The unused hit art is not unused. The hint art can be seen in the news tab accessible from the home screen. The crescent moon, new donk city, triangles in the sky, and random blocks are all in the news tab. When you go and ground pound in the secret location an 8-bit Luigi will pop out of the ground and coins will fly out of his head simmilar to what happens when you hit the hidden 8-bit Marios scattered around the 13 worlds.
It seems like that might be true because all the other costumes he mentioned are in the game now except for the Link one. Although it could have also been that for some reason they only wanted to have costumes that Mario had already worn somewhere and costumes from characters that are in the same universe as Mario. Which explains why he can have, for example, a Diddy Kong costume but not a Link one.
Some of the “temporary” hint arts were released onto the Mario Odyssey News Forum as locations of various 8-Bit characters that pop out of the floor when the area in the art was ground pounded and will reward the player with numerous coins!
Hope you guys enjoy this LOST BIT :) Sorry if I sound extra nasally :/ pretty stuffed up this week. WHAT OTHER MARIO COSTUMES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN THIS GAME IN THE FUTURE??? Also, JOIN MY DiSCORD: discord.gg/qxNJzgx
There are actually professional graffiti artists who are paid to create beautiful pieces of art around the world. You can see good examples of this commonly in England! Not all graffiti is illegal, and talking about it definitely won't get you in trouble unless you state you've done the acts that make it illegal or that you will do so, i.e., trespassing, vandalism, etc. I would seriously suggest looking at some of the legal art though as it's not hard to find online, it's spectacular!

About the 6258. It could possibly be revealing Mario's birthday (6/2/58). In an interview, Shigeru Miyamoto said Mario is about 24-25 years old. Though Mario debuted in 1981, he was not named "Mario" until the release of Donkey Kong Junior in August 1982 (24 years after 1958). Mario Bros was released 14 July, 1983 (25 years after 1958).
people wonder what was super mario odyssey? till they searched the internet and found out that its a retro game back in 2017 welp back to playing millinos of cod rip offs
Well, it has gone pretty far. SciresM among some others in the Reswitched team found the private key for FW 3.0.1 (the minimum firmware for Mario Odyssey), so dumped the xci of Odyssey, then he used a python script he made to extract the xci with the private key, giving the files. The files were then sent to RandomTalkingBush since he made a working extractor for the many file formats in the game files that are altered from their Wii U formats (SZS, BFRES, BFLIM, etc.). RandomTalkingBush documented the many unused things found on TCRF and his twitter, and he was most likely the one to release all the music (he never confirmed he did) from the game onto HCS64.
The 8-bit version of the Multi-Moon theme for NDC Festival was probably going to be used as the theme if you selected 8-bit festival and collected the Multi-Moon. In the final game, replaying _A Traditional Festival!_ removes the Multi-Moon entirely. This would've have been the only recollectible Multi-Moon if it wasn't scrapped because you can recollect every Multi-Moon in Peach's Castle, Rabbit Ridge and Culmina Crater.
The license plate thing only happens on broken down taxis. It happens because, when they decided to change the license plate numbers to 1981, they forgot to update the model of broken down taxis. You can see even without the filter that the model doesn’t match up with the texture.
Just got the Rango outfit yesterday. Now watching this video for the first time, it blew my mind with all the files being revealed as actual costumes now.
Most of those unused costumes were added in updates, like the Satellaview and the conductor one. And since the zombie outfit came out a few weeks before Halloween, I'm pretty sure this unused Santa thingy will be officially put in-game for a Christmas update or somethin'.
Quick thing about Isle Delfino. In the intro of Sunshine, it was in an archipelago. It wouldn't make sense for just Isle Delfino to be on the map. I nearly forgot about this, actually...
Hey, I don't think those hint arts are unused. They are most likely for future updates. The one with the two inverted Pyramids was tweeted out by Nintendo of America and it led to an 8-bit Luigi. With this new piece of info it could be possible that more updates could be coming to the game :)
Hey, SMO speedrunner here. I just wanted to say that as of the latest version, a lot of those "unused" Hint Arts were actually added into the game as Luigi pixel arts that give you *200 coins when you ground pound them. We use them in some speedrun categories to get coins quickly. To clarify, I don't think you can ever actually see those Hint Art images in the game without hacking. But, if you ground pound at the location that the Hint Art directs you to, you will find a Luigi pixel art, or sometimes another character. Also, the solution to the Hint Art at 11:36 is actually in the pool on top of one of the nearby buildings.
wow after watching this around this date, half of the outfits and the hint art have been released/shown in the newsfeed for a little captain toad sprite
11:37 that hint I just solved today... When I was messing around near the pool.. I think about the hint in this video.. When I ground pound in the moon Luigi gave me free coins... Tetra if your reading this... I might not be the only one to solve it but I solved it right!? :)
They turned those extra hint art pieces into hidden Luigis. I'm actually shocked about this- 11:38 is actually located in the pool at the top of the tall building in the top right of New Donk City. The pool has the same image.
13:20 the coin filtrer shows the normal map with a yellow color, i think that the non-moving cars has an albedo map of one number but the normal map of another. if you dont know what is a normal map, google it.
Dustin O'connor there wouldn’t be much except face plates and unused Grand Prix sprites, also it’s a port so they removed the unused stuff from the wii u
I need to know what 6258 is... after a good 15 minutes of research without finding any answers, subreddits, theories, or explanations; I did some research myself. It could be attributed to a Japanese mechanical industry company, but I cant find any records of affiliation between them and nintendo. It could also be the address of a place about 100 km away from nintendo HQ in Japan, but there isn't anything else special about that address. Maybe it's some ID used in the programming like a certain color or coordinate or something. I don't know much about that though. Does anyone have any leads I missed?
Super Mario Bros was released on September 13 of 1985 in japan, and the NA release is unknown, other than it being 85 or early 86. Europe and Australia it came out in 87, so that wouldnt be it either.
There's no concrete evidence that Mario came out on the NES launch day in the US, though this is coming from the wikipedia on Mario 1, so some things could be wrong
"The game's concrete North American release date is unknown and is frequently debated; despite generally being cited as having been released alongside the NES in October of 1985 as a launch title, several other sources conflict with this statement, suggesting that the game may have released in other varying time frames ranging from November of 1985 to early 1986."
