That lady is so talented. Her work with meatloaf and queen is amazing. She did a live performance with meatloaf for the song “I’d do anything for love” made the hairs on back of your neck stand up her part on the extended version from 90’s I think was one of the best live performances ever!
Patti and Freddie are my top 2 Rock voices of all time. Truly. Patti's range, her timbre are out of this world. Her voice consumes your soul in just the same way as Freddie's. Normal voices just sound weak and weedy against theirs.
She has the right mix of soaring vocals, stage presence and theatricality which made Freddie more than just the singer. George Michael is the only other person I've seen deliver a convincing performance of a Queen song live.
She may not be Queen, but, she does the song great in her own style, espeically with Brian May on guitar. And yes, he does look like he was wiping away tears at the end. Great performance
Best version since Freddy. Nobody near as good. The power control emotion has it all. She is the best female vocalist I've ever heard could listen to her all day and everyday.
I love Patti Russo's version of this song. I also love Delta Goodrem's stripped down (piano based) cover of the song. Delta, as someone who survived cancer at a young age, probably understood exactly how Freddie felt when he sang the song.
Patti Russo.........one of the greatest female voices of out time. She doesn't get the recognition she deserves. Always been a fan, and always will. She oozes sexy in a classy way. Not like the crap we see now a days.
OMG, the wife has just said something i've never considered "shame Freddie's dead, they could have sung together". Fuck me, a duet between those two would have rocked the heavens 8)
Her voice, her stage presence and theatrical talent is unbelievable! She is a rock-n-roll goddess! I love the power in her voice and then in a millisecond she can sound like a dove! He performance of “I’d do anything for love” is out of this world, one second she roars like a lioness and the next second she is melting you with the most beautiful feminine voice! And she is a looker as well, she should of been in the video instead of Dana Patrick! I do not listen to or follow many female vocalists, but Patti hands down is my favorite!
Freddie is Freddie! There will never be another like him, but this woman can sing. People have been sleeping on Patti Russo for years and only associate her with Meat Loaf. Not fair at all to her. Also R.I.P Freddie and Meat
Used to see Patti every Thursday night on the upper east side NYC Early 90s I used to bartend in the bar.... I remember when Meatloaf hired her But until a few mins ago I didnt know she performed with Queen....WOW
WOW! First time I've seen Patti and Queen. Paul Rogers was great too, but if I had my choice, I definitely have chosen to see Patti filling the vacant slot....She is wonderful!
@theflyingmouse She's on practically every Meat Loaf album since Bat II. But sure, she should have her own CD... wouldn't even mind if it was all covers.
Cannot believe Meatloafs poor passing has made me come across this being a massive Queen fan! WOW she nailed one of my fave Queen songs, she does it better than Adam Lambert! Her microphone isn’t set up very well either, if that had have been on point it would have been EPIC!
It takes some voice to be able to pull this off to Mercury's standard and she does it. As close to replacing the Freddie sound live as anyone since George Michael. She has the stage craft too. Paul Rogers is a great rock singer but he wasn't "Queen". Patti is.
@Maurus Krispie, when you wrote this, it was probably 2015. That means Marc Martel had already been performing with Queen Extravaganza for three years. Your ignorance of Marc's performances is inexcusable, given your comment. Both Brian and Roger have described Marc's vocals as "identical" to Freddie's. Marc even fooled Roger on multiple occasions, when Roger thought he was listening to a track of Freddie singing, when it was actually Marc rehearsing.
@webaapje - He did, and I think I know why. She hit it all the notes perfectly, including all the high notes and with a similar feel to Freddie. I'm thinking he just wasn't ready for it and broke up. May also explain the slight mistake during his solo.
A lot better than Lambert! Amazing, no man, nor woman can come close to the Wonderful Freddie Mercury. Lots have tried, but failed miserably. Freddie 's voice did not need backing singers, only his band. God Bless You Freddie. Also, John Deacon kept his promise to not become part of the "New Queen". There is only One Queen Group. Freddie, Rock On. I am entitled to my opinion. If anyone dislikes what I have said? that is fine, You are entitled to your opinion too. God needed Freddie, to aid the Angels. Rock On Freddie. You will never be forgotten. 💖 Johannah, 😸 C & H.J. x
Wenn Freddy von seiner Wolke aus zugehört hat, dann lief ihm bestimmt eine Freudenträne über sein "verwischtes Make up" - Wenn die Show must go on, dann bitte schön mit solch einer Wahnsinns-Stimmgewalt, wie Patti sie hat!
I don't care what people say, Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in rock n roll history. As much as I like Russo I think it needs to be a guy who sings lead in Queen.
Patti is so good, to bad the world has theBritneys and other trailer trash producing sound pollution to contend with, instead of talent ability and hard work.
this is another band that made a bad choice. queen needs a front singer with a voice that is powerful. freddie had that voice then and patti has it now. the other band was inxs when they passed up jordis unga. for that twirp they got now. look guys stop picking people just because they are men ,if the talent happens to be a women hire her.
Definitely better than Paul Rodgers. While Rodgers is a great vocalist, his voice just doesn't seem to fit in just right with Queen songs. A matter of timbre and range, probably. Well, probably.
Such a beautiful and talented woman
That lady is so talented. Her work with meatloaf and queen is amazing. She did a live performance with meatloaf for the song “I’d do anything for love” made the hairs on back of your neck stand up her part on the extended version from 90’s I think was one of the best live performances ever!

