RE-RSPCA, i would not donate any money or take advice from the RSPCA, because they wont do anything to stop Halal Slaughter, which is 100% more cruel than any type of hunting

Agree with not donating to the RSPCA. They are a self interest group that looks at an issue with mono vision. Have a look at their views and impacts on the use of certain dog training tools. One idiot screws up and we all suffer. Most recent was the banning of prong collars in QLD.
I wonder if the ABA made a submission on the hunting ban in SA.
I stand to be corrected but with halal slaughter I think they are stunned first.

    • @scrotang
      @scrotang 2 года назад +1

Yes in halal slaughter (at least in chickens since that is the industry I work in) they are stunned with an electrical current before being slaughtered. If not slaughtered and only stunned they will recover from the stun in about 90 seconds.

The RSPCA would salivate when someone does the wrong thing with a gun or a bow. To them it’s an opportunity to use emotion to push their agenda. I wrote a couple of extremely long comments on the FB post. People basing their beliefs and arguments on emotion can rarely be reasoned with.
As for the submissions, I wasn’t aware of the proposal until a couple of days ago and I have a huge number of other bowhunters from around Australia and internationally through social media and I assume most of them didn’t know about the opportunity to make a submission either.
PS: The comment you showed about the abattoir is one of the ones I replied to I think, and the response from someone else ended up being a clear show of how emotion can’t be reasoned with.

Here in the United States Hunting is a conservation tool , used to control populations of species of animals . Its revenue from hunting and fishing licenses is also used to fund parks and state forests , as well as hiking and biking trails . When Politicians want to take away your fishing and hunting rights it is not in the best interest of your country. It is in the best interest of their personal beliefs , and they are using political position to self serve themselves . Not everyone hunts or fishes here in the states . Not everyone camps ,hikes, bikes either. It’s not correct to take those privileges away from law abiding people just so you can claim your own vendetta against people who choose to do so.

Hunting with bows has not been legal in the UK for many years, but let me regale you with a tale about the RSPCA...
I get a call from a farmer who had a problem with foxes on his farm not because they were taking livestock but because there were a large number of them and they were all starving and in ill health.
We culled the foxes, and on one cull at 4am we came across an RSPCA van unloading cages with nice healthy foxes and releasing them into the countryside.
Speaking with the fella it turned out that they were nursing foxes that had been hit by cars in towns back to health and releasing them back into their 'natural environment' where they starved because they had grown up in urban environments and never hunted anything more mobile than the contents of a bin bag. So while the RSPCA were well meaning, they were freaking idiots causing great pain and suffering in the name of kindness and compassion.
As an aside (unconnected) I got a visitation from the police once because my neighbour did not like that I had air rifles (I used to shoot competitively at a national level in Hunter Field Target). One of her cats had been injured and her vet had told her the cat had been shot with an airgun multiple times, so obviously it must have been me! (It wasn't). She showed the police an x-ray, which showed several shotgun pellets in the cat. So the vet was ignorant and making assumptions, the neighbour was ignorant and making assumptions, and that the police wanted to look at my air rifles based on what they had been shown, just proves the level of ignorance these people have - and the feeling politicians listen to these idiots.
Bear in mind that I disagree with running foxes to exhaustion and letting dogs kill them. I would be first in line to stop that barbarism.

All these people are doing, intentionally or not, is to make themselvs feel better. It's not to help or fix a "problem". You can see it everywhere these days. Raising awarness, wearing stupid tags with this or that, changing their social media profile to show support for whatever the latest thing is. People being useless and trying to find a meaning in their life. And to make it worse, a lot of them seem be full of anger and can't wait to dish it out on whoever they set their sights on, in their narcissistic righteous crusades.

Steven, great video as always. I'm an American hunter. I've harvested numerous deer and feral hogs with both a gun and a bow. I got into bow hunting some 25 years ago. The reason for my conversion to bow hunting was because it's more challenging than using a rifle.
I have always been able to put 5 rounds in a 2" circle from 500 yards with a rifle. This has become not a challenge for me to harvest an animal.
I now have the ability to put 5 arrows in a 3" circle at 40 yards. It's much more difficult to get the animal to within 40 yards to humanely harvest the animal bow hunting than harvesting the same animal at 200 yards with a hunting rifle.
That's my 2 cents worth and thank you for your informative videos. Keep up your excellent work.

