all in now. They're amazing. Definitely preordered the new album when I first heard this single.
I thought the new album would come out next year so it was a surprise to say the least. I love it, it’s so addicting. I found Evergrey years ago from some members on an old forum. Glad I did.
I'll definitely need to go through the whole album catalogue now. Missed out on a lot of music since A Touch of Blessing. The level of conviction in Tom's voice makes the lyrics all that more powerful as well.
Thank u!!
Exactly!
I suggest Torn and Hymns for the Broken if you're looking for a place to start, my two favorite albums.
Somehow I too have not heard of this band until today, it's now on the playlist. More than anything, this guy knows how to caress and squeeze every bit of emotion out of a chorus, so good.
Welcome! 😊
Fugging phenomenal! The End!
I love that song. This will be the great opener on the new album 🤘😁🤘
Greetings from Poland 🍻🇵🇱🍻
Awesome! I was waiting for this one. Hails from the Netherlands 🤟🤟
I still can't believe it took you till this channel to hear them, man. I've only seen them live once, but it was with Nevermore and In Flames in 2006... what a fucking show.
Tom always makes me want to fork out the cash for a Caparison.
Yes I was gonna tag you brother 🤘
The fact that they had fans send in audio clips that they used on this song is freakin cool as hell. I love me some Evergrey. Thank you Tank!
That's actually THE coolest thing about this song! A great memory for all of us who sang :D
Spot on. Incredible song, incredible production and mixing…
Thank u!!
Great drumming. Great musicians doing what they always do.
Such a terrific surprise too, that the new album is out in May, as the recent record was released just over a year ago. Such a prolific band, with an incredible range of emotions and tastes. Whatever taste in metal you like, Im sure they've got an album for you. I cant believe how underrated they are. Even in Europe, they arent as massive as they should be. I saw them in Dublin infront of a tiny, but loyal audience and they rocked the place to the core. And they were so sound and appreciative to talk to after the gig. They need more exposure, they deserve to be massive!
Thanks for the support!
You're god damn right about these synths and they are WAY underappreciated generally. Yes, they do have great riffs and emotional vocals, but their choices in synths and piano really yield most of their atmosphere, especially on their last two albums.
We do work om them à LOT!
Damn, I was just wondering if you were going to react to this :D. I loved 'Save Us', and of course, I loved the reaction.
Since I am an album guy, I don't listen to songs on repeat. but because we won't have the album for another 3months, I've listened to this song over and over..and over. I don't know how they do it, but one cannot not love this band. they are one of the very few bands I have complete discography on CD. this will be no exception. it's a shame they are the best kept secret in metal. the best band not many heard of. the quality of their discography is nothing short of astonishing
Wow Evergrey got pushed to the front of the reaction pack fast wasn't expecting this for at least a month
Yeah, I had an open day in the schedule and decided to fill the gap with this one. Haha
@@TankTheTech Well Done ✊🏻
Evergrey never disappoints, so heavy and emotional! Great reaction Tank, keep it up! 🖤🤘
Thanks for covering this band Tank. I haven't heard of them and I'm an old man who remembers buying Blessed are the Sick when it came out on cassette. LOL. Love the channel dude, love the taste in music. Hopefully, you can get around to Reacting to Amon Amarth - Put your Back into the Oars. LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have the "Blessed are the sick" picture vinyl!
I can't wait to see them (for the fist time) live when they come to Dublin in September! Gonna be a hell of a night :D Great job as usual Tank. I love that you know what you're talking about, always a must watch when you drop new vids.
Great reaction. We need a slow-mo take of the moment your gauge flew out! 🤣 I freakin love this band. I discovered them about 10 years ago through my boss and they quickly became a favorite. Tom’s voice is huge and I love whatever they do to get the tone of their guitars. I can’t wait for this album.
There is not one band on earth as consistently good as Evergrey. The guys are unbelieveable musicians and Tom's voice is absolutely spine tingling epic. Can't beat them. Love them. Great reaction vid.
Thank you!
It’s time for this band to break through in the US and Canada. This is phenomenal!
Saw them at the Kool Haus in Toronto in 2004. AMAZING show. They opened for Children of Bodom and Iced Earth. The Inner Circle released the day I saw them & I remember them playing "Ambassador" and I think Michael Hakansson's bass amps were turned up to 11. Got to chat with Tom after they got done playing, super humble dude and I have been a die hard fan ever since.
You know this band has headlined ProgPower USA festival quite a few times already?
I love this channel. I find so much new music that’s insanely good.
amazing song. Gonna watch em live in November :D hyyype
Satfläsk så jefla bra!! Blev omgående ett köp av Red Black Marbled 2 Vinyl + Slipmat And Black 7" Per Order🤘🤘
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Evergrey is one of my favorite bands and I have seen them live 3 or 4 times. They have gotten into a groove of really similar sounding songs, though. I go back to albums like In Search of Truth where their music was really unpredictable in a great way. I will still support these guys whenever possible. Henrik’s guitar work is highly under appreciated. And Tom has one of the most emotive voices in all of metal.
