Indeed . Those vocal harmonies are what does it for me in this song. It's that 60s 70s vibe with keeping it modern. I don't think I have heard anything being done similar .

On their page there are lyrics for two songs only. Until someone decides to copy these ones from the album or type them down, guess we need to pay attention to the song.
Both On An Island and Lucidity are recalling a past in both their lives, one sounds sad because they were looking back onto dark times and the latter is sad because those good times are gone, share the same vibe though.
The spiritual energy of this song. It's so beautiful. The words spoken by the vocalist was so ethereal. The authenticity of the instruments completed it all for me. Absolutely masterful.
That's what I call having musical intelligence. The band Soen expresses the sonic perfection so accurately that it's unthinkable not to be moved by it.
Everyone is going to see it or rather hear it through their own lenses/filters. Sorry. It doesn't make it any lesser than. I respect your admiration/confidence in the band though and I can dig where you are coming from non-the-less. We are both right though.
and of course Katatonia .but this album is way better than the last ones from opeth-katatonia. oooh and as much i like this album the same i don't "understand" tools music.can't say i dislike but...this is way better for MY ears.
Discovered this song last night and I could'nt stop listening to it. Then I woke up this morning and was announced that my grandmother passed away. I feel like I could not have found a better song to express how this all feels... Such a hauntingly beautiful piece of music. Thank you Soen.
Wow...I recommend a quality set of headphones and multiple listens. Such amazing production value and musicianship. Thanks for sharing with us SOEN. I hear you.
I'm so sorry to disagree, but this band DEMANDS not headphones, but a whole audio set so you can not only hear, but FEEL every instrument: the bass on your chest, the snare and drums in you body and all the band I'm your ears, arms and head.
Oh gods when a sultry blues riff weaves through a doomy ballad and ties it together with generations of sadness, you get an insight into the incredible ways that ancestry enfolds us
You can see how special this song is to the band, and how into the music every musician is cuz of how they close their eyes while playing. There’s nothing more beautiful to me than seeing artists get into the music like that.
@@lkwalden7 It's definitely a bigger jump than average, with Lacquer having no guitars, and Vanishers barely having any. But I think it fits pretty snugly in their discography. :)
I heard this song just couple of days before in vinyl store in Istanbul. I didn’t found any of needed records and was pretty frustrated about it, and then this song started. I had listened her till the end and leave the store with the think that nothing greater will not happen to me in this place 😁
Accidentally ran across this in 2021 for the first time. To think I've been listening to Opeth all these years and never made the former-drummer connection before. Definitely getting a lovely Opeth vibe, musically -- vocally, this is in a vibe of its own. I think this may be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Yesterday listening a spotify list, this song appeared, I thought it was Opeth. Today, when I looking for it again, I have discovered this spectacular band. I'd love it
I've been checking their work since their debut album but I have to say that this song has convinced me. It's really beautiful, the composition is more fluent now.
omg 6:03 took my soul... it had to run somewhere to cry uncontrollably under the spell of that poets wail... (i wasn't ready for such a peal of pure feeling getting poured out just then...💖)
This song is simply awesome, a master piece. Recently, I saw them in a show, is one of the best concerts I've ever seen. It was a dream come true listening Joel singing and give all his heart when he sang.

Every time a new band shows their talent and beauty, people feel threatened and become jealous. Negative comments ensue accompanied with petty and demeaning comparisons to other bands. Good god people give the band credit! They sound creative and amazing!
It gives me the vibe that Martin is a broken musician. He pours a lot of agresivity in some songs, but in others, like this, he shelters in his drums. I dont know, he is an incredibly sensitive musician, skilled and just one of his kind
Frankly, compared to their other soft or melodic songs, this takes the cake as the best one. Vocals are awesome, and the guitar makes the atmosphere so floaty. However, i'm really hankering for a giant heavy song much like void. We'll have to see what they have in store. From the ending of this video, the album might have a more ominous feel.
Dang that slide guitar gives it a very.. country sound but it's not country at all. It's like you took the heartbreak and melancholy in country songs and put it into a new context. I love it!
This is beautiful . Non the less, it sounds like a hybrid of many bands but all in all , if you know how to listen , you'll notice the different nuances . Brilliant and enchanting music on its own . ❄️