Patti is Amazing... Freddie is smiling.
Love this woman!! Her performance is amazing!
She's so beautiful and her voice- awesome.❤
She has the right mix of soaring vocals, stage presence and theatricality which made Freddie more than just the singer. George Michael is the only other person I've seen deliver a convincing performance of a Queen song live.
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN,BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!!
She may not be Queen, but, she does the song great in her own style, espeically with Brian May on guitar. And yes, he does look like he was wiping away tears at the end. Great performance
one of the greatest vocalists ever.
Love this song and love Patti , great voice.
Wow! That woman's voice is a force of nature
Patti is a vocal goddess!!!! can't believe she did one of my absolute favorite Queen songs
Only someone with a huge voice can pull this sort of song off, which is why so many others have failed. My admiration for this woman only grows.
I Adore This Woman.
Best version since Freddy. Nobody near as good. The power control emotion has it all. She is the best female vocalist I've ever heard could listen to her all day and everyday.

Chills down my spine, the good kind. I LOVE Patti
She has a brilliant voice.
Freddie would have loved this! Keep the memory.
She was the best lead Queen has had since Freddy.
Patti is always great Amazing singer with Meat or anyone,,,, SHE ROCKS,
Patti, never disappoints
Rip buddy Freddy Mercury. Rip buddy meatloaf. Wow double power. Patti Russo and queen. Double rock the house
it's great to see this racking up good viewing figures. more people need to know about patti.
Meatloaf found a gem. Boy what a voice has Patti got
Absolutely! Saw them in concert twice in the 90's - she's a great
partner for theatrical artists like Meat Loaf and Freddie Mercury.
OMG, the wife has just said something i've never considered "shame Freddie's dead, they could have sung together".
Fuck me, a duet between those two would have rocked the heavens 8)

i prefer lorraine over patti in that meat love song. but patti is great too.
Superb Freddie would be proud!! We miss you x
Amazing! That woman can sing with such power!
my fav female singer.

@@pattirusso8959
Those days were great
But you must admit in the meantime you have gained great success...you are so talented
WOW! First time I've seen Patti and Queen. Paul Rogers was great too, but if I had my choice, I definitely have chosen to see Patti filling the vacant slot....She is wonderful!
This is the best live cover version I've heard
Holy cow - She nailed that
Doesn't get much better than Meat Patti...what a powerful voice...
Patti u rock girl...Ready Freddie...!!
HOLY SHIT!!!! Wat een podium geweld! F**kin' LOVE IT!!!
Best Song, Best Singer... FACT!
What's an amazing voice! Thank's a lot for this video! )))
Patti Russo, wł. Patricia Rousseau ur. 20.05.1964 r. świętuje dzisiaj swoje urodziny, 200 lat i wszystkiego najlepszego droga jubilatko !.
God save the music of Queen ... yes sir.
patti is one of the very few singers who has the range to replace freddie. i wish she would. it would be queen '86 all over again!
Mrs Loud....Love Patti Russo....
PATTY IS GREAT !!!
Go Patti Go!!!
Wow ! Freddie is in her !
WHY THE HELL HASN'T THIS WOMAN GET A CD IN THE SHOPS??????????
Patti russo ur my lady
She is amazing :)
BRAVO PATTI. YOU WERE GREAT
Patti should have been the staple with brian and roger. She’s the BEST
@theflyingmouse She's on practically every Meat Loaf album since Bat II. But sure, she should have her own CD... wouldn't even mind if it was all covers.
Fabulous just fuckin fabulous
there is another video from this concert of patti doing "another one bites the dust". search is "queen's day live in holland 2002" part 2/6.
Cannot believe Meatloafs poor passing has made me come across this being a massive Queen fan! WOW she nailed one of my fave Queen songs, she does it better than Adam Lambert! Her microphone isn’t set up very well either, if that had have been on point it would have been EPIC!
MEMORIES....................... !
great song great band ..it took the whole band plus patti to sing this song together to try and make up the one voice of a legend freddie
❤
Dang, this is awesome , Thank's much

