I’m sooo glad I found metal when I was 10 - I’m 48 - I’m still listening, loud ‘n heavy!
Same here, brother! 49 this January... got my first KISS album at 8, then Ride The Lightning at 12. Never looked back!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’m in my 50’s and still fucking loving this shit!!
Same bro..im 49..nevrr stop listening to metal..forever!!!
I'm 44 and right along. My sis is 6 yrs my sr. She's who introduced me to metal early. I was 6
People ask when am I going to grow of this stuff and my reply is always the same. What is there to grow out of? It is the best music on earth.
I’m in my 50’s and Testament is in the soundtrack of my life...
In my forties and never ever stop listening to this stuff...ever.
Metal
@@thomasfarmer1730 same here, somewhere in Ionian beaches of Albania
Skerdilajd Memushaj I’m from Australia....hello,have you ever been to to the Wacken festival??
Same here, 52 and I will love metal until the day I die!
Still a pure masterpiece. 2024 🤘🏻

Hello
Very funny 😄
This song kicks ass going 110 down I95 in an old school trans am.
Bass sound is tremendous. Shit like this made me want to play bass.
You think your life's so grand, you don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground, you let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind so blank and then you lose control
Then you lose control
I never was the one, the one to say the things you say
Never seem to wonder what you say
You think you've got your life completely in control
You've got a lot to learn, the bridge you burned is gonna take its toll
Pay the appropriate toll
So practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you... preach
You think your life's so grand, you don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground, you let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind goes blank and then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll
Then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll
So practice what you preach
So practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach

60 and rocking my ass off, METAL lives forever, you can't kill rock and roll, it's here to stay,🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

I'm 51 and doing the same, Rock on Bro.
Thumbs up, so you were 30 when this came out ROCK ON !!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
It’s crazy how music can bring two different generations together. I’m 32 and love this record.
59 and still thrashin'!
Native Americans are the best thrash singers ever
Engineer: how much bass do you want in this mix?
Testament: yEs
That’s why they actually have a good sound unlike most of these fucking one way trains
Greg Christian kicks so much ass!
I could use some more bass. The mix is not particularly bassy although the bass guitar is clearly audible.
@@oiesen2112 funny how that works isn't it.
When you can hear the bass from your phone speaker, that's bass lol
I might be 17 but im glad to have a dad thats 56 to introduce me to music (he showed me metallica at 4) and recently this band and im so glad he did. This is my number one played song on spotify
One of my favorites too !

😂😂😂😂😂 great
I haven't heard such a solo for a long time. Masterpiece!
What about tornado of souls???
@@irafinkelstein423 Dave's great,but Skolnick was ahead of his time,too.
@@brotherlittlefoot2216 Marty played the solo on tornado
Skolnick is the best guitarist in the 80s thrash scene, Hetfield could match him on rhythm guitar, and Dimebag could match him in the early 90s
Gotta give credit to Alex Skolnick. In my opinion this particular main solo has so much attitude and feel.
Alex is a genius on guitar and he's left his mark in the industry that's for sure.
That bass.
Varun Kuchibhotla It's good isn't it!?!
Varun Kuchibhotla . Exacto- exactly 👌
Ése bajo si que rifa.....
That's the accurate volume a bass normaly deserves, but they probably turn it down cause the lines aren't very different to the guitars. What a waste for a whole instrument
Yes.... Greg Christian's bass work is excellent on this album and under-fucking-rated. It is a big part of what made the Testament sound stand out.
My wife: "So... Metallica is Twilight, Testament is Bram Stoker's Dracula." I married well.
More like "Metallica is Adam Sandler's Dracula and Testament is Keanu Reeves British accent"
Yes, my friend, you did marry well. Congratulations, sir.
One hundred percent never happened.
@@Bravo-Too-Much Don't go gambling any time soon.
@Andy Salter Yep... And they're still riding entirely off of the legacy of those albums 35 years later. My wife's point was that Metallica is the everyman's thrash band that has wide appeal, Testament is the connoisseur's thrash metal band.
my favorite song of Testament
Fuck yeah it is
Tecnol X I’m right with you on that one. I can never get enough.
Not for me, Trail Of Tears, The Legacy and Return To Serenity are my favourite since those songs have a certain emotion and feeling to them which few songs in existence can give me and it takes me to other places that I create and can help me travel world's in my mind.
Those three songs in that order is my absolute favourite and I take it as all one song so it's my favourite song.
My one favorites but not main favorite.
Yeah absolutely great but my favorite song : Desciples of the watch 🤘🤘🤘
I remember the first time I Heard this song on Vh1...I was like..GODDD THAT SOLO!
Hand down one of the best metal solos in history
As a bass player, I approve this album. Finally got that shit back with Titans Of Creation.
Not even close
Unknowingly paving the way for groove in metal, such a classic album
Good point, especially w this and the "Souls of Black" album.Pantera does have some similar riffs and style.

