Sorry I do not like German bread... I'm just honest your bread is overrated. It's just my opinion. I can say that you can buy Lithuanian Natural Completely Bio Ecological home made Lithuanian bread 2 pieces I forgot how much KG it is it will last about 8 Months It Cost over 100 Euro 💶 it's a Fact.
@ugnikalnis That's fine 🙂 In my experience, regular supermarket bread in Lithuania is better than German bread from a bakery. But they are exceptions. Quality and variety have declined here through the past years. Finding a good bakery has become challenging.
Cottage cheese is underrated. We eat it plain, sweetened, add to pancakes or cakes, as a filling to crepes, even as a variant for kuegel. All of these in a sense can be included as 'traditional'. Another thing I was days old to find out, was that Bagels apparently originated from here, Lithuania. Jewish refugees brougt it westwards. Sadly, it is not popular here
I visited your ountry with 3 thai friends of min (from Bangkok) during 13-15 June - The first time to explore Lithuania. So I have to say I am fallen in love of Lithuanen. Sure, next spring I will visit Lithuania and explore more, maybe stay for one week.. Then I will eat traditional food every day. Thank you for the video clip.. Hav A Nice Day! Best Wishes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN
I thought Lithuanian cuisine is very similar to Polish, but the kastinys, baked cottage cheese and "apple cheese" got me. Regarding Lithuanian beers, what brand would you personally recommend to try?
It really depends on your taste. I'm not much of a beer connoisseur 😁 but if you want to know I can say that I prefer dark beer, so I liked the one from Biržai, Rinkuškių juodasis, also more widely available Vilniaus alus, Švyturio Baltijos dark beer from Klaipėda. But there are many that I didn't try, so I can't say that others are not as good 🙂 Beer pubs in Vilnius have lots of various small brands too, so basically there are no limits of trying all kinds of beers
I know what Side dish You aiming for about it's called Žirniai su spirgučiais copy this n you will find recipe. It's a delicious if it's made right! Skanaus. Tip if you taste it n u feel peas are dry you done something wrong.
Always fascinating but….now I’m hungry.
What a fantastic way to start the weekend. The bread in Lithuania is fantastic, even for a German. 😉
Thank you very much for the new video!

What is the side dish of yellow splits peas and speck. Sometime cooked in beer?
Maybe try searching for a variation with gray peas. I believe that may be the traditional method.