Thanks for your review on the misconceptions regarding bow hunting, your video is one of, if not the best well thought out informative video on this subject I have ever seen.
Firstly I will say I’m not a bow hunter this not because I object to bow hunting, rather it’s because I have physical disabilities that will not allow me to engage in hunting.
If I was physically able to I definitely would hunt.
I am only able to engage in target archery, even then I struggle to walk the ABA or FITA/AA courses but I continue to be as active as my health will allow.
Lastly, I totally agree with everything you had to say, you made your case extremely eloquently, really well done.

A well known tactic by the animal rights groups is to separate the different user groups and go after one at a time. Edit: I wrote this comment before I watched the last 5 mins of the video.
As an American and a bow hunter, I appreciate you making this video. A lot of people have trouble parking in the middle ground anymore. Everyone feels the need to pick a side even if the situation doesn't pertain or have anything to do with them. I'm not privy to how the political environment is in AU at the present time, but I'm sure you're aware of the shape the US is in. Everyone is pinned against each other in very way possible over here for no good reason. (Well, the "elites" know what they're doing but average people are blinded by emotion). as you've said, in my entire life, never once have I met a hunter that wanted an animal to suffer. Even the coyotes that are impacting the deer and turkey population.
I shoot 60 arrows every day (weather permitting) from 20-60yrds even though all of my shots will be within 30 yards just because I feel (even allowing for human error) at 30 yards, my bow is forgiving enough to hit what the ranch fairy calls the "vital V"...All year round. people who aren't in the archery community don't understand the process or dedication it takes to be a consistent shot, even with no pressure of an animal standing in front of you.
for many people, such as myself, find it very spiritual to kill an animal and blessed with the opportunity to take wild game.

Part of the issue is it seems the labor party in AU is using some recent bad press about people using bows for cheap political wins. This happens especially to niche groups with little political power. As an atheist in America we’ve had to fight a myriad of awful rules forcing Christianity on us for decades. It may seem like nothing to put the Ten Commandments on government property for example but if we don’t stand for that fight the next one will be more difficult.
We need to encourage people to stop makjng knee jerk reactions about stuff they know nothing about. The people who don’t know snd have no skin in the game need to speak up and say “there’s no good argument here and just because the other side has no political power doesn’t mean it’s okay to pass this”.
Don’t know needs to be vote no until a more compelling argument comes around because next time it might be your niche targeted for a cheap political win. Labor seems to think this is low hanging fruit and they should be challenged on that: don’t you have better shit to do?
I guarantee in lieu of other more difficult conversations like cruelty in the commercial meat industry where there’s actual monied interests and where mass suffering of animals occurs these people would shy away from outright banning or regulating.
It’s a cheap shot and should be called out as such. It’s also an opportunity to educate people on how they should react to issues they know little about either educate yourself and vote accordingly or vote no.

Good evening Stephen just like to say we have had those issues here in the United States before with the animal rights people getting involved in something they don't have no clue of why hunting with a bow gun slingshot whatever you want to hunt with as long as it's within legal parameters of your government's hunting rules should not be a problem, what people that are against hunting don't see is the overpopulation of animals and the unavailability of food to feed that population and then watching them starve to death which is way more painful than getting shot with a bow the disease they can spread amongst each other not to mention vehicle to animal accidents increase what the people that are against hunting should know is that the first conservationist of animals and hunting are the hunters at least that's what I know here in the US, if you have a lot of customers and your bow shop and they're not standing up for that sport they must be scared of your government that's no way for people to live in a society there has to be common ground between hunters and anti hunters for the good of the herd and all other creatures involved, hunting keeps the balance of health in the animal world so with that said start a petition at your Bow shop and tell your Hunter friends to get some fuzz on their kiwis and sign that petition if you get one started.don't give up and support your treasured sport,

Thank You for the input. Im afraid that nowadays society is so disconnected with reality thay they even hardly imagine where does the hamburgers come from… There will always be people that consider the bare fact of killing animals inhuman and cruel and thats ok. But there are many others who are not driven by thier beliefs but by asumptions of whats right or wrong and even more likely whats trendy, popular or politically correct… world is full of hipokrycy… In my country you cannot own a gun or crossbow but you can have 80lbs bow, medival longsword or black powder gun…. Where’s the sense in that? Some will say thats the ease of use but trust mi its easier to swing a medival sword and hurt someone multiple times than actually hit him with crossbow same amount of times.
In my personal opinion most of cases like bowhunt ban come from lack of knowledge… I know many people who belive hunting in general to be cruel but if you ask them how animals die in nature they cant tel… An oh boy! They die 95% horrific eaten alive , limbs broken, starve or freeze to death these are the facts… This will never be a dispute of facts rather beliefs and superstition…

