Personally I'd recommend house around farmland with maybe connection to some forest starting from backyard. A cabin surrounded by forest from all four sides is going to get you eaten alive by mosquitoes and horseflies in summer, the amounts that come each year are not a joke.
Having open fields next to the house brings some breeze in and offers less breeding spots for them, and fields with over expanding views are just lovely to look at around the year overall.
Nothing beats a lake cabin or house though, but those are snatched up pretty fast by the locals hunting for summer cabins.
Having no electricity or running clean water can become pretty hard pretty quickly. Some small old farm building come with their own wells, but filters would still be pretty good investment due to all the fun little amoebas that can invest an old well. Heating is the biggest issue that can be dealt with electric heating or having a firewood seller near and proper way of storing multiple cubic meters of them to keep stoves lit over the 8 months of cold.
Owning the land the house sits on is also much more preferable over renting, since having a landowner can cause problems if they're hard to reason with or if you get on their bad side. Alot of cabin feuds like road accesses have spurred from landownership issues and a landowner can dictate quite a bit over the land tenants, you'd have to ask permission to do pretty much anything on the land outside of the house itself.

Thats so true! Would be lovely🥰 This one just had a bit too many farms and stuff in the area! And not that much connecting forest. But yes to have fields would be amazing! Thanks

@@LivJagd-Nygaard If you aim for house next to forests you might also want to investigate who owns them also, since a lot of forests are actually owned by somebody and the trees might have been planted there specifically so that one day when they're large enough, the landowner comes and cuts down the entire huge area of trees to sell, leaving a barren wasteland of sticks, roots and stones behind for new saplings to get planted on. Buying a house or cabin next to these kind of "plantation forests" can bring s a nasty surprise when suddenly the entire forest gets pretty much cut down right next to the house.
This happens quite a bit here in Finland, not too sure of southern Sweden, but a Good way to spot these kinds of forests is to look at the forest from google maps and see if the trees stand in unnatural lines across the forest in clean sections almost, or if the forest only has one tree specie planted in it like pine wood.

Take my advice as a swede, with a father from Skåne, search more in Skåne, the closer to Öresund bridge the better!
Its this that my grandparents lived close to Malmö, in an area that wasnt that super productive agricultur land, they survived by selfsuffience agricultur and half time working at a big farm.. or rather my grandfathers parent did that! Those cottages is often cheap and close to a small village with a store and "some" comunal service!
Soo, take me advice and start explore Skåne, its quite big and even diversed! Malmö is a big city and part of "bigger copenhagen"! Falsterbo/Skanör on the south tip is where rich people live or have a cottage! Österlen is a place where former "skåningar now living in Stockholm"/artists/poets, kinda double the price! And then you have other areas like Göinge.. its more forested, more woods, creeks, bogs and smaler villages!
In anyway, take your time.. and understand that the price of the property tells you a lot about "that property" and the year around living condition in the area! (not included the bridge fee!)
    In anyway I love to tour Skåne and I altso love B&B, becuse one often comes closer to the area and the locals, so I often use ;

Thanks a lot for All the advice! I know Malmö Well since i live close to copenhagen…but i would accually like to be further away from the city, so being close to malmö isnt a plus for me! But i Will check out the foresty areas in the South of sweden as Well! Even though i would like to get more north.

@@LivJagd-Nygaard Nooo.. you dont need to go further north then Skåne!
Its this that cheap price and a cottage in the forest (preferely by a lake) is a big dream.. for any city dwellers!
Soo the city dwellers frome Kopenhagen and Malmö have alredy bought the best properties!
And then.. a swedish word "lagom".. there is still a lot of properties to buy, some closer to "bigger Kopenhagen", som farther away! And the rest is about being a property owner and how often one can or need to be there???
Its rather this thing that city dwellers dont know about and that is that on the countryside, one is dependent on nice neighbours! In best case for advice, in worst case if anything happen to ones cottage!

Congratulations on beginning your cottage hunting journey. You probably already know, but Roaming Wild Rosie resides in the area you visited, great channel to explore for cottage prospecters. Further south you have Småland if you like more forested areas, where the Danish couple Annie & Julian have a few cottages, be sure to check out their channel to.

Coming from Australia, it would be hard to not own the land , what if the land owner wants to build on it, would you have to move your home(. Just wondering)
