This solo part is a real guitar lesson. It has all techniques. Harmonics, blues, chromatic content( like piano classics),legatto, and dramatic melody progressions with pedal note. Skolnick is..great.
Skolnick is so amazing on lead. Kinda feels like he is underappreciated in the guitar community today. He really should be put in the same category as guys like Rhoads and Dimebag IMO.
@@saraivatoledo1842 That's not what I said. I was making the point that Skolnick doesn't seem to get as much recognition as other guitar players nowadays. Which is a shame, because Alex always writes such memorable solos.
When ESP has 4 of his signature guitars and Engl has his signature amp in production today, it's hard to say that he is not appreciated. They just play old-school metal, not metalcore or black metal of the modern type. Actually I might get the esp ec + SD JB for D standard, not everything must be tuned to C or B. @@PeterVenkman_666 Ha, that made me spray coffee out my nose when I read it! Oddly enough, after 30 years of playing, the best I ever was was about as good as Kirk in his prime. People go see Testament for 1. Chuck's godly vox 2. Alex's Shredding leads 3. Eric's Amazing Riffs 4. The tightness and intensity of the Rhythm Section 5. The great songwriting.
I’m glad Alex’s finally using a whammy on his Les Paul. The whammy dips on the solo outro sound so much better compared to the improvisational bending he used to do with a regular Les Paul. Also, Chuck’s air guitar skills are hilarious 😂
Eric Peterson is so underrated, not to take away from Skolnick of course but Peterson has been the musical heart of this band since its inception (Legacy and then, Testament). He rips as a guitarist. His riffs are heavy and full of punch. He and Chuck have kept the band going through difficult times but Eric deserves for recognition than he gets. Chuck likes playing air guitar with his mic stand LOL. He’s a really underrated singer. He’s way better than Dave Mustaine but he never gets the credit. For that matter Testament deserves credit for being there at the beginning when thrash metal started. The big 4 should be the big 6. Testament, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Overkill.

I remember buying "The Legacy" summer before 1988 hs senior year started. I was in a school in Mississippi that was like 98 percent black. Hmmm looking back I think I was the only black kid there with this album! I was the kid who was a poison and motley Crue fan before meeting a cousin of mine that was into the harder stuff. So, I was at a record store about to buy the ex Kiss guitarist, Ace Frehley's album, Frehley's Comet, I saw the Testament artwork and bought both. This was at Pop Tunes, a r cord store in Memphis, TN., dang I miss record stores. The attendant was like, " You sure I wanna get those!", but was smiling with it so I was like...... Yeah!!! Gustav Bogren He sounds pretty great at this concert actually . But he used all of his enegry to the end , and that’s the result . Actually he sounds pretty good at disciples of the watch too , and disciples was after the p.w.y.p . It should be technical difficulties imo

Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick - probably the most underrated metal guitar duo of all time.