For sure. 4:18 says enough

Yep
Lyrics
In a purple robe
Throne of needles
Sailing to the sun
Reaching higher
Sleeping on a bed
Of broken bottles
Passing night and day
Wasting hours
Rings on the water caressing your hair
Touch of a mother so gently aware
Let the journey entice you to stay
Draped in water seduced to immerse
Lying on the grass
By the river
Captured by the moon
Barely breathing
Dreaming while awake
Moving slowly
Waiting for a change
Never coming
Can you see the danger
Within my eyes
Everyone’s a stranger
Wearing disguise
Rings on the water caressing your hair
Touch of a mother so gently aware
Let the journey allure you to stay
Let the water seduce you to immerse

Yes they are and I just rectified the ones posted. Thank you so much. Cheers!:)

I agree. :)
Besides the vibes, Opeth, Floyd and whatever you want to mention, his voice is absolute velvet
David Gilmour - On an Island
Both On An Island and Lucidity are recalling a past in both their lives, one sounds sad because they were looking back onto dark times and the latter is sad because those good times are gone, share the same vibe though.
Be told some other bands to comparison, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Riverside, but not important.
These lads are like the jazz of metal. They should not be compared to other bands. They are incredible in their own right.
This is soooo far from jazz, but I'd say this is a soul-metal song with elements of prog?

I love how subtle Lopez's drums are, discreetly accentuating with some tiny adornments here and there, but never dominating. Really superb
Yeah. There is certainly an artistry to holding back and he has mastered it. Also the guitars too.
This sounds like Soen. Not Opeth, not any other band. Only Soen. And it's hauntingly beautiful.
Everyone is going to see it or rather hear it through their own lenses/filters.
Sorry.

well being that they are a "supergroup" it's not surprising to hear familiar sounds
Music is worth little if it isn't built on something already done. That's how the progress is made.
well... this is very good but honestly Pink Floyd are really around the corner
Let's just agree to disagree then :) I cannot find Opeth in them. Nevertheless, one of the finest bands out there!!
Many influences,,,,great song...GILMOUR ...PINK FLOYD ..OPETH ..TOOL...this is the PROG¡¡¡¡¡¡ thanxs...SOEN
Fabián Sanhueza Vera Hey it's you

I hear some Steve Wilson influence in this too.

Thank You Spotify. For helping me find this gem!
Wow...I recommend a quality set of headphones and multiple listens. Such amazing production value and musicianship.

Headphones are an absolute must! I always cringe when I try to show somone a song and they play it on their tinny laptop speakers

Pure genius
This is the perfect example of how you make music, this is the required amount of soul and love it has to have.
It sounds like rain falling on the skin...Softly soaked with tears...
very peculiar feeling..

I'm so happy people are discovering soen! This has like 10x the views as when i discovered them a few years ago.
This is a life-giving song. And bless them, I don't think they realize how impactful Lucidity is to some of us metalheads.
It's been so long since I listened to a new artist that genuinely inspired me. But Soen hits the spot really well. Great band!

Everything it needed and not an ounce more. Perfection.
That voice though! Stellar vocalist
Me muero un poco más cada vez que lo escucho cantar...
I fallow them since 2012 and this is the song I come back to the most.
This is some pretty nice stuff, love the Katatonia, Floyd vibe on it...
Haven't heard them until now. But, I gotta tell, they're perfect.
This is hauntingly beautiful 🖤
There are songs which are amazing, playlist, just hit you every-time you hear them, those eights and nines.
And then there are tens.
That bass tone is sexy.

Different from the standard Soen style, still very enjoyable...
Very Floyd/Gilmourish and similar to Opeth's A Fair Judgement.
yeah, even the drum fills are similar :)
i'd say very deep purple like specially the little solo part
You could say its a bit different than their standard style, but a couple of tracks on Cognitive had this vibe
Thank you for the lovely concert in Athens, guys, you were top and amazingly friendly!
soen gets me the flow feeling, really enjoying their new productions. Such 'wide' feeling in their sound..
First time listening to them, at 2:40 got some shivers. I'm happy to discover new bands that are able to make me feel different sensations!

I ADORE 🥺 this song, 😅
So soulful....

BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait to see them in Hardlcub, Porto!
I came here because I was told that I would find a copy of Tool. I don't hear any of that, but I found an awesome band!

Where the heavy metal and where the jazz?
Beautiful track. This kind of has to be modeled after Gilmour's track "On An Island".
