@Ajay Vidyadhar Air travel is a service and you would expect utmost professionalism. Why do you say 15 minutes of negativity when it is an honest review of the ground situation and use this as an oppurtunity to course correct. That was really irresponsible from the cabin crew. I think taxi drivers earn their money in India driving around all day or night in polluted and congested traffic . The petrol in India is not cheap and the taxi needs maintenance . Most taxi rides in India , I have taken , have only cost me a few dollars on average and I always give the driver a tip . When I was in Tokyo , the train I was in going to the airport had to stop because of a death on the train track , I had to get a taxi and the taxi fare was almost $300 and the distance was not too far . Recently in Denmark , I got a taxi for a very short quick trip not much more than 5 minutes and the fare was $60 . I have noticed western travellers who travel to places like India grumble about paying small taxi fares yet in their own countries , the taxi fares are very high . In places like Germany and London , the taxi fares are very high . At the Sydney airport , the taxi driver who appeared to be a new resident to Australia tried to rip me off by charging me $50 to take me a very short distance to a Sydney airport hotel which was only about 2 minutes away by not using the regulated taxi meter which shows the correct fare .

Also check his whole catalogue please, he has held accountable shoddy service irrespective of the country so its not fair to simply bracket him as a third world hating reviewer. You look at his career and you see the fellow is genuine I did see the bit with the taxi driver but in all honesty more often than not if we see that the person isnt local we tend to rip them off unless ofcourse its a price regulated system like prebooked cabs or something. But that being said, granted he should have done his homework because its his job to review. So instead of assuming he should have checked it beforehand before simply accusing the cab driver.
04:58 - The actual taxi fare from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 will be about Rs 300/- which includes the parking fee for the cabs added to your bill. You got a cab from Departures which is prohibited and 200/- is not bad! 😅
Well this is the worst experience you can have with IndoGo and Go ... horrible . We had a priority checkin at hyderabad and there is No one to attend to - absolutely idiotic why they even charge for this shit experience. The inflight experience is even horrible and worst part the landing in Delhi was nightmare!
From a cabin crew point of view this is extremely worrying and irresponsible. If you want to keep items on the seat you MUST SECURE them, or put them under the seat, which you can't do on a bulkhead. I have seen bags rocket through cabins and they can hit you pretty hard.
Being an Indian, I can understand this approach to safety. Here safety is the last concern as in a way there are too many Indians around and human life is not that valuable. When something goes wrong which inevitably happens there is a some media frenzy and then it all goes back again to as before.
Will always prefer Indigo or some other full service carrier over Go Air now. I flew Go Air a very long time back but didn’t have much problems though. However, I like Indigo more than Go Air / First.
About safety, several years ago I flew JetAirways from YYZ to DEL. I was sitting in an emergency exit and I put an empty plastic water bottle in front of the door that was in front of me and I was reprimanded by a member of the cabin crew because it was a safety issue yet GO doesn't care if your carry on might cause evacuating passengers to trip.
Welcome to India. Indians have to accept poor practices despite enforcement protocols being present. They are unfortunately not enforced. A cultural and mindset issue. Let's hope that Go First see the video and initiate proper safety protocols.
An interesting & honest share. I agree with you Josh but for a native Indian, these aren't shocking, though we don't agree. Good negotiations with the cab driver 😂👌
Nothing wrong just needed airlines to take a look in safety once more no wrong fun fact go first has no accident record or fatal crashes till now and fun fact is that we are Indian we know what to do so you can take care of this in your country just look at American , delta each airlines best safety record and most crashes it’s nothing wrong with go airlines
@@bullymaguire2074 American cabs will go by meter. No negotiation needed in the first place. Hence your comparison is totally incorrect. Grow up and acknowledge the problems.
2 years ago I was on a Qatar flight and had the bulk head window seat. The 2 spaces next to me were taken by what looked like Doha nationals as they had the long robes on. They covered the floor in front of them with bags and and junk (literally what looked like crisp packets and food items). When I wanted to leave to use the toilet I had to lean against the wall and gently step in between their items which wasn’t easy as they just watched me and made no effort to move them. When It came to night they put their chairs back and put their feet out and also covered themselves in a blanket. Now when I needed to leave for the toilet, I had feet to avoid, plus it was dark and the blanket covered all the stuff in the footwell, I was so annoyed I just stepped on it all and whatever I stood on probably got crushed. I didn’t even think of it as being a safety issue at the time, just considered it rude and unthoughtful that they would block me in like that.
Steven, am not too surprised by the Doha national's behavior. They are the new bad boys of the Gulf. Earlier i.e. in the 70's & 80's it used to be Saudi, Kuwaiti & Emirati folks doing all sorts of nonsense on the their respective airline's. They would flirt with female passengers sitting next to them, annoy the crew - esp. females, demand alcohol, & do as though they are the airline owners. And, if you & I would object, we would get a mouthful & face the ire when the aircraft land at these A Gulf airports. Now, these Qatari's will flex their muscle, coz they know, the Qatar Gov. will take 'care' of them & bail them out whenever they get into trouble.
@@zxzv1 I flew million times with Qatar airways and Emirates and seated many times next to Arabs and they were not annoying at all except once the guy next to me was moving a lot to his friends seats and they will also come to our area to chat with him which is annoying attitude but to say all these people are annoying and disrespectful to others is not fair and shows ignorance. I travel frequently and I would say drank people by far are the worst
i am not a racist nor do i have a bias but i have encountered such boorish behaviour by the locals in emirates and also in the qatar airways they think it is their pvt jet
Wtf i could bever just sit there & look at you, trying to go pass my shit, littered all over the floor.. who dosen't move their stuff if it's in the way?! Except for maybe children.. Esp if it's difficult to go around.. That's just soo basic manners! Sooo, if you stepped on something by misstake, then YOU would be made the bad guy.
I have worked with Go Air as cabin Crew. We used to allow bags on the seat and 1st row behind bulkhead. This was never discussed in our safety training that bags are not allowed on 1st row or on the seats. It's Training departments fault