Well said and well presented Steve. I have nothing more to add, as it looks like you covered it all, other than if banned, the nock on effect for target archers will kill the sport. The Deputy Premier said that if she can't ban bow hunting, she'll ban archery. We know that won't happen, but we are then back to the stupid idea of licensing archery equipment. And that will kill our Juniors competitively, as they won't be able to own their own equipment. No more international athletes coming out from South Australia. No more next generation Olympic gold medals. We'll have to settle for the one Simon won, and just leave it at that. As you know, I am not a bow hunter, but I respect the ways of the hunter and believe it is the most ethical way of sourcing one's meat. American subscriber here! Love your videos and reviews on bows! I 100% agree with everything you said about bow hunting however I would disagree with some things about guns.
I’ve been into archery for two decades and I love it. I like it more than guns. But as someone who has experience in both, I’m also licensed/trained in firearms, I will say a gun is ALOT more efficient than a bow when it comes to hunting. Humane kills are a lot easier to obtain with a gun due to guns have a lot more precision with added distance. Even though I believe guns are more efficient I still prefer to hunt with a bow due to my passion for archery.
When it comes to “how” it kills the animals it’s the same principle for both. Just like arrows you can go to different sizes in caliber and different grain weight to achieve better penetration or blunt force depending on what you want.
Archery is appealing to most simply because it’s more primal and it’s quieter and like you said those types of people who like archery prefer to be closer to nature. Also archery in my opinion is a lot more fun to target shoot. Quieter and cheaper than buying ammo because you can reuse arrows.
This is just my POV as an American who has experience in both.
Your opinion is 100% valid and I appreciate you making the video.

I would agree - but you need to know about guns. One of my old staff said he can hit a golf ball at 500meters with his. But when dad and grandfather had a gun. I was hopeless - Again it probably depends on the experience of the shooter. But I still question helicopter hunting. Its a waste. I think people should be able to harvest food.

Hey Steve, Thank you for doing such a great job in your trial and testing for archery equipment and in general conversation.
It is utterly disgusting on how these politicians and animal activates treat people in general , wether your a bow Hunter or not and it is true to see that there is no fact and only smoke screens that the masses generally may agree with because.
We should all know by now , but it’s not about the animals which they really don’t care for, but another controller factor they want over us. Although bow hunting is still allowed in Victoria,,now they’ve made it illegal to share meat with anyone in Victoria if it’s been hunted.
Once we loose our hunting rights. It won’t be too long before we loose fishing either.
We all need to stop the insanity and stop loosing our rights to our god given rights.
Keep up the great work and good luck on run for Mayor

No animal will pass away piecfully in the wild. Do they realy think the animal will have it's family and friends around it's bed when it gets old. The reality is it will be old and struggling to eat. When it gets real old and sick it will get ripped to shreds by foxes while it's still alive. Most animals in the wild die a horrible death naturally in the wild.. As a land owner with lots of goats, deer, rabbits and foxes and a ethical bow hunter. Not one animal has suffered. All animals are close shots. Many hrs of practice at target's well beyond the distance I shoot at live animals. All animals are quickly dispatched with double lung shots. We are talking seconds. All usable meet is processed and consumed on site. We Haven't purchased meat for a long time.
A rifle is actually difficult to use in our situation for pest management. As other farm animals and adjoining property's make it difficult and at times somwhat dangerous. Not to mention less effective as you typically only get one shot and the animals are frightened away from the sound.
The noise of a rifle can upset farm animals and disturb people.

