      Hi Josh. I live in Bangalore, just about 30 minutes from the airport. Loved your review of Star. Yes, the government is pushing hard to achieve substantial regional connectivity and make flying affordable to the common man. Would have been great to catch up with you. Trust you enjoyed your sojourn here. Cheers

    I flew on an Embraer operated by Paramount Airways from Chennai to Kochi almost a decade back. The flight was delayed by nearly two hours to start with. But once on board, I had experienced the best service with an absolutely attentive crew. The food was great. My return flight by the same airline a week later was equally excellent. Unfortunately, Paramount Airways went bust much like most of India's airlines.

Plus, trains are much better for the environment.

    Hi Josh, Thanks for sharing another great video. Star Air seems to exemplify the saying 'small is beautiful'. As for regional airliners in India there are more than 23. Here's a breakup, from Airfleets.
    Indigo 32 ATR72
    Spicejet 15 Dash 8-400
    Star Air 6 EMB -145
    Air India Regional 18 ATR 72 + 3 ATR 42 = 21 planes
    That's 74 regional aircraft.
    TruJet seems to have gone defunct and all their 7 aircraft are parked, so I'm not counting them.
    As for your Vistara experience, it could well be because of Delhi-based crew. I have nothing against Delhi but somehow that city seems to produce more chip-on-the-shoulder type of airline crew than other places in India.

    • @EtherealMisconduct
      @EtherealMisconduct 2 года назад +7

      I have travelled with Vistara to different cities from Delhi ( cause that's where I live ) and I have never had any issues with the cabin crew. On the contrary, the crew were amazing! However, I do agree with you that a few Delhites aren't the friendliest lot.

    Hey, I'm from Bangalore. Really great to have you in Bangalore. Would like to share few facts. Actually Bangalore is known as Bengaluru and the other small airport from which the flight initially took off is called the HAL airport which stand for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited which was earlier the primary airport of Bangalore. Basically it's the old airport of Bengaluru. Also you should definitely try the food in Bengaluru which is amazing. You could dm.me if you want something, would love to host you in Bengaluru.
    Have a great time in Bengaluru.

    Josh Kahil sir namaste, you have beautifully covered Bangaluru to Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) flight journey. Sir kalaburagi is my native district, served here more than 25 years in district administration dept. I am retired state govt officer. This city is divisional headquarter. This city hosts religious places like Sharana Basaweshwara Temple, Khaja Bandenawaz Darga which dates back more than 500 years, this dist includes religious places like Malakhed, Temple Ghanagapur, Sannati. I feel overwhelmed, as you have shown my native dist in International level. Sir my sincere, heartiest gratitude. If possible, pl cover Bijapur , Bidar, Raichur which are about 130 km.

    I took a flight with jet airways back in 2016 from Toronto to Amsterdam and it was not bad at all! Quick and nice plane with decent food and drink service and most importantly for me it was by far the cheapest of any other flight at the time! Not sure how other peoples experiences were with jet airways but that was mine back then. I do know that they aren’t always the best rated airline and I have read that they have had some shady dealings financially and on a corporate level being affiliated with some not so nice groups of people if you catch my drift. That is what I read online and of course that is not always accurate but who knows. My experience was pleasant!

    I am angry about what Josh said about Chennai Airport- NOT because he is wrong - but because he is RIGHT. The most useless airport management who has run the airport of India's fourth largest metro in to the ground because they are incompetent, bothered about their own selfish interests and unionisms and politics- and the State governments that run Chennai don't have it on their priority since they anyway fly private and don't care about the issues that face common public- or they love mediocrity. Thats the cold hard truth. New terminals didn't help in 2011 and they won't help next year too- India's most mismanaged airport! Thanks Josh for speaking the cold hard truth.

    Why regional airlines don't work in india is because we have good rail and bus services. So if I have to travel upto 12 hr by rail/road. I will prefer a overnight bus/ train over plane. Although plane will reach faster . Reaching airport's in time which is outside cities and time lost in security systems make them unattractive. Plus I am not cramped in a tube with lot of luggage weight restrictions. Last and not least is cost of airtravel make them unattractive in short routes.. Majority of Indians will consider 70 AUD till gulbarga from Bangalore as expensive. But they will become really competitive in Bangalore if they fly from HAL airport because then travellers will be able to fly from city centre instead.
