Yeti tumblers are dishwasher safe. Remove the gasket. Remove the slider part. Put it all in the dishwasher. Done.

Jeez I feel bad , I have like a dozen Yeti tumblers of various sizes and some I’ve had for 10 years and have never done this to them . I guess I must drink enough cocktails out of them that it must keep them clean . Now I’m going to be thinking about that gasket . Thanks for sharing

A toothpick or prying is not necessary if the gasket is warm. Grasp the gasket between your thumb and index finger across the lid's diameter and pull. It helps if it is fairly clean and wet, as during routine washing with dish soap and water.

I've also used denture cleaner to clean the mug, itself. Hot water, two denture cleaner tablets, let it soak 10-15 minutes. Pour it out and immediately wipe out the inside while it's still wet. If there's still coffee stain, repeat. It shouldn't take more than 1-2 times to get all the stains out.
I'm glad to know about the vinegar and dish detergent. Thanks!

I will definitely try your method on the lid, gasket and slider though.

Are you able to see how the permanently attached black counterpart for the slide is joined to the polycarbonate material of the lid? Is it pressed on, which would mean that there's a gap between it and the lid, or is it somehow molded in which would mean there doesn't have to be a gap. If there's a gap, there will also be microbial growth, and a small gap would be impossible to clean (but could perhaps be sterilized if the materials used for the lid can tolerate a strong enough substance).

  • @HQBergeron

I would also recommend either using a clean bottle brush on the inside of the container, or run it thru the dishwasher. It’s stainless steel, so it is OK in the dishwasher. You never want to put aluminum containers in there though.

You can also use a 50/50 mixture of Clorox with water in a spray bottle. Spray the bottle from the top down. Let it soak for a few minutes and then rinse good. This mixture will break all the proteins in the coffee and will make shiny.