Particularly in the US, it is always about taking things to the extreme. So we have archers, including famous people shooting deer at 80 yards. There always was a wounding issue, and the "science" that has been done on it was so depressing, that we were on most of the boards banned form bringing it up.
Compound archery by the top shooters is pretty impressively accurate. And everyone looks great if they are coached by John Dudley. But I have been to plenty of shoots, including large events with world class participants, not just club shoots, where from the sign in, where shooters where shooting the chronos with impressive "accuracy"; to missing the short shots, because they don't practice them; and missing the bales or whole animals, because they makes yardage mistakes.
The Lancaster barebow shoots, on the two occasions I watched the finals, had top shooters I respect shoot 7s, from 20 yds, with 2K bows, indoors, under perfect conditions, known distances, level ground, featherweight draw weights. A 7 is basically missing the vital organs. It might be an instant kill, but you would be lucky.
On this channel, Stephen had a comment on some video, where he pointed out that most archers, even good archers pluck their releases. This means a variety of things. They aren't consistent, they don't have a surprise release, they aren't down to one thought at full draw. Release aids, can solve this problem, if you know what you are doing with them. But getting a solution to this problem for fingers, and heavy bows is pretty difficult.

Steven, great video as always, The Australian government has taken a lot of rights from the Australian people over the years.
(Commonwealth Australian Constitution Act 1901). means the Government can take whatever they (like from our Constitution Act. As long as the Queen of England approves)
The government has taken gings/slingshots off the people.?
But it is legal for target archery .?
Photos in public have to ask the people in the shot to do so ?
Police can now pull you over and search your vehicle.? no rights to travel
    the list goes on
when the government fines a reason to take our freedom away. ?

what are they going to ban fishing next because thats a form of hunting and lots of mums and dads take their kids fishing and let that fish die on the jetty (ALL FOR A PHOTO POST) then thrown it in the bin !! I think you should have the right to feed you and your family. Our family cat was poisoned dont know if it ate a poisoned animal but had to be put down cause our cat was in agony from internal bleeding. I done some work at a pig slaughter yard you could hear the pigs coming before you could hear the truck they were stressed as well as I and people want to ban bow hunting go to murray bridge and watch the the trucks roll in then see if hitting an animal with arrow then bleeding out not knowing what just happened . STOP LOOKING AT THIS FROM A HUMAN PERSPECTIVE THEY ARE NOT HUMAN !! new zealand uses 1080 poison to control feral animals you cant control what eats it. In parts you cant even hear a bird . We cant bow hunt for food though national parks can cull and waste 100"s of feral dear and waste it all . sorry about the gut spillage Steve but they have sold all our common wealth and we dont have public land to hunt here in south oz and now it its our rights didnt even know about this .

No (bow)hunting in Japan. So I only talk as target archer. All my arrows have my name on it anyway. Precision shouldn’t be an issue with proper training and equipment. As for bow hunting, I would not do it for fun or entertainment. But that’s me. Heck, i don’t like to see it on YT or FB in the various forums. On the other side if a skilled archer want to do hunting I would suggest to introduce a kind of license for the purpose to document actual skill. Like a drivers or pilot license. Set minimum draw weight and ensure use of hunting arrows. Ethical hunting should not be an issue. Better as poison. And I keep aiming on my 5 or 10-ring target paper.

Never seen or heard of any post or I would have said something. What's more is all the aerial culling has created a massive problem in that the wild dogs and the fox`s now have an endless supply of free food so their numbers have and will just keep getting bigger, the other thing is the aerial shooting is also illegal as in the fire arms act it clearly says no shooting from a moving vehicle and I would assume that south Australia is similar to Victoria with that law.

Watching people go pigging with rifles when I was younger, was genuinely one of the most brutal things I'd ever seen. A lot of the people I knew would aim for the stomach or literally up the bum on purpose. Because of the idea that a gun just works, some people aim for whatever mass they can and just can and just take pot shots
Every bow hunter I've come across is fixated on that quick and painless double lungs + heart shot EVEN if it's just because they're afraid of the animal (say a pig) running back at the hunter
Now I've done Jiu Jitsu for nearly 6 years... and that's relevant because I've been put to sleep A LOT with "blood chokes" or techniques similar to a sleeper hold. Where the blood and sometimes air is cut off suddenly from the brain. Much like when you faint OR if you were shot by an arrow through the lungs and heart....and the reason that's significant is because I know for a fact that while there may be about 2 seconds of fear... it's actually VERY peaceful and more important, sudden

Hey buddy, great conversation! I agree with everything you said. But I would like to offer a bit of advice tho. I would be careful with the debate with gun hunting vs bow hunting because you can create a situation where the non hunters and liberal quacks get all kinds of new administration from hearing advocates from each side bring up the bad things about the other side. Now I'm in America so idk Australia but here we are all hunters. We're all on the same side. Maybe it's not the case over there? Most hunters here do both. The NRA is by far the biggest advocate for bow hunting there is here. Is the NRA in Australia? But, that's all. Like I said great conversation, I hope things work out for you guys! Let us Americans know if there's anything we can do to help!

