what's your honest opinion about these ampeg amps? I think maybe the recent "hype" has raised expectations a bit too much, hindering the first listen/play impression a bit...

I love this amp, hands down my favorite solid state amp I own, but I’m not going to deny that the legend and rarity may out weigh the actual sound that they produce. There’s a Jaguar blended in this which is not my fav setup, but they do sound unique, and the gain on tap is undeniable. Check out my recent track Unjust and lmk what you think of the tones, that the VH150 through V30’s.

If you want an amp that has enough gain for death metal that will melt your face off, its the best. Very versitile without any pedals. It's my favorite tone other than HM-2's
