I wish my weed whacker would start with one tug! LOL While visiting the shops, how many beers did you have? LOL I can't wait for your next adventure. Thanks for sharing your day, Sean. 👍👍
Ooh yeah! Quince jelly - the best. Bluebells are one of my favourite Spring flowers along with Snowdrops and Lilly of the Valley. Beautiful garden and Keep moving forward Sean. Enjoy the famdamily ❤
I am continually amazed. There is nothing Hercules can't do. What a wonderful world he has made...and love his iron and copper purchases, gardens, journeys, too...and let us not forget the lions, Lady Sam, Lady Jasmine, Sir Tom, Sir Jack and the Queen Mother, at the castle........ totally engrossing tales of restoring the properties of yesteryear...so interesting and well presented....Thank you!!!
Absolutely agree never leave the grass up around the trees or plants. Always make a small area around them and put bark to stop the weeds and grass choking them. So much easier 😊😊
The garden is coming along so beautifully. I really love your bluebells and how much they mean to you and your family. Little by little things are popping up in my garden here south of Boston. Keep up the great work and keep staying healthy. All the best to you and your family, both two legged and four-legged, furry and non-furry😅😂
Lovely little fun space for the cats. It’s very satisfying watching you work around your property Sean weird of me I know. Love your purchases as well. I enjoyed your video thank you it’s a nice way for me to crack on with my day
Love when you’re out doing the yard work. Here in the Arizona desert we can’t really grow any of the plants you grow in Normandy - I love seeing the beautiful flowers and flowering trees.
The bluebells are lovely. I have some by my front door and some in the back garden. Did you know that the UK has 1/3 of the worlds bluebell population? They are all out now, so the countryside is just gorgeous. Wonderful plant. 🙂
Garden is looking good. The cattery, with its own little house. They must love it out there. The cottage will be warm as toast with all the insulation. Tom has a good idea about the small window, ideal light for a small dressing table or desk. Hope your family enjoyed all your hard work in the garden🎉 xx
All our young trees we don't let the grass grow near the trunk of the trees, we clear the grass away, alot less work when your mowing! Just a suggestion! Looks good!
Gardening enthusiast comment here...the English bluebells are the ones with stems that curve over. The ones that have straight stems are likely Spanish.
Those cats are gonna be very happy with their catio. Nice yard clean-up, and those bluebells are lovely. The cottage is coming along. Alas nice weather. I agree with Tom to keep the old small window. Very nice finds at the brocante.
What a beautiful property you and Sam have created! Great to see you back on your feet after the frustration of the injured ankle. It's hard maneuvering across different levels and stairs. Tom and Jasmine are such a credit to you both, and Jasmine's fiancé is as helpful as she is. ❤ I had a friend whose husband made a living building and installing sheds and "cat-ios." When I see your Kitty Condo I think of them!
Sean if you mulch around the trees you could cut around them with your trusty steed. Mulch should make it healthier for the trees. In the USA there was what was called a mason sash. It was a window frame that was installed on the inside of the window which gave you a double glazed window. What I would do is double glaze the sash making it a triple window. You dance well with the insulation roll. Nice bread bowls.
I have a Peony that my Grandmother planted back in 1923 in our yard. Mom got the house, and kept the peony growing all these years. Now I took a piece of it, and have three growing in my yard. And up until last year when my sister had it cut down. I was on my 3rd generation of an apple three. We regrow it from the trees apples each time. Would have tried a 4th time, but she did it in the spring before I had a chance of getting any apples.
Nice one looks like you're foot is better 👍🤗 Looks like the Kittens & their Mother are being spoilt rotten Look forward to seeing them playing in the play house👍🤗 Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Hey, you have to get a mattress up those stairs and you don't have a big window to get it thru. You can build the bedframe, cupboards and small tables in situ, but your mattress is not an old fashioned feather bed that can be squeezed thru small openings. Spiral stairs....I don't think that's a good idea.
Hi Sean, thanks for the weed eater tip…I have lots of that to do myself in the garden. Love your videos…. Especially bluebells…have them myself make a great display. We are heading Autumn in NZ. Remember yo take care of that ankle. Cheers Trish 🙏🙋♀️🌈
Rippa bird in the intro, got a black and white one pretty much the same all over cept the white yellow on yours. Nice play area for the cats, love the house, that'll provide some rain cover. Cateo I think you said? Nice instructive section on the insulation, my Dad didn't do it that way, and it didn't quite fit. Good 1 Sean, thanks m8, stay vertical Eh!
I'm just watching yesterday's video now and have a smile on my face as you take us on a tour of your garden and introducing us to the cat playhouse....good call Sam! The bluebells brought back memories for me as well as my Grandfather's property was full of them....very English and lovely. You are cracking on in fine style now Sean, looking good upstairs in the cottage. So happy to know that Tom is a great help to you....good son!
We were told we couldn’t install a spiral stairway because the stairs had to be of a certain size as a fire escape… The insurance wouldn’t cover it… Does that apply in France too???
Sean! It’s interesting that when you are working on the downstairs it looks somewhat small, but when you are upstairs it looks quite large. When you do the work on the stairs, will you try to make them less steep? That’s a wondering from a 76 year old guy!😅
Love the idea of a spiral staircase in the cottage 💯. It’s the most durable, space utilizing and architecturally beautiful. I would definitely go spiral.
You could make an insulated "bung" cover for that little window. Use it as a seat cushion when the weather is warm, then push it into the window frame to reduce heat loss when needed. I saw some that were made for the round windows on a narrow boat and thought it might be an idea for your little single glazed window.
I love your garden. It's so peaceful. I would love for you to give a tutorial on how to make the concrete mushrooms. I like the idea of a spiral staircase for the cottage.
I wish my weed whacker would start with one tug! LOL
While visiting the shops, how many beers did you have? LOL I can't wait for your next adventure.