don't worry , this di@k head guy is racist to all our Indian airliners, I m wondering where he praised pakistan airline in safety, there service and all isn't it too downmarket ?! 😅
Other Airlines like American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Airlines, and SAS Scandinavian Airlines always ask their Passengers in the Front Row Seats, Bulkhead Areas, and Emergency Exits to store all bags in the Overhead Bins. I know this because I travel a lot.
Air India was the same before, but is sold now. (Privatization in India) The greatest airlines in India are IndiGo, and Vistara. I really hop wthat Air India brings massive changes like good crew, 5-star seats etc. as it's sold to TATA now.
When I was in India , I booked a domestic airline ticket at the airport official booking office for the airline , I told the customer officer 3 times where I wanted to go and when the ticket was issued after paying by bank card , it had the wrong city on the ticket and the airline booking officer refused in a rude manner to refund the money . It appears that the airline never went to the city that I requested the ticket to travel to . After about a month or more , my bank got the money back from the airline but the money should have been refunded immediately when a mistake was made . While most bookings go to plan in a friendly manner in India , it has taught me a lesson to write the destination down on paper instead of providing it through speaking only .
Last month i had a similar experience when i traveled from kuwait international to kannur international (kerala) in go first airline, i only had a 7kg single bag pack as my carry on baggage and when i entered the aircraft there was no space to keep my bag on the cabin compartment so they told that they will put my bag on the cargo hold and after some time they came back saying that cargo hold is also full so i will have to keep my bag under the seat where the legroom is already very small and when i insisted on finding a solution the cabin crew's attitude was very bad and then finally when other passengers interfered they adjusted the cabin compartment and squeezed my bag inside
When I travelled from Egypt to London by British Airways , I had a 7 kilo bag for cabin luggage when British Airways states you can take 20kilos of cabin luggage . The booking in officer tried to take the cabin baggage of me and put into the check-in luggage while other passengers behind me were allowed to take larger bags on board . As I was only transiting London with a stay of 10 hours at the airport , I wanted the bag with me in case it was lost in transit and I could not get back to the destination where I was flying to , if the bag was lost . If 20 kilos of cabin luggage is included in the fare , it should not be put into the check-in luggage sections
Working as a Purser I even asked a member of the royal family to not stow handluggage in front of the partition on the ground. I had to insist and in the end I put it in luggage bin and promised her to give it back after take off. I wouldn’t report cabin ready to cockpit crew if that piece of hand luggage wasn’t stowed properly.
Josh. Keep up the safety mantra. In the case of a high speed rejected take-off or landing excursion or other similar high speed incident, lose items become projectiles causing serious injury and, as you note, can block exits. Lapses in cabin safety by crew probably reveal a deeper safety culture at an airline. Man up on the curry though!
@@aslamnurfikri7640 this is the safety procedure while crew has to follow while checking the cockpit ( when captain wants to use washroom/ wants meals/tea coffee) when crew has to go inside the cockpit . So that's normal.
Odd they would tell you to move your bag out of the bin for someone else. You would think that the correct course of action would be to find another spot for that someone else or gatecheck his or her bag.
Luggage Handling department is very very worst in Go First Airlines, they totally damaged my trolley and after complaining also they didn't respond yet... #goair
I think he has been there many times and knows how much it usually is....we cant compare our money to other places money. If he normally payss 100 ruppes and this guy charged 200 that is a rip off .
Curious that a video about safety begins with a ride on what are arguably the most dangerous vehicles in the universe. Another curiosity about life in general is that there are people would never dare consider discussing the price of an exorbitantly expensive bottle of wine at a "high scale" restaurant but who will hammer down prices of things like taxi fares and t-shirts prices with people who are barely scraping by. For those doing international travel and visit the markets... respectfully suggested you occasionally pay the asking price thus bringing joy and a little bit extra to their lives.
Regarding the taxi fee. Josh's mistake was to attempt to negotiate the fee from inside the cab. This never works as once inside you have agreed implicitly with the fee. If you want to negotiate you must do it before entering the that way you can walk away and get another cab if you aren't happy with the price on offer.
The little things do matter especially with safety as they may be representative of an overall culture and attitude towards safety that extends upwards towards 'bigger' things than bags on seats ? It makes you wonder what other safety corners they may be cutting that you DON'T see? Accidents in aviation are nearly always the accumulation of many small errors, small corner cutting or small mistakes that build up into a bigger chain of causation
You got the cab cheap.. Would have been 280/320 ish if you had booked via any cab service (Uber/Ola).. Also, they do need to pay 100 for going inside T2 - which goes to Adani Group/AAI. Also, there are flights with 'cabin bag only - no check-in baggage. Don't know how you missed that.
Josh I loved the verbal jousting with the inter terminal taxi driver . India looks like a fantastic travel experience. The GO Air A320N looked smart shame about the safety issues tho . Great vlog 👍
You have captured the check in counter chaos really well. I experienced the same thing. 5 to 6 people cutting in front of me while i was talking to the agent, like I was invisible. The worst thing is that the agent keeps talking to them instead of discouraging them. Once inside the plane, I was asked by other passengers to go sit somewhere else because their partner has a seat next to mine. By the way the flight is only 1 hour duration. I politely told hem to buzzz off... My story is for another airline but the same chaos !!
I used to work for Indigo in the same airport and believe me if your at the counter where the queue starts or at the last counter in that row, people just walk up to your counter and start asking all sorts of questions they don’t care if your attending a passenger or doing something. They will keep calling you out until you listen to them and yes they will use any excuse possible to skip the check-in queue.
Hi Josh. My view is that in 2021, and wherever you are on the planet, you shouldn't have to point out any safety issues. We can discuss food, crew behaviour, cleaning, but safety issues are totally unacceptable nowadays. Unfortunately it still happens, even with some European majors sometimes. Hope to see you soon in Nigeria👍🏼
Looks like your bag was just a small problem. The cart across the aisle was much more worrying, even on the ground a quick evacuation could be necessary, but not with a cart in the way. Over my career I had three ground evacuations....
