  • As the Russia-Ukraine war is largely stuck in a bloody stalemate, Crimea is becoming an increasingly important battleground. Satellite images show Russia has constructed marine defenses across Crimea to protect its key assets, including the Kerch Bridge. The bridge has already been attacked twice by Kyiv and there could be further strikes at the crossing.
    WSJ looks at why the $3.6 billion Kerch Bridge is key to both Kyiv and Moscow.

Russia is not going anywhere without securing Kharkov (to protect belgorod, kursk, bryansk) and Odessa (to protect black sea fleet) so yeah cope. Ukraine could've negotiated in March or April 2022 and kept more of its land and men but it had to sacrifice two entire generations of men only to lose anyways? Sounds like winning to me. WSJ apologists omit that it is a crucial MILITARY rail and motor vehicle supply route. Putin protested too much when he told Tucker Carlson that misinformation campaigns were too expensive. Cough cough. If Russia invaded the US with ground troops, to frame the US as the destablizer attacking infrastructure as WSJ has done here with Ukraine is reprehensible. Entire towns & communities in Ukraine are rubble worse than Hurricane Katrina or Cat 5 tornados. Russia is objectively the aggressor & destablizer. It is not surprising, considering that many more Frenchmen fought on Hitler's side than in the resistance to Hitler with General de Gaulle. Even Hitler's Reichstag was defended by the French. And recently in Kharkov, the Russians immediately killed 60 French neo-Nazis who fought on the side of the terrorists of the Bandera Nazi junta

Also, if Ukraine destroys the air defenses around the Kerch bridge, then Russia will move other air defense platforms away from other areas in Ukraine, in order to shore up the Kerch bridge air defenses. In effect, Ukraine can attack all of the Russian air defenses by focusing its efforts in the one limited area around the Kerch bridge.

      I am a Russian man who escaped from Russia and was granted asylum in the USA. I pray to God for Russia to be free from its bad leader, who is bringing the world close to its end because of his huge ego still lingering from KGB failures in East Berlin. It is very sad, a great shame for us Slavic men. We need to stop following these bad rulers who take everything from us, leaving us with no hope. I pray for a democratic Slavic world, without this bad man. We Russian men say no to this government, don't believe Putin, USA. Russian people desperately want peace from this bad man. He's like an evil oil boss, similar to the characters in the first Dune movie, you understand? Putin even uses horses to carry his terrible ideas for the country while he punishes us severely in Siberian gulags for speaking against him. We want to be free, please have compassion; we are trapped and want the same freedom as the rest of the world. We desire no war; Putin is murdering anyone who doesn't obey his absolute evil authority. Slava ukraine

    Lol before the construction of this bridge Russia had no problem capturing Crimea without firing a bullet and refuelling until the completion of the bridge which means that it will not change anything even if Ukraine managed to destroy it without forgetting that they have actuellement un corridor terrestre de la Russie jusqu’en Crimée 😮

    • @jeffschroeder4805
      @jeffschroeder4805 Месяц назад +2

      Destroying the bridge would not "change anything"? So I guess it has been no problem for Russia to successfully invade the rest of Ukraine? I suspect that Russia is using that bridge to transport military supplies to support their continued occupation of Crimea as well as support their continued occupation and invasion of Ukraine. If you were advising Ukraine, you would suggest concentrating efforts elsewhere and not bother with the bridge?

    • @brianrasmussen2956
      @brianrasmussen2956 Месяц назад +1

      Well, do you remember when they invaded Crimea? Ukraine was destabilized after the Revolt that effectively removed the Pro-Russian governement. Putin saw this coming, and swiftly used this destabilization to invade and "annex" Crimea. He also sent forces to Donbass, lead by Girkin.

    Attacks on Kerch bridge keeps using Russian resources while at the same time making logistics over the bridge uncertain. Russian diverting of military supplies from the bridge route to their naval LST has made these LST vulnerable targets to Ukrainian sea drones.
