Always liked the 3 door Nova. It's the wheel arch blisters that make it. My first car was a '84 1.0 Nova in 1990. It was only 5 & 1/2 years old, but it was like a sieve. Holes everywhere, most worryingly in the left hand A pillar just behind the wing. When it rained the car used to fill with water. I only discovered the leak after a mate spotted mushrooms growing on the carpet in the passenger footwell.
@@chrismills9346 , I stripped the carpet & sound deadening out and after it rained I used to push the rubber bungs in the floors out to drain out the water. Rather than unbolt the wing and repair the A pillar properly my Dad just filled the gaps between the wings and A pillars with clear silicone. I guess he wasn't too bothered about the car being structurally safe.
Really smart looking nova, I’d keep the outside the same but smarten the interior up a little bit with some nice seats. The good old nova days. Did anyone else have the 1.5TD unreal how quick these were, just pulled in every gear
@@anthonyplaskett64 they were unreal engines, my mate bought 1 aswell when he realised how quick they were. I went on to by the corsa with same engine but it wasn’t anywhere near it
@@anthonyplaskett64 my nova had the Isuzu and they must have changed them in the corsa, massive difference between them I couldn’t believe it. My nova TD was just as quick as my dads mates nova gte if not quicker
Absolutely love this car, reminds me so much of my old Nova red top I built back in 97 with twin 45's and then turbo in it in 98 loved that car, would definitely keep the grey just looks ace, great package and so well built, good work 🙌

I've just nearly finished my nova just has to go to paint now and she's done, I can say I've spent alot more than 4k on it, be near on 10k, I've only put a redtop in it aswell, I was going to put a z20leh in but I really wanted to try keep the nostalgia of the early 90's. Nice build tho good to see another one saved and who knows I might see you at some shows this next year. All the best to everyone

Gotta love builds like this, especially being a Corsa guy myself aswell (driving a B though, not the Nova) :) One thing that baffles me though is how you guys can get these monsters through inspection and street legal? Atleast in Finland the builds are extremely tightly regulated and a conversion like this would never be street legal here. I think the biggest you can legally go here is to engine swap to the biggest factory engine they produced the car with (probably the 1.6l petrol) and even then you would have to swap all the brakes, suspension and everything to match the original big engine version to pass it. Sometimes I wish I lived in America or some other crazy country where some states don't have inspection at all and you can drive whatever crazy and deadly bucket you end up with :D The little boy inside of me does anyways
In the UK, drop any engine you want in! Quick mot and tax it job done. Unless you want to tell the dvla it's got a bigger engine and pay more insurance and tax.
You should make a video of the one car that's really surprised you. Just a little recap of them all and then the one that took you by surprise 😮 be a good a watch

They were the twockers weapon of choice back in the day round where I lived, a spoon would open and start them