This is India my dear, most of them are so mannerless to just hop in when someone is already at the check in counter and has not finished yet. No social distance, no awareness, no consideration for others. Safety is always given the least priority, be it on the ground or in the air. Amazing video. Missed the loo review though😂 Hope Go First makes the necessary safety implementations in all their aircrafts.
Believe it or not, kind of same happened to me with United, from Chicago to Newark. When I boarded overhead bin was full so rather than checking in the suitcase, cabin crew had me put the suitcase “under the seat”. Now backpacks fit under the seat but suitcase does NOT. During the entire duration of the flight, I had to rest my feet on the suitcase which barely fit. Later I reported this to United but nobody responded.
U didn't talk about the spotless cabin which you usually point out and u didn't talk about the service of the crew...all u did was pointing safety flaws i guess this is not a complete review mate
I just flyed with GoFirst from CCU to BOM , they allowed to kept the baggage in upper deck , keeping the middle seat empty and even the senior cabin crew was very generous !!!! I think your suggestions had shaken them !!! Thanks mate ......
@@pshiva2603 Why should we apologize anyways? The people responsible for the misconduct, in this regard, Go Air, should be ashamed of themselves and render an apology to Josh. It’s not our fault that ways.
But they usually operate only 1 runway as the 2nd runway is a cross runway (not parallel) and operating both together is not as efficient/reduces total aircraft movement per hour.
My most unsafe cabin experience was also on an Indian carrier, very heavy wooden coat hangers with heavy duty metal hooks hanging off the back of each Business class seat for coats during take off and landing and children allowed to roam freely around the cabin for both as well.
Another reason they most likely do this by putting your luggage on the seat is because Indians have too much carry on and me as an ex Emirates check In agent I saw this way too many times and we had to offload many bags on full and oversold flights.
I'd like to share my experience with Go First flight from Surat to Kolkata where a found the safety to be compromised as well.Firstly, a gentleman sitting behind was on phone call. I assumed the cabin crew will ask him to switch it off, but she just ignored him and guy was taking on phone till the plane took off and he lost his signal. Secondly, few mins after takeoff when the seatbeat sign was turn off my copassrnger noticed that she had he seatbeat off the entire time and the crew didn't notice it during the before takeoff check. Also I noticed one of the seats in my row was reclined during takeoff but again it went unnoticed throughout the flight. Although the flight itself was quite comfortable but it was quite apparent that safety was not given proper attention.
Considering all the Bulldust with this flight I felt your response to it all was quite mild. I would have been stamping my foot before I had even boarded. Are you mellowing in your old age Josh? You human luggage strap you.
I flew Alliance Air recently from Mumbai to Bhuj on an ATR which departs from Terminal 2 (Ideal for me as I connected off an international flight), but involved taking a 15 minute bus airside to get to the aircraft which was parked outside T1.
This is quite different from what I experienced in November, 2019. It was from Guwahati to Bagdogra. As the flight path was right next to the Himalayan mountain range and a clear November sky, I tried to take as many photos as possible through the window with my camera. I literally went from front to the last, and came back, half a dozen time. Cabin crew was always there with a smile, not even complaining a bit. The flight was quite empty and I was roaming around different seats like a kid to get a clear view, from my lenses. At one time the flight encountered some minor turbulences, so I strapped in a vacant seat and informed the cabin crew to please secure my hefty camera bag with something, as it was initially left unattended. To my delight, they picked up the heavy bag and delivered it to me. Even when I’m siting at a different seat 💺, with a huge smile. I seriously have much appreciation for that cabin crew as my opinion they delivered first class service with a smile, even in a budget airliner.
Josh, have you ever been on board an airplane where an emergency, of any kind, occurred? And also, on board when an emergency with the plane itself happened? Curious, and frightened to fly.🙃
"You are on RUclips right now, I give you lots of business" Please Josh, the guy is not an idiot. Show some respect. "Think I've been terribly ripped off... deal of a lifetime.. Only me problem losing much money... I can drive to Delhi for 200 rs.. always fun getting ripped off in India, isn't it?" It's always good to first understand ground reality before you pass snide comments against someone who is simply trying to make a living. 1. The price of petrol (gasoline) in Mumbai is Rs.110/litre, more than what you offered to pay him initially. And considering that Mumbai to Delhi is 1,415 km, you won't even manage driving anywhere near that distance with Rs.200. 2. The distance to Terminal 1 is roughly 5 km and depending on the fuel efficiency of the car, that's almost a litre of petrol.. and cab fares usually include parking charges as well. So, your 200 is no where near to being a rip off. If anyone was ripped off here, it is the taxi guy. If everyone bargained him for 100 or 150, he'd barely make anything for himself. 3. As for your "losing much money" part, Rs.200 is around $2.6. Much money, huh? 4. Bet that an Uber ride would have cost you close to Rs.300. So much for being ripped off.
Regular safety check should be done regardless of someone raising awareness or not. Bad time doesn’t come before yelling at you, people could be dead if things are not taken seriously
I’d disembark. If that’s how they take baggage safety, what else are they missing. Budget means £1:50 to pee, not £10 more and we’ll keep you alive. £20… we’ll put one wing on the plane, £40 for two. £50 if you want a seatbelt. £30 for life jacket. £60 for oxygen. £80 to use emergency exit. A total lack of understanding about gravity is not good when you get on a plane.
Josh I've forwarded to someone senior in Go First and no doubt they will do the needful. Its few years since I've flown Go Air given I"m outside India during the pandemic. Returning next month and no doubt will be flying a few airlines including Go First. Interesting once I flew into India with Indigo and then needed to catch another carriers domestic flight to my destination. They had someone accompany us to show how to transfer to the domestic airport. Both Delhi and Mumbai need to make a better arrangement for connecting between adjoining terminals. A simply sign showing the amount payable at each terminal would suffice and making it dedicated taxi spot. First time arrivals always feel rather despondent when they find themselves at the wrong terminal :)
Why do you guys crib about getting ripped off in India when what you are paying is just a fraction of what you would pay in your own country ??? It is not a good feeling but then there are more needy people who dont earn much.
Some tourists are just angry because they are honest and don't like dishonest people. Pathetic isn't it? P.S. please paypal me a few dollars to pay for my cancer therapy. It's only a few dollars.