    Hi,
in my club in Metz, east of France there are lots of woods and farms with animals causing serious degats (fields, gardens, young trees...)
the problem is that most of rifle hunters coming to archery are in a hurry to pass them basis hunting exam (after 6 month of practice ?) without taking the time to be an excellent archer
and i think to be an excellent instinctive archer is most difficult than to be a good target archer, that means 2-3 years of intense practice...
perhaps it's a reason why excellent target archers hate hunters and take them for bloody fools...

As a 4&5 generation sth Australian SA is living up to the nanny state. I'm a primary producer and prefer my bow , to my firearms. If I use the gun in the Hill s the wowsers call the cops. I use my bow for vermin like foxes , pigeons, carp deer , DO Your duty national parks , Dept of Ag deal with the vermin and I will give up my bows. And your perfectly right on poisons now that not humanely felt with. Vermin costs million s in damages. But the environmental issue of poisons in the environment is huge . My teenage kids can be putting the washing on the line one minute the next grab the bow and get that vermin. With a firearm oh I have to get the gun out of the safe then the ammo safe and just maybe the vermin is still around, it's usually taken the lamb or chicken or just seen us an legged it , but it will be back to do damages. The bow can be kept handy no safes or delays when it matters. No do not ban bow hunting it is a primal RIGHT since ancient times.

FYI: In Germany only specially trained and licensed hunters are allowed to hunt. And they are only allowed to hunt with a rifle and only for population control measures.
Never are you allowed to hunt here for you own benefit and never with a bow. Bowhunting is strictly forbidden in Germany, because most people aren't good archers and would end up only hurt/injure/torture animals instead of killing them with a clean shot to the heart.

I have been hunting with both bow and firearms for fifty and sixty years respectively. Hunting irrespective of the type of tool used always has to be done as humanely as possible. Trying to say one type is more humane than the other is just opening up a can of worms and providing ammunition for your detractors and the anti-brigade. I hunt only to remove feral and invasive pests, rabbits, foxes, cats, pigs, dogs (and goats before they became a commercial option for landholders). The argument should be based around the protection and preservation of native species, particularly with Australia’s very poor record in this regard. Four or five foxes in a days bowhunting versus 30 plus foxes in a night of spotlighting, both can be effective in their own way. If we are to arrest the appalling loss of native animals then we must make the most of all available options and this includes hunting. I think that far too few people really understand the numbers of introduced pests and the damage they are doing. We can no longer afford to waste time having arguments about which method is more or less painful or wait until some safe, magically humane biological solution is produced. Hunting, bounties, trapping, aerial shooting and baiting are successful and readily available methods and we should be promoting and using them more.

I can't really call myself a bowhunter, but I did hunt a little, mostly unsuccessfully. I grew up on a farm and have only taken a rabbit through the heart with a broadhead. Needless to say it died instantly. My Dad and brother both hunted with rifles but I didn't like guns. The laws are very different now, but I personally have not heard any genuine negative accounts in regards to animal welfare. But personal experience about 30 years ago my pet cocky was shot with a gun in his cage just outside of the family farm house. The shot was taken from the road, no idea who did it, he suffered terribly for a week before he died. I don't know of reckless acts from bowhunters, not saying that I don't approve of hunting with guns but bowhunting has a better record when it comes to reckless acts. Thanks Steven for the video. I would express my opinion if I knew where to do so. Anyway just my 2 cents worth.

