  • 🏍️ Back in the Saddle: Learning to ride a Harley Davidson at Las Vegas Harley-Davidson on the strip.
Matt, a seasoned rider, introduced me to a couple of Softails. The first bike I rode was a Softail Slim and the second was a Softail Standard. Watch as I explore the basics, from light throttle control to cornering, all captured under the vast Nevada sky.

Take it easy. Err on the side of caution. Empty parking lot and good crash bar to work on your cornering. Guard your clutch until you get some more experience. Expect no cars to see you. You’ll be a good rider in no time! 🤙🏽

This definitely isn’t reality this dude is in his own head. He is shaking his hand in pain after 5 minutes in a parking lot. #1 rule after you under the basics of throttle brake and friction zone is to just commit dont slow down on turns thinking turning your bars too far lands you on the ground. I was having anxiety watching this guy and i ride. He is what i refer to is a foot dragger. Those guys that feel like the need to keep their feet on the ground way too long. Once tou have momentum you are good. No need to drag feet

Better work on your hand strength, you keep shaking off your left hand. Keep that right foot on the pegs, you’re going to break your leg. Yeah take the beginner class again, that would be a great idea. Research Ride like a Pro on YT you will learn a lot 😎

I'd like to give you an opinion of a person who's been riding 11 years, and I clearly remember my beginner stage.
Don't get the expensive Harley Davidson for your first bike. Everybody drops their first bike. Start off with something fairly inexpensive like a Vstar 950 or something. Spend a season or two getting used to making all of your beginner mistakes on that. Gain the wisdom and knowledge. First bike : The question is not IF you'll drop it. The question is WHEN you'll drop it. IF you're set on a Harley, then a used Iron 1200 should suit your beginner needs. 883's are a little weak IMHO. You'll get used to the 883 too quickly, and the 1200 accelerates better for safer passing.
Then later, when you've had some experience ...get the bigger Harley. Make it your forever bike.

@@poseidon5003 LOL. That's a matter of opinion. Lot's of power and speed for me, I am in it for the ride, not the speed. If I wanted speed, then I would have bought a racing bike.
