Hi Demi, should highlight to users that the youtrip and etc allow customers to lock in fx rate where trust does not. So if user want lock in favorable fx then youtrip is preferred choice.
Wise charges higher conversion fees than youtrip, the latter being 0. Wise uses spot rate + conversion fee, youtrip gives very close to mid-market rate when buying any of the 10 currencies they support. Can you discuss iChange? It's a new player on the scene and supposedly more competitive than all the options so far
Trust card(debit card) is good in rate but in eastern Europe, I can't use this card to buy metro ticket from machine. I have to use visa/master card. Restaurants and shops are ok.
Hi miss. What about GXS? I opened account with them recently and i think they also don't have fx fees. I like that the interest is also higher and easier to attain than trust. Idk but i think Trust also increased the minimum amount need to spend for 5 minimum transactions to gain additional interest.
This card is good no doubt. However, I had a tough experience with it recently. I was in Antigua and St. Lucia (yes these are off-beat destinations). The card did work there but the app did not work on any wifi connection. It needed a mobile data connection or a Singapore based VPN to access the app. So the only way to reach out to them would be via call (International roaming). I did write to them about this and they acknowledged it. Has anyone faced this with Trust in any other country?
Hi Demi, when withdrawing local currency from overseas ATM, which option should we choose that's shown on ATM screen-'withdraw with conversion' or 'withdraw without conversion' ?
Great video and I sign up for Trust cards after watching your video. But I would like to highlight a benefit from YouTrip so that others can be reminded. For 10 currencies, you can purchase when the exchange rate is good and keep in your wallet. This is a great feature when you have plans to travel to that specific country.
Do some ATMs overseas have a charge when you use them to withdraw local currency? does that mean it's still cheaper to change money in SG before travelling?
Hi, I have some questions. Do I need to deposit money into the savings account before I can withdraw it overseas or the withdrawal amount will automatically charge to my next credit card bill? And do I need to carry 2 cards around or just trust link card is enough which has cashback and linkpoints altogether?
If u have some money in the "Bank" side of the card - then u can withdraw from overseas ATM from the bank deposit. No transcatn fees (expect the bank transcatn fees if any). Call trust card- they can adv u
Yes of course. If you don't spend much a month don't do it. You only should take advantage of these rewards if your everyday expenses add up. Always preach this, never match cards to your expense but the other way around.
The biggest issues I have with you trip is customer service. Most of the time, they provide standard copy and paste answers which can be found in either the FAQ or help. Thanks for the analysis. I’ll probably start switching.
Hi, Demi. I just got my You Trip card yesterday and I happened to saw your video when I do research. Should I get a Trust cards if my monthly spending is below $500 , since I’m spending a lot in Malaysia also for the currency exchange?
You can get the cashback credit card just to enjoy the 1.5% / 1% cashback still. just take note you won't enjoy the other bonus cashback % on the chosen category. everything else will earn you that unlimited base 1.5% / 1% cashback
Hello Demi nice video here. I like to check is it the best choice to also tagged trust credit card to my WeChat pay for oversea payment as I’m heading Shanghai soon
@@DemiZhuang less fee good exchange rate haha.. but alipay and wechat has 3% charges over 200rmb quite sad and most of the time need to use digital payment there
When withdrawing overseas atm with trust link card, does it allow to select from credit card or saving account or its based on the card setting that you set?
Before withdraw, need to make sure to pair with saving account. And after withdraw the local currency cash, you need to make sure to pair with credit card if you want to spend using the the card?
Insightful video Demi!! I watched till the end but didnt realize... Hahaha. I agree that trust is fuss free however the rates are not the best as when I compared to the other cards. (I made a comparison video trust is ranked in the middle) I have a way of withdrawing money (in malaysia) with better rates than trust however incur a small fee. Even after accounting the fees the rates are still 0.5-1% higher than the trust debit card itself.(Not accounting for cashback as i cant get credit cards 😭)
Signed up with your link but where can i find the scratch card? Is it must be total new sign up? I'm holding the trust debit card befofe i sign up for fhe credit card cash back.
i have a question, regarding the rewards. if we dont meet minimum does that mean we get 0 cashback? or it is pro-rated? is it the same visa signature from Trust Bank?
@DemiZhuang so means we get something back if we don't meet the minimum spending monthly. Unlike uobone if we don't meet the monthly minimum, we don't get anything for the quarter, right?
Visa exchange rate has been below money changer for months and to manage expectations, the person at the other end of the line on Trust customer services is not that fantastic.
it's a no for me, trust need a secondary measure to do a credit check on people who do not meet the min 60k salary per year for very long time work visa expats in SG, else the little net positive fr using the debit card from trust is not worth it
@@9454tws 😂 I’ve never applied for a credit card or taken out any loans, so I expected my credit score to be fine. I can’t seem to understand why my application was rejected. I’m thinking of waiting a while before applying for the UOB One card instead.