I agree. This is a good song but I prefer their more unpredictable style in the earlier albums. Anyway, I am a fan! It is one of my favourite bands too.
Can't wait for this. New EG track is insanely good!
Thanks for the Reaction Tank I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I’ve enjoyed it as well to, I’m so sure that the album will be amazing 😊🤘
A good track, will have to hear the rest of the album.
Awesome reaction! loved the song! Another one for the playlist 🙂
Love Jonas’s drums!
Love that Solar bass, and I’m hoping you’ll get to chat with Ola soon, since he’s probably my favorite guitar RUclipsr. By the way, he pronounces Solar a bit differently than most English speakers, more like sole-are.
Bro you're really gonna talk about their snare during the solo 😂 what a killer song sounds great. Btw ola had on his channel recently a couple more basses theyre going to be releasing. I think they look sweet, and similar to the Jackson basses
Since I wasn't familiar with Evergrey, I just checked out their Wiki. I knew they had Tom Englund was their vocalist (from your Silent Skies review). But they also had Hannes van Dahl as their drummer 2010-2014. Crazy connections!
If I recall correctly, Hannes was the drum tech for Jonas, who eventually rejoined the band after Hannes left for Sabaton. They toured together at one time as well. At the time I saw them together, Evergrey was the far superior live act.
Yup, Hannes and I talk about it a little bit in the podcast episode that I have coming out on Friday.
@@TankTheTech nice! Excited to hear that, and also that my memory is not yet failing me. Haha
I would assume that the performance part of the video was filmed at 60 FPS and the story part at 30 FPS, which gives a really cool twist to the video and the 2 distinct parts.
And man, I love how quite different each album sounds but you always know in the first 2 seconds that it's Evergrey. And Tom's voice... always a freaking pleasure to hear him sing.
Yeah, I think you're right about the fps.
This is a monster song. I can't remember a song by any band that hit me this hard the first listen.
Hey man, do you ever checked out the germen band ,,knorkator"? you will love it!
Hello Tank! If you want to hear very good music from Finland i recommended Fear of Domination - Dead Weight. I did not find your reaction for it and i assume that you have not listen it yet.
PS keep up! I love your channel.
Yo, could you do a reaction to Plan Three - Brush it Off? They are a Swedish indie rock band and the song is a ballad, not even close to the realm of heavy but it's a gorgeous song, with tremendous vocals and beautiful instrumental work.
Hey Ian, I noticed you had mentioned Silent Skies as being Tom's other band..... he also is a member of US prog metallers Redemption. Should checkout Someone Else's Problem (Album edit). Tom kills on vocals as usual!
Please Tank, if you haven’t already check out Girish and the Chronicles - Love’s Damnation! They’re an Indian band and if you haven’t heard them before, you will be shocked in the best way possible 🤘
Good stuff. First saw Evergrey all the way back in 99 at the Powermad fest. You should also check out another band Tom E sings in, Redemption. Tom has been with them for their latest studio and live albums.
Wow! Powermad!
@@TomEnglundMusic yep and the first Prog Power in Chicago, too. I remember you were so tall and the ceiling so low that your hair was stuck to it haha
There's a musician on frontiers music right now that's been kind of the same way. Name is Alessandro Del Vecchio. Someone else commented that the dude was everywhere. Seems like! I liked Kraemer All The Way. He also sings for Edge of Forever and I forget which others. Not quite as hard as full on metal in everything, but really awesome and yeah, it's like dang dude, do you sleep? hehe. Love ya
Hello!
Great video,great reaction!
Since I'm from Gothenburg and you seems to like the Gothenburg sound (as am I)
Please listen to Snowy Shaw!
He is a drummer who haved playd with King Diamond,Mercyful Fate.Notre Dame,Dream Evil,Therion,Dimmu Borgir..etc.
He is a multitalanted artist that plays everything and sings aswell.
Check out his new album : This is Heavy Metal Plain & Simple.
He plays all of the instruments, and sings as well
ps. he's a really nice guy aswell.
Evergrey will not disappoint, ever...they can´t, even if they tried...
You're right, even "Monday Morning Apocalypse" where they simplified their sound quite a bit was still a killer record.
You should do “Home back” by Jinjer as it is very topical just now.
I’m guessing that you have already heard it so you could maybe do it as a lyrical analysis video.
I did quite a while ago.
Goddammit is that Powermetal? I kinda love it! Curious, I haven't liked clean singing this much for a long time :-D
Great! Welcome!
Aweosome reaction once again! Please react to new Diablo - The Stranger. They released their new album last Friday and its quality metal from Finland 🇫🇮🤘🤘
Greetings!