Well, most of the air travellers in this decade are pretty new to the airline policies, also it's kind of inherited to some people who arent exposed to airlines, that would be the reason for them to enquiry check in agents in the mid. Personally, been to multiple airports in India, haven't seen a similar occurrences. Citing that incident & pointing out check-in agents job to be biggest punishment in the country, feels for me bit exaggerated & judgemental!!! That's all I can say

I flew on a plane back when I was about 12 that experienced severe turbulence. Thankfully the seatbelt sign was on when the plane dropped 1000 feet, give or take. I had my cup of coke in my hand. The cup fell with me but the liquid hit the roof before falling all over me. Except for being covered in coke and in shock, my mom and I were okay. I know there were some minor injuries with other passengers. Now exchange a cup of coke with a backpack or large purse hitting the ceiling and then smashing into a passenger. 100% impossible to expect a passenger to hold onto the bag in such a situation.
I think this blogger needs a reality check on the cost of living in a city like Mumbai! Not everyone is trying to ripoff a tourist! 200 rs is peanuts! I did see the bit with the taxi driver but in all honesty more often than not if we see that the person isnt local we tend to rip them off unless ofcourse its a price regulated system like prebooked cabs or something.
This is true.
It's pathetic that the government can't provide a connection between the 2 airports. Mumbai being the commercial capital deserves a lot more.
Or you can take the free shuttle service provided by CSMIA, which I believe is one bus every 25mins.
Why is it prohibited? Anyway the airline sent him to the wrong terminal so what are you supposed to do?
Also, you're complaining about being "ripped off" for a fare that's still less than $2????