Was thinking this very thing from the moment the video started.
    Or stock/land mismanagement.
How about we effectively deterring individuals from the deliberately cruel and inhumane wounding/killing of animals, and better educating individuals about the matter. (And the legal/financial consequences related to it.)
Instead of yet another blanket law which affects those who have not committed a crime under the existing laws, forcing them to give up an activity they are passionate about in order to remain compliant with the law. This means the people who legally bow hunt under current laws in an responsible and ethical manner, are penalised by these laws changes in far greater numbers and to a far greater extent than the people responsible for the law changes in the first place. And the percentage of the population which makes up the people responsible for deliberate and unethical acts of cruelty will not go away, this percentage of people already knew the legal and social consequences of such actions. And the people who are simply poorly educated and/or irresponsible? They will still be poorly educated and/or irresponsible...
The reduction in wildlife injury and inhumane deaths will reduce by a small degree obviously, mainly due to the increased scrutiny the ownership/possession of a bow will now attract, but the benefits are dwarfed by the consequences.
Not at the least, another legal precedent where the government has gained the capacity to interfere with peoples lives without reasonable grounds and/or infringe upon a wide range of matters that individuals and a communities alike, enjoy and benefit from.
    What about fishing?
What about mouse/rat traps, or those sticky pad things?
What about keeping birds in cages?
If we keep heading down this slippery slope, it's only a matter of time before the, inhumane animal welfare issue at the front of the line is trapping. The bleeding hearts of CBDs, universities and grocery stores, will transfer thier personal opinions to the newest 'horrific and barbaric' issues being raised, which is "Still somehow, incomprehensivly, permitted to remain a lawful... etc etc" It will get to the point where Trapping an animal (ANY animal) is cruel and inhumane as the animal 'suffers the torture and psychological harm induced by the fearful experience of no consensual entrapment in a strange and unusual confinement....'
We're eventually going to introduce a danger more commonly experienced over Murica way. Where suitable hunting grounds become more scarce, the number of people frequenting them will likely increase, with dumb luck being all it takes to become the backstop for someone elses poor decision.
Until products like 1080 are off the shelves and removed from the environment, this ban only upps the ante... If a person wants to catch something to eat, they will catch something to eat...
What next? Stalking them and shooting them (pigs, wild horses etc) with a paint marker for sport and/or to deter them from frequenting the location is deemed illegal? Because it frightens the animal, which causes it to stress, effectively psychologically harming the animal, which is legally interpreted as being no different to injuring the animal as a result of abusing it....
    lol.
Don't worry, it will be a non-issue before long. In time, owning a weapon like a bow and/or showing an interest/capacity for activities like hunting and killing/processing your own animal based foods will have you denied service/acess at practically all commercial banks and lending organisations.... Just ask the Armourers, whose turn it is it the moment.

Be interesting to see the Scandinavian studies mentioned below find when they are completed. I have a reasonable faith that the Scandinavian countries studies will be pretty objective.
Steven and others regularly state that "MOST times or almost ALWAYS, an animal doesn't even know it has been shot" this has always smacked of anecdotal rather than tested and verifiable fact.
I find it hard to believe considering the number of times I have accidentally cut, stabbed/jabbed myself. It bloody well hurt so I can partially imagine what a blade pushed through my entire body might feel like. The above claims seem less than honest to me.
I am not against hunting and harvesting animals for meat, skins and other animal products. Personally I think it is overall more humane than industrial farming. I am also supportive of pest control with firearms rather than poison.
Sport hunting? I understand the impulse and the primal urge to pursue this activity. I've done it but it not for me anymore. At this stage I would not sign either a petition to support or to ban sport hunting.

I lived in an another country for some years and had the privallege of feeling free. Australians are overly controlled, regulated, and fined with a laconic mindeset not to oppose anything that confronts them or their rights. I understand that Fisheries and Wildlife do a native cleanup after poisioning and this is kept on the quiet. Unfortunately, political grandstanding and fighting a cause to gain votes by finding a section of the community to vilify is our present culture. If you look at the sub-standard quality of our contemporary political parties and "leaders" when compared to Howard/Costello or Hawke/Keating genre then it is understandable why you have to post this video. The only way any group can effectively exercise voice is collectively and lobbying politicians.

We need Ed Ashby and his data put forward to these guys trying to ban it. His data and experiences single handedly legalised bow hunting in parts of Southern Africa where it was illegal for many years. He proved that an arrow when properly set up is far more deadly than a bullet from a hunting rifle. Accuracy comes down to skill and practice and has absolutely nothing to do with bow or gun. A properly set up bow and arrow combination is just as accurate as a gun.. it just has a shorter range. Bow hunters know their accurate and affective range just as well as a gunman. These people have the wrong data and are counting on that to win this fight and we don't have anybody powerful enough to make the noise they are making about it.. bow hunters or hunters in general just always look like the bad guys compared to the rspca... the general public just don't think hunting is important enough and they believe there's more danger and or suffering involved than necessary.. I've done my fair share of getting people to understand why it's such a valuable thing and nothing wrong with it and safety is highet than even fishing accidents.. still come across plenty of new people who just think I'm some sort of animal.