Testament has so many great songs it is difficult to name an absolute favorite. But, if I had to choose one then this would be it. The lead playing by Alex demonstrates how he was on top of his game. He's still pretty darn great even today. I love Alex' leads, always have.
souls of black
+John Rife Souls of Black is an excellent choice. Still, I feel Practice What You Preach is the apex of Testament's music. I need to repeat myself by saying Testament has so much great music that ten people can choose ten different songs and each will have a good argument as to it being one of Testament's greatest songs.
+Jesse Huerta I agree with you. Testament is awesome but in my opinion Over The Wall is their best one.
I don't know Testament that much, but id I had to choose between the songs that I've already listened to....
I don't know, I think I would go with Eerie Inhabitants
Honestly, my favourite leads are from the song The Legacy. But if I had to choose one main solo it would either be this or Over The Wall or Seven Days Of May...ugh, but there's also Apocalyptic City, Return To Serenity it's too damn hard to pick one!
Happy birthday Alex Skolnick September 29 🎉🎸🤘❤️

TES✝️AMENT forefuckingever
I started listening and loving Testament when I was 20yrs. old in 1986. I'm now 56 yrs. old I still love em. Without a doubt a truly fantastically gifted band that still to this day blows me away and gets me off my hinges. Wish I could go back in time...cause I surely would without hesitation.
Listening in 2024! I saw Testament live in Germany when I was in the military (1985). I remember because it's the first time I broke my nose in a mosh pit. I'm 60 years old now but still rocking and looking for the next pit 🍻🤘👍
Greatest Guitar solo I've ever heard here
This. It's up there with Tornado of Souls and some of Kai's greatest stuff. Alex is the real deal.
Absolutely one of the best solos I have ever heard in my life! Amazing! Harmony, melody. pitch, beat, rythym and all the other great sounds along with his solo work
This is Real METAL,in my Opinion and it is from the "80'S,I just Love it for REAL, tank you very much 💪👍

Goddamnit I miss the 80s
Can't get any better than 80s metal
They should have been in place of anthrax for the big four.
Fuck that. Should've replace either Slayer or Metallica!
@@notramesses4790 Fuck that, the big four shoulda been the big five!
Fuck that, Metallica and Megadeth should be in the big 4 of *heavy* metal 😁 True Big 4 of Thrash is Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, and S.T.
Ok, I like Anthrax, so what's with all the Anthrax hate? Is it because their a little goofy? But I also like Metallica (1983-1991, 2008-now), Megadeth, Anthrax, and Testament, too.
Anthrax lacked that extra dimension in my opinion. Idk how to explain it. Among the living was a badass deal and I love SOD but anthrax just couldn’t make up their mind what they wanted and kept changing so that’s cool as far as expanding boundaries but as far as being a big four thrash monster I feel like there’s a couple more deserving bands.
Nunca me cansaré de escucharlos,,, ufff
Have seen Testament many many times!!! Their Music never gets old! Alex is one of my all-time favorite Thrash Guitarist 🤘

Yes, this was clearly influenced but Blackened... quality is the same.

I think this is more close to Anthrax
No, too much bass
If u give this thumbs down why do u even click on it
The bass sound on this album is so gnarly... Testament is awesome!

I grew up in the 00's so wtf do I know though
Testament smashed it out of the park every single time.
always have loved their music personally
When MTV used to be cool.
I grew up in the bay area in the 80's. Most people don't know that Testament was named Legacy but the name was changed to Testament, the reason being there was already a band named Legacy in the Bay area. Remember going to Kegers watching and partying with them just like most bay area bands that made the 80's the shit!!!!!
Shout out to Fremont Hayward, Castro Valley yes back in the day so many great memories of shows. Remember the past clubs like the stone in sf and little club back in south. San Francisco and Joe's corner in Niles what about the Omni in Oakland. yup so many shows so many great bands with original members of Machine Heads, Forbidden, Krenshaw, Systematic and the hair days of Black Avenue, man made God, Reckless, Vain, and Flame. I love how the Niles "troll" is in the Flame video filmed in Niles creek in Fremont he lived in the hills of Niles canyon. Peace to all.

Yes, metal music is the best. Pure thrash.
Here bc of Guilty Gear
I was a child during the 80's, and I grew up listening to metal, thanks to my uncle. My uncle was like my father, because my father decided to leave me. But hey!! *Hi from ISTANBUL* 🤘🤘🤘
*(25.08.2024)*
I may be in the minority, but I've always much preferred Testament over Slayer. Any day 🤘🔥
There's no need to put it over Slayer. We have Anthrax for that.
Slayer is horrible. I wonder why someone after a full day of work would listen to "rain of blood". To be depressed? To each its own, I guess...
@@rodrigocamargo8400 well, I wouldn't go so far as to say Slayer is "horrible". I just have always found most of their albums sound too much alike. Whereas I find Testament to be much more diverse with their sound. They've done thrash, death, groove & regular heavy metal, and have done them all so well in my opinion 🔥
Definitely preferred over anthrax
@@mitcht6289 compare Kerry King "Soloing" , which sounds more like a cat being strangled with barbwire, to any solo of Skolnick :)
A lot of punk feel in it. Especially the vocals. Superb song, all time classic
GET WELL SOON Chuck! Fight against Corona!
I dont know why I never listened to Testament, Alex did a great job filling in on the Hands of Rain album for Savatage after Criss Oliva was killed by that PoS repeat offender drunk driver.
This has an early Metallica sound to it, even more odd that I just didn't listen to the band.
Guess it's time I finally changed that. The one upside is now I have a TON of music to hear for the first time.
Went an saw them live last night with slayer for the slayerfarewelltour

Yes he did. He went thru throat cancer, battled it and beat it. Unfortunately, it took a big toll on his vocals. He sings extra low and brutal now. I've seen T 3 times. Great show every time!