Loved them since a touch of blessing. He can belt it out with the best of them. Not to mention they have done some great work with Floor on a few tracks.
My favorites are Evergrey and Marcenary. Evergrey top, i'am waiting for the answer of the Mercenary after 10 years
You know they released a new song just a few days ago: ruclips.net/video/vU23X1CChGA/видео.html
Dude, if you love Evergrey as much as I do, give a band called Pyramaze a chance. They're Danish, and they sound like Evergrey. I nominate at first a song called Particle, you will enjoy it.
From Brazil congratulations for the channel, I discovered many good bands
also, i forgot to mention. Jacob Hansen play guitar in Pyramaze since 2015
Hi Tank, are you going to react new Meshuggah and/or Allegaeon?
Planning on Allegaeon. Might not be able to do Meshuggah because I have no contacts with their label or publisher.
Time for a reacton for midwinter calls now tank. 😁
Literally finishing up the edit on it right now. Haha
@@TankTheTech 🤩 of course 😅. You are way ahead of me. And must say.... you are awesome. Keep up the good work, you are the best! All love to you man all the way from 🇸🇪
Do u have both Silent Skies album on the Wall?
I have the latest Silent Skies and Evergrey's last album up there.
Great Song.
Since you like Toms voice, you should check out "The human equation" by Ayreon.
Probably not for the channel (too long and definitely not new) but one of the best Ayreon albums
Yes i can't wait for this one also can you react to the new song from messugah the abysmal eye is good thanks 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Hey dude, react to Crypta - From the Ashes, all female death metal band from Brazil.
Can you do the Ukrainian band Ignea's Alga? It's a masterpiece about the ongoing situation with Russia. It was written in response to the annexation of Crimea. It still speaks true with today's developments.
Thanks.
Was going to recommend Seytanu Akbar, but Alga is an infinitely better choice!
Never said this before, but you have to hit this one Tank!
Anyone else get a similar, but heavier, vibe of "Judith" by A Perfect Circle for that first riff?
Oh wow, I didn't hear that, but now that you bring it up I totally do!
Cool! I think it sounds like our opening riff from our song Blinded 😂
All frame of reference. Haha
Please react to Jinjer's " I speak Astronomy" (OMV) it is one of their best works and with the current invasion of Ukraine, it would be good to showcase the band.
MESHUGGAH NEXT PLZ, DO THE NEW MESHUGGAH VIDEO! 🤓
check out orbit feat. floor it's really good
Hey Tank, would you make a reaction video for my suggestion song called "IL SOGNO" by Isyana Sarasvati feat. Deadsquad (Indonesia)? This song is arranged with orchestra and deathmetal vibe with seriosa in some parts. I promise that you will not dissapointed of this song. I wish i'll find your reaction on my notification soon, hopefully.
the shots with the band is in 50 fps, the other parts are in 25 fps, the 50 fps part is probably looking a bit weird before you get used to that high frame rate
also, jacob hansen, peter tägtgren (when he isnt busy with his own music projects, hypocrisy and pain) and jonas kjellgren are the go-to sound engineers/producers for the big european metal bands, pontus hjelm (known as one of the members of dead by april) is also relatively well known engineer/producer after helping bands like sonic syndicate and the unguided
Please consider Malevolences new song On Broken Glass. So damn good.
Literally exporting my reaction to it right now. First time hearing them, and they kick so much ass!
@@TankTheTech I'm so excited you checked them out! They are so good. If you want to check more of them out Self Supremacy is one hell of an album front to back. Reign Of Suffering as well.
Tank do Volbeat-Shotgun blues reaction, please
Have you ever reaced to the Band "Neopera"?
Can't say I have.
Always beautiful reaction!!!
Hello Tank. I follow you on yt!
I'd like to ask you a question. Could you please react to an Italian rock star, from the 70s he still plays, his name is Vasco Rossi! I would appreciate it very much. Thank you and good day
What's going on Tank?
Thanks for the nice video - as always - but I never get bored of you and your content!
Have you ever listened to the German Blackforest Metal Band "Finsterforst"?
I think you, and a lot of people here, would enjoy them.

Please for the love of god react to septic flesh new single “hierophant “
Bro can u react to Jonathan young "unravel"
Wait....Perfect Circle Judith's ????
You're the second person that's said that now. I didn't hear it all when I first listened to it, but now that it's been brought up, I can kinda hear the similarity.
Blue & yellow just as the swedish flag.
We stand with Ukraine.....save us.....
Blow putin away to kingdom come, we are with you!!!
I was in till he started singing. No good me. Music is great though.
Tom is the Michael McDonald of metal
his drum kit way better then lars of Metallica and way better drum then lars of Metallica too.
Ah yes. The metal kings of autotune. Kills any emotion his natural voice might have.
Hahahahahaha. Okay.
Hahaha :) Thanks for listening, it's ACTUALLY called Alterboy, my NEW favorite FX :)
