When I got my first business card I walked entire neighborhoods knocking door to door introducing myself and I remember the homeowners saying how bold and admirable they felt that was. I gained several jobs in that development by the way!
My problem is I hate money 😩. Because without it ,you can’t give your family the life they deserve ,or have any comfort. I do this so I can make sure my family will have tools and know how to use them to survive as we know times only getting harder. I love the things it allows me to do with my family and few friends that’s it. Mabey that’s why I’m struggling because the lack of love for money i just seen it break to many families apart including mine growing up so it’s tough to say I love it 😤 I just need it and a lot to do what I want and to leave behind what I want .
I am very appreciated that you put such great tips for free on RUclips , I am enjoy to watch your video, straight forward, right to the point .There are thousands of struggling contractors out there, but only 14k subscribers in this channel. You will get 1 million subs very quickly . Keep up the great work, thank you.
Thanks to your specialty trade l was able to refine my skills to match the craziest of I.D. color swatches. You guys offer the best high end customers 🙌🏼.
i like how passionate you are about business, so much so you tell ppl not to only watch your content. its true tho, its pro-active. i know im complacent for that. Thanks.
Love this guy!!! By far provides the best, most realistic, and helpful information I have found to help me through the ups and downs of my small startup remodeling business! Plus he fires my ass up to grind more when Im worn out and telling myself Ive done all I can do!💪🏼.
Watched my first Contractors fight video today and I found it to be a very helpful video. I love the no holds bar attitude and will be watching it for more information and advice.
Your advice is great I just put my door decals on tonight my company name and number. Been listening to you alot and try to go full time like you said and stack up jobs to keep employees
This is Jesse with Jesse’s welding and fabrication I have started a service that offers mobile welding and fabrication as well as installation of monorail equipment, conveyor systems,24 hours service calls on heavy equipment repair as well love your energy and advice that you bring to your viewers
All the stuff that you say on your channel, especially this episode, is epic! Please, if you haven't already, tell the people in more detail about how important it is to get budget numbers from prospects as soon as possible. It truly saves a lot of worries and time when you know whether your potential customer can afford you or not. Sincerely, Red Robin Painting
Great content. I would add that maybe the most powerful marketing tool of all is your quality of work/customer experience. Even if you don't get many jobs when you're starting, if you leave a good impression and the customer has a good experience with you, they will tell other people or they may mention your company in a facebook comment, or a google review, or they call you again if they need your services etc. word of mouth and product quality are super powerful as your main marketing approach
Man i have been remodeling for 18 years i went on my own for three years and got stressed about finding reliable help now i took a year and a have off to to something else but handyman work is my passion so I thought about it for that year and a half ai started a handyman business and change a lot of thing i had done wrong the first time and my buddy was bragging on and i told a lot of stuff you just said sounds like you learned the hard way also but doing good now now i found your videos i hope it make me better cause we think a lot alike
Brother! Thank you 🙏 I haven’t knock on the doors 🤦♂️ but I guarantee you I’ll use that script and there’s no way I won’t get at least 5 jobs out that trick.
i set out to meet everyone in my town of 15,000 attended community everts, attended several churches over the weekend made 3-4, i am the promoter for local carshow, been asked to help with local charity put on city wide event. Time to use my head for more than a hat rack and bumping onto things.
Brother, you so right. Sadly I've failed badly on the marketing part of my business. I'm a carpenter, and I've always had business coming in on a regular never really had the need to market. But what I've realized is I'm not breaking even financially. I'm apparently treating my business as a hubby. Its been 8 years now, and I'm worried that it might be too late.
@@jessedevlin9489 I most certainly hear and agree with you. Already made some moves yesterday. And I have to start thinking of a way to include it in the structure of my business
I don’t understand how you just “start” a business without marketing, without going out there and finding customers and putting yourself out there, how the fuck do you get customers from that.
I love your tip about talking to the five neighbors, but how would you adapt the pitch for jobs that typically last under an hour and aren’t typically an inconvenience for the neighbors?
I was thinking the same thing and I came up with something that may cost some money but could pay back in time and that is giving them a business card along with something material that has your logo and can very use it in there everyday routine .
i should make a video as you have done for those that have a need. Tiis time of year is slow for me. I see yard signs looks like something for sale, not a business. I let my work be my advertising. Then my referrals provide leads and work. I plan to do some heavy duty marketing other than the print or social media crap.
I’m just wondering if you post on FB don’t you need a lot of friends first? Groups on FB do not allow people to drop into the group or join a group to advertise yourself. I am afraid I don’t understand why people tell me to post a video on FB when I don’t have followers.
I'm sorry that this isn't the right channel for you. Luckily there are many great content creators out there. You'll definitely find one that presents content in a way that suits you.
Marketing is the toughest due to the many options of doing so. At the end of the day, the best marketing is 'Word of Mouth' or even 'Good Old Fashion Mail'. Digital is oversaturated, Important but saturated. - My clientele is in the commercial sector, mostly direct to owner, so we advertise direct to the owner, obviously. The owners of the places we work in are Doctors, Lawyers, Developers, Property Owners of Office and Multi-Family. - Advertising to a millionaire clientele that is also busy working works best when direct. For Example, I never leave sample boxes with the receptionist. I send it in the mail with direction to the actual person that has access to pay me, receptionist don't write checks for $100K. I use LinkedIn to also find address, names, websites, and all that good shit of the people I need to be in the way of. - Always go direct to who is paying for your services. 3rd Parties (GC's, Architects, Interior Designers, etc) just get in the way. Not all of them, but most of them.
