I understand why youve put lychguard and overlord low on the tier list, but from personal experience giving him dread majesty for the rerolls and fighting on an objective they absolutely slap and punch well above there weight. For +1 to hit free from the overlord +1 to wound re rolling 1s to hit and wound. In round 4 of Nottingham (you mentioned my list ieuan) they one shot a custodies dread. Im not sold on the catacoom command barge tho i love the model.
We put them in a spot where we can see you taking them but unfortunately to us there are just better options for the price and current meta. So many things just one shot them and they are incredibly slow with low OC. Just a bit too expensive for my tastes but its entirely up to you if you want ro run them! Well done on your 4-1 - Matt
I tried it a bunch in prep for Nottingham and for teams I think it has a role. But is it better than Starshatter, unfortunately the answer is no. It's better into some things that shatter isn't, Tyranids being one but it's worse into a whole lot more. - Matt
Great content! I've been looking for a while for some advanced competitive guidelines on Necrons specifically. Let me know if you are running training/mentoring things - really interested into improving my Necrons game
Could you please explain in a lil bit how your list operates? More specifically the Skorpekh with -1 dmg enhancements. Which squad is he joining/or is he solo and where are you positioning him. Just to have -1 dmg on silent king or perhaps the 3 heavys etc. Much obliged
The skorpeth lord basically just roams around by himself and hands his buff to the reanimator early as I like to send it out to the middle objective because it's extremely hard to kill for it's points. Then he just buffs tsk or a DDA usually. He will go with the skorpeths if you're in a match up with a lot of monsters and vehicles to give your skorpeths Lethals!
Congrats on the result! Interesting to hear your views on Imotekh - I also struggle with wanting just a bit more stuff in my lists but not sure if I can bring myself to go without his CP generation.
@@joer5330 it's just an expensive package for me and it gets a little greedy when you can just do certain things ahead of time to make sure you won't need to be spending a lot of CP in a turn. Just my experience on it though!
Nice video chaps, the quality upgrade is noticeable. I’m opening up more to triarch praetorians, I think they can fill a similar role to skorpekhs and having deepstrike makes them an ingress threat.
This is a really good listen! Thank you for pushing me to try no Imotekh, I dislike expensive home holders. One question and one comment: Do you think the delta between wraiths and Lychguard is that much as tanky objective holder? As an Ophydians enjoyer I will say the unit I'm contrasting/cutting in favor of them is tomb blades, not Skorpekhs. They're more a scoring unit (for me at least) with a couple of alternate uses in some matchups than a melee msu trading piece
Feel free to ask any questions, I am always happy to answer. I think Wraiths do the job better, they do cost more but they are actually tanky rather than lychguard die in droves to damage 2 and even ap2 damage 1. The upside of lychguard is the overlord holding the reroll enhancement and the free strat use. We run the skorps so people cant sit behind walls and we can trade up close on objectives with small marine units but they dont die to a fresh breeze! - Matt
Enjoying the podcast guys! Congrats on the result Matt 🔥

Looking forward to hearing your take on the sledgehammer that just hit this detachment
We will be doing a Pod hopefully at the end of this week covering it and LVO - Matt

@@connornicholls9353 we just prefer skorps due to them being cheaper and tougher but I can see why you'd take either! Same argument for ophydians

well done on the 5-0 Matt
think of silent king being more of a hovercraft. Which hopefully you can agree doesnt actually fly. Hovering is most definitely not flying.
Wraiths fly so why can't my boy haha