Air india and vistara are better than indigo and costly also 😂
About safety, several years ago I flew JetAirways from YYZ to DEL. I was sitting in an emergency exit and I put an empty plastic water bottle in front of the door that was in front of me and I was reprimanded by a member of the cabin crew because it was a safety issue yet GO doesn't care if your carry on might cause evacuating passengers to trip.
Probably because of an international crew... makes a huge difference in these kind of countries.

Try negotiating with an American cab driver if you can. People only have problem with india

Who would put food on the airplane floor in the first place!
(Privatization in India)
The greatest airlines in India are IndiGo, and Vistara. I really hop wthat Air India brings massive changes like good crew, 5-star seats etc. as it's sold to TATA now.
As a Cabin Crew myself it's shocking to see the cabin securing part is not done at all. Enjoyed your video
200 rupees is okay cause petrol in Mumbai costs more than $1.8 per liter…
Things like this make me wonder where else the airline is compromising safety? Maintenance, pilot duties?? Worrying.
These are the types of airlines that would get into accidents in the future for their careless business practices and ofc ppl going b the victim

Are they blocking access to the galley with a catering trolley @10:50? That would obviously be horrific in the case of an accident.
That is the procedure in the event that a cabin crew member or pilot is entering/exiting the cockpit.

Mumbai has 2 runways but , why fact said that it's the world's busiest "single" runway airport!

It's always good to first understand ground reality before you pass snide comments against someone who is simply trying to make a living.

In my case they canceled the flight and gave me the notification 23hrs before departure. “Go First” should be banned. I would rather like to a connecting flight than taking a direct flight of Go First.. indeed a shameful airlines
The taxi driver was polite enough to help him put down the luggage and has not in anyways tried to charge extra! I have travelled many European countries where the taxi driver wouldn’t even bother to give a helping hand for a luggage bag! Pls restrict your comments to your flight experience and avoid such loose comments about any country and their people! Such a shame !
Chill bro he was just kidding
as an Indian i feel bad about what happens in India in queues. we have Rahu in H1of India's horoscope which makes us break every rule in this country that out govt makes and it also makes us successful and intelligent. i hope ministry takes notice of your flight experience and does something
