  • Hej!
In this video I tell a bit of a back story of how we ended up buying an old cottage in the north of Sweden and what needed to be done before we could move in.
    Cheers!

Only just found you, I’m very pleased I have! Your house is beautiful, it’s like a journal of secrets. As you peel back the layers it will be as if you are opening the pages of that journal. How exciting for you! I look forward to see that journey. I love your style of presentation, you have a very calming style.❤

Thank you, Mary! Renovation is fun, but also draining at times. Taking it nice and slow is the key, I guess, if the roof is not dripping! :)

I just love that you appreciate the old useful things , me too . I collect timber and metal and old fencing , etc. And try to do everything without contributing to new manufacturing . There is so much useful stuff that's already been made and is being wasted . Love finding your channel .
    Love , Skyval ❤

Hej, Skyval! Thank you so much! Indeed, there is so much great stuff made already that we can reuse or upgrade, I really appreciate you being on the same side

I noticed you have a lot of mushrooms on your land and that is great food for you also.

It is up to you and others to plant more trees, and manage the forrests that you can improve on. I dont know how big you property is, but also there can be nut, and fruit trees you can plant that not only give you a forest, but things you can eat to save from buying. Many trees can be grown from other trees and do not need to buy them either.

Hej! Oh yes, that's something I'd love to do! Mushrooms are great too, this summer was quite abundant, as it was more rainy than usual, and I still have some in the freezer! :)

How's it going, now that its spring? Now that the snow is melting, did you find the pieces to recycle that were lying around in the yard?^^
A little forest behind the house is priceless! And that mushroom with spiderwebs.... ❤
We won't have a forest behind our house, unfortunately, but instead we have lovely cows that look into our garden (and no big renovations to do 🤭😅).
But i guess you will have so much to look back at when you're sitting in your garden in a few years!

The snow is still melting! Honestly, it has indeed been the longest inter of my entire life! But the pieces are popping out now, so will need to handle it soon as I don't want that ugly rusty pile stay too long in our front yard :D
Cows looks like an awesome company and you can always plant your own forest

@ninehornedelk the cows are on a field full of apple trees, at least 😄
I'm so curious what your renovation will look like this year in summer. Like, in 2 weeks or so. ☀️🤣

There is a law that says that we have to plant within about 3 years . Then we can start all over and right now it is important to mix spruce , pinetrees with leaftrees. This makes a more sturdier Forrest which Will not be as sensitive to heat and storms. In the 1600s and back we did not have so much spruce . The landscape was much lighter. In a couple of years you Will be able to pick wild rasberries on the parts that have been planted.

Hi! For the moment, unfortunately, I've seen only the cutting, but no replanting, I hope they will do it soon! I believe Nature has the power to restore herself once the human feet leaves the ground, but it takes time. I won't live to the days those trees will be magnificent and giving shade and shelter though... Deciduous trees, like oaks and linden, is something I miss here a lot! I hope to be able to plant some and see if they will survive the harsh winters! :)

I hope so too haha. We kept quite a few things we thought interesting, but most of the stuff was just garbage. There is yet a lot of things left to sort out!