Having company/visitors is great motivation😂

Love your Bluebells and the Blue Iris, s in the background. Feels like your cottage is coming on.
I could be wrong but I believe that the more acidic the soil the more vibrant the flower color.
Awesome work! The insulation will ensure that the cottage will last for another generation or three
It went smoothly putting the insulation on the roof. You become an expert in it.
Love the bluebells. In the garden at our previous house we had hundreds of bluebells, pink-bells and white-bells

I think the it would only be weird if you were watching Sean from the adjoining property with binoculars 😉😊😀
Love when you’re out doing the yard work. Here in the Arizona desert we can’t really grow any of the plants you grow in Normandy - I love seeing the beautiful flowers and flowering trees.
I would suggest move everything that is large, bulky or awkward in upstairs, then install the spiral staircase last.
The bluebells are lovely. I have some by my front door and some in the back garden. Did you know that the UK has 1/3 of the worlds bluebell population? They are all out now, so the countryside is just gorgeous. Wonderful plant. 🙂
I actually have some pink ones in the same flower bed as the blue ones!😮

Always enjoyable videos. Have a good time with your guests. xx
Sean, you have a very beautiful yard, so many and trees and flowers love it.
Love the addition to the Catio 😽❤️
Loved the story of the generational bluebells. Nice mix of content Sean, thanks!
The playhouse in the cat area is cute! ❤
Beautiful plants! Love the bluebells
Love the new addition to the catio! Good job on the insulation Sean!🙏❤️
What a treasure you have in Tom, a son to bounce ideas back and forth makes the job light hearted
Fantastic, well done keep going. Great work Sean. :)
All our young trees we don't let the grass grow near the trunk of the trees, we clear the grass away, alot less work when your mowing! Just a suggestion! Looks good!
Makes it easy to mow. Edging all the perimeters and trees gives a TIDY look!!!
Gardening enthusiast comment here...the English bluebells are the ones with stems that curve over. The ones that have straight stems are likely Spanish.
Glad that you are keeping the original skylight...

Pretty Bluebells !! Irises beautiful too.
Hope the best results for your exhibition !!! ,,pleased that your foot looks better...
Lily of the Valley has been passed down thru yhe generations. Rooy systems last 30 years!!!
Hello Sean hope your ankle is feeling better😊
Some men could take a leaf out of your book Sean. You're such a hard worker.
Your bluebells look a lot like our bluebonnets - the official flower of Texas. There are blue fields of them growing wild all over the state. 😊
You really collected some great items on your run about today!!
Nice work today.

I’ve always wanted to have quince growing in my yards…but I was a wheel that when moss collected I had to move!

Blue bells were my grandpa favorite.
Nice one looks like you're foot is better 👍🤗

Look forward to seeing them playing in the play house👍🤗

Thanks for the nod to my almamater! Michigan - Go Blue.

Hello Sean, well, made short work of getting the garden sorted out, also, getting the loft insulation up. So enjoyable!! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
My dad also used the round duct work piped to put around the truck. Worked great
Lovely garden! I just got the last of the snow melted in my yard last week.
Excellent video! I learn a lot from your videos!

I’d love to see a video on how you made the stone mushrooms 😊 I’ve made concrete globes for my garden but I’d love a mushroom or two ❤

I had Whitebells grow in amongst my Bluebells! I save the seeds from them and give them to friends to share them out!
Impressive!
Quince jelly is delicious. Haven’t had it for years.
I like ur michigan hat. I live in the sunrise side of the thumb.
Hello Sean and Sam
Hi Carson 😊

I see your wearing a Michigan hat on that’s the state I live in Great state of Michigan in the United States

Akways a bit further on!
❤🐨
best
keep in mind on the Spiral stairs is how are you going to place furniture up on the upper floor ? It will be a challenge. :D just a thought anyway.
Seans just told us... Leave a trap door next to the stairs
Brilliant idea too .
Great job
Waffle iron or galette iron? My husband's family is from Belgium. We have galette irons to make a waffle looking cookie.
🌟👏👍🍀💐
👍😎💖
Just wondering why your cats just dont go outside, is it because of the wildlife?
Yes and hunters and dogs
👋👍❤️
How much land do you usually mow?
Under 1 acre
Will you be building the staircase yourself ?
Probably
I love your garden. It's so peaceful. I would love for you to give a tutorial on how to make the concrete mushrooms. I like the idea of a spiral staircase for the cottage.
Sean, all that metal insulation stops telephone signal. A real pain in the arse. Just sayin ' !
No problem with that have it in my own house
