THe Big bang Theory line was actually a reference to how in one episode they pointed out how Indiana Jones did nothing and had no purpose being there. With our without him, the Nazis would still open the Ark of the Covenant and all die horribly.
...and then would be left sitting there for the next poor fool to find it, open it, face-melt, rinse, repeat. He DID need to be there, in order to A. prove it was real to the right people, and B. get it into the hands of said right people who would lock it away and leave it forgotten to time, as it should have been.
@@mrenygma181 It's been a really long time since I saw the episode, but the whole episode is the gang trying to come up with stuff like you just did...then realizing it wouldn't have mattered..haha
The Big Bang Theory line was probably referencing when Amy ruined it for the guys when she showed that Jones played no role in the actual outcome and no matter how they argued, it kept coming back to that and the guys gave in and agreed
Indiana Jones brings up how Lara Croft was hyper sexualized "Eww, gross, boomer take" Lara Croft mentions how she was oversexualized and uses it to bolster herself "I see nothing wrong here"
I actually kind of like the boomer takes from Jones, given the age of Indiana Jones and the fact that he gets absolutely ripped to shreds in her verses. Not a fan of the opinion, but as a representation of the character, I kind of don’t hate it.
Indiana Jones saying "I'll leave you Iike your reboot flattened" refers to lara's breast where they were "big" in the original but turned smaller in the reboot
The random guy in “sword vs. gun” is the very same producer you didn’t recognize, Atul. He plays a lot of side characters for them, like the “quiet kid in a play place” in BK vs. Ronald.
8:44 - You call it a"date scene" but then say the nuts got poisoned. I'm pretty sure they were dates, not nuts, whch is why Lara used the phrase "toxis date".
I think the biggest issue with Indiana's verses aren't that they are boomer phrases-so much as he hyper focused on the sexual representation of Laura The thing is that it's an amazing show of character representation and conflict in that while Indiana see's that as a demeaning part of Laura's appeal, Laura see's it as a part of her. With Indiana throwing cheap shots at her fandom appeal, her sexualisation of the adventurer archetype, and her general appearance, Laura turns that all around in the second verse by making them into strengths she's proud of-and turning them on Indiana or making them cheeky. She even references his age and out of touch nature several times. >I'm the first wet dream gamers ever had, you're an halloween costume for out of shape dad's >Junior? The baby boomer beating me at rapping? Just like my nude codes (never gonna happen)
Yeah, as much as I think that they are exploiting the character for money...damn if she isn't still one of my male fantasies...lol...sexuality isn't inherently bad, and the original creators did such a good job of creating a sexy, capable, and badass female protagonist...that it has allowed others to exploit it to this day...so I don't blame anyone who enjoys the Tomb Raider games...as a child of the 90's...she was one of my first looks at capable women who could either give you the time of your life, or beat the shit out of you...
The Big Bang line here refers to an episode of The Big Bang Theory did where Amy Farrah Fowler pointed out to Sheldon that the plot to Indiana Jones Raiders of the lost Ark would have been the same had Indiana not been in the story. The bad guys still would have found the Ark took it to the island and opened it and they would have found it sooner had Indiana not had the medallion.
True, but Fowler was flawed in her logic. The Ark WOULD HAVE killed all the assembled Nazis, regardless. But then it would have been left sitting there. Out in the open. Just.....sitting there. Waiting for the next poor fool to open it. And the next fool. And the next. Indy needed to be there to get it into the hands of people who would actually do the right thing: lock it away from the world and leave it to be forgotten. I already left this reply to someone else. If that was you, apologies. I didn't read names lol.
It was really a close one, I understand is your personal opinion, but Indiana's lines were fire (insulting her directly with the fact that she was made so kids wouod be attracted to her) and is understandable that Indi thinks that way cuz he represents the 80's regular alpha male heroe that kills bad guys and gets babes.
Woooooo, yeah baby, that's what I've been waiting for, that's it's all about! - me seeing your breakdown upload. Are you planning to check newest Freshy halloween battle? I would love it's breakdown, but I'd advice you to play it in a little parts before going back, it's really, really hype battle
The only reason I dislike Indiana's "corrupting the youth" line is due to his first round. He started by complaining that she's now "too woke to be fun" since she'd lost chest size and dressed less sexually. It comes across as a conflicting bar for me. Despite that, I think he still has some fire bars but ultimately lost to Lara.
They wanted Laura to win you can't really diss indy on much the real biggest thing is the Marion thing indy has alot more ammo on her it just felt unfair
there are TON of things you can say about Indiana Jones and she kinda address some of them, what are you talking about? Poor son, poor dad, sexist, mysoginist, old and surpassed way of view, kinda rapey (like al the 80s male figures), not very bright in SO many scenes, easily to capture, easily to defeat, he really was useless in the first movie... have I to keep going?
So, I don't think this was as much a slaughter as you made it out to be. That said, from sloppy seconds to the end of the verse...the writing, acting, blocking, and rapping was one of the best fully fleshed sequences ERB has ever done. It's closer than you'd maybe think, but that's only because Lara steamrolled him in the last few bars of her final verse.
She said “I’m the first wet dream gamers ever had”. And “this is one temple you’ll never be exploring.” If she is going to use her over sexualization as a bar then she can definitely be dissed for it without it being a bad thing. And it’s apart of his character to be a boomer so I don’t see the problem this time.
16:30 Yeah, the only decent Indian Jones games were made by Lucas Arts...and that was so much more the studio than the property...Indiana Jones for Atari and NES were both dreadful (Has PTSD flashback of falling from platforms, not knowing how height works in this 8-bit ass fest)...
Im fine with whomever someone picks as this was the closest erb in my eyes. I choose Indiana as Peter did so amazing talking like Harrison Ford, his lines hit harder, she is a sexualized clone taken from Indiana, and the best and truest line now she is just FOREVER in Drake's shadow and that line about lil Wayne and Drake was both true and amazing. She was good too but just not as hard hitting, but she is gorgeous, does her lines well, and is so talented she even added a British accent. so its a 15 round split decision for Indiana for me
You're fine with Lara referencing and gloating about her own over sexualisation, but when Indiana refers to it at the beginning, it's a gross "boomer take". You say you're not being woke, but I dunno, there's some weird double-standards there and some bad takes in general. This battle ain't the landslide victory that you make it out to be.
i gotta dissagree with the boomer stuff. Indi is old thats exacly what he would say to her in this situation xd The dude is a out of shaped explorer part time teacher what can you expect xd