This has to the best female "Show must go on" performance ever.. really.. proove me wrong..
I reall like Paris Bennet's American Idol performance of this song. Queen was impressed by it, as well. I do love Patti Russo's version, as well.
@webaapje - He did, and I think I know why. She hit it all the notes perfectly, including all the high notes and with a similar feel to Freddie. I'm thinking he just wasn't ready for it and broke up. May also explain the slight mistake during his solo.
Sie hat das richtig gut gemacht! Freddy und Meatloaf werden begeistert sein!!!
For Heaven's sake! What's the hang-up with Meat Loaf? He'd be the first to admit that Patti is a star in her own right.
@donLuciny I love it...that's the thing about live...no net...sometimes you fall...even the greats...but he recuperated great!
She's better than Lambert
Not saying she's not good but not even close to the dynamics of Adam Lambert. He's brilliant!
She is the best. She gets no recognition one of hardest women in the industry. I miss her.
Very very much
A lot better than Lambert! Amazing, no man, nor woman can come close to the Wonderful Freddie Mercury. Lots have tried, but failed miserably. Better than Elton John's at the tribute concert.... Sorry Elton shes a class abouve when it comes to singing.
Check elton paris performance
Wenn Freddy von seiner Wolke aus zugehört hat, dann lief ihm bestimmt eine Freudenträne über sein "verwischtes Make up" - Wenn die Show must go on, dann bitte schön mit solch einer Wahnsinns-Stimmgewalt, wie Patti sie hat!
She should have been the new Queen singer. Missed the chance.
I don't care what people say, Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in rock n roll history. As much as I like Russo I think it needs to be a guy who sings lead in Queen.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON, even without the great FREDDIE MERCURY
yes she was
you'll find under pressure somewhere else on here. there's also a great version of don't stop me now. try natural woman too, it's superb!
"No-one But You", written to commemorate Freddie Mercury when he died of AIDs in... 1991 I think?
rather good version :)
Patti is so good, to bad the world has theBritneys and other trailer trash producing sound pollution to contend with, instead of talent ability and hard work.
Even without Freddy it worked. Who may be the blonde backrounder?
wish i could be there :(
YOU GO GIRL............................. !
Freddie and her would have been a great duo.. But what's doing Brian at 2:47 ?? :O
1:26.. Is Brian May 12 feet tall or is Patti 4 Ft nothing! : ) Great Voice! Nice video...
I've seen her live with Meat Loaf who is around 6'3" and Patti never looked really short but she usually was always wearing dresses and heels.
daje rade
BUT SHE DID FUCKING GREAT !!
@Herworth92 Search for this ,,Jeff Scott Soto - Queen Medley ,,
02:57 You're welcome. \m/
Would anyone like this on DVD - cheap recession prices available!!
this is another band that made a bad choice. queen needs a front singer with a voice that is powerful. freddie had that voice then and patti has it now. the other band was inxs when they passed up jordis unga. for that twirp they got now. look guys stop picking people just because they are men ,if the talent happens to be a women hire her.
It's a meatloaf patti burger. In Queensland.
Queen should have Patti and not Adam powerfull performance
@Herworth92 Check out ,Jeff Scott Soto, doing Queen.....you will be surprised
GO TO MARNIE696 SEE HER SING THIS. THE BEST COVER
Great performance, But God, I miss Freddy
which song starts after Show must go on.. ? (btw. Patti rocks!! :)
Queen should've recruited Patti instead of Paul Rodgers.....
Patti can take the worst song in music history and make it sound fantastic.
Patti Russo was the perfect choice for this. They should've moved forward with her instead of Paul Rogers.
Definitely better than Paul Rodgers.
While Rodgers is a great vocalist, his voice just doesn't seem to fit in just right with Queen songs.
A matter of timbre and range, probably.
Well, probably.
