BCA in BBA yet this focus tree is from MTG. That DLC has some really good trees like Mexico and Dutch ones, but it isn't perfect is it so we're playing Communist Britain for the first time since Crush the Dream and unlike that no naval treaty shenanigans. Idea was to play as it was intended to be, but you can have a tad more fun if you combine it with things like that.
fun fact, if you do the three state solution while your communist, it’ll create a communist burma, pakistan, and bangladesh while keeping india non aligned
I feel like as the British communists you should be able to have some more control over decolonisation, like setting up mega-states in africa or / as well as having like france where you can get cores on some areas based off of event (obvs with actual impact not just decided at start) - I also feel like there should be some form of civil war for most communist trees, e.g. For Britain depending on options differently sized in the Isles itself, maybe with Ireland getting involved too (decisions based on path to ally with Irish socialists maybe to lose NI but get assistance when Ireland strikes you, again if they do should be based on decisions and stuff) Britain going communist should be a big deal, given they were yk a huge empire. Should have quite a lot of decisions etc. To change how the revolution forms and who you fight against. One thing I think is really missing from most British alternate history paths is some sort of fight for Africa. All the dominions leave but the directly owned directly governed ones don't? Doesn't make a huge amount of sense, there should be like "British Interim Government of Africa" with a civil war versus say "Loyalist British Dominion of Africa" or something. Imo if the British civil war doesn't happen in the homeland, at least throughout the empire there should be something more consequential than just the dominions, with Foreign influence etc. a bunch too. I feel if it were like the Spanish civil war it could be good (i.e. Like secure egypt within a certain timeframe or the Egyptians will become independent again and then maybe supported by France to support their suez control, or italy etc.) Again, Britain going communist during the period would likely be very chaotic, allying with Liberation forces across the empire versus colonial governors and maybe some liberation forces that would ally with the colonial governors or fight both sides and foreign nations moving in to prevent colonial revolutions spilling over or to take advantage of the weakened state to take control of the territories themselves. Same goes to an extent for France, and to a much smaller extent Japan. Going communist would be a massive change and with sprawling empires ruled from overseas by administrations, ideologies and conquest by the previous administration - there would undoubtedly be a more complicated thing than just "oh we flip" or "oh we take london" for the process to be over. (I feel also that many of the decisions for this etc. should also apply to soviet civil wars, Big nations lots of their neighbours want to influence how the administration changes, you shouldn't be able to make civil wars like that entirely isolated to it's region, it doesn't make sense)
I love the idea of a based conservative constitutionalist monarchy but the tree sucks 😭 It needs something actually good to make it worth it, infinite stability is nice but not worth it compared to the 3% manpower that comes with Napoleon *Edit: It would be cool if they got a “minimize the far right” and “minimize the far left” tree where maybe they got to decide where they wanted to ally and attack the different political groups. Maybe like the democracy path where there is socialist and laze fair paths that are both democracies.
14:00 The reason Germany doesn’t get a war goal is because that technically isn’t France. Let me explain. When you change government of a country but leave the country to exist somewhere (e.g. Syria), they’re given the generic tag of a country in a civil war (D04). Presumably, the focus looks for the French tag, doesn’t find it, and lets you have a nice puppet for basically free. This is a great way to get Austria as a puppet without getting Germany to declare on you, especially if you’re playing a decentralized Yugoslavia. In theory, you could probably declare on the Czechs and do the same by just leaving them as a puppet in the east Sudeten or something, while still getting to keep Sudeten for your puppet without war being a possibility.
I remember once seeing in the Ethiopia tree that Sylvia does indeed join the anarchists' call to arms. She did have somewhat of a thing for Ethiopia, having lived there as well.
9:50 You will never believe me, but I know where she is. The Red Suffragate probably joined with Anarchist Ethiopia through a focus Red Ethiopia can get where they claim a few Communist advisors from around the world. The Red Suffragate seems to be the most commonly picked. So yeah, you lost her to straving, Anarchist, Ethiopia/Africans.....
I had a decent playthrough as Italy. I started the civil war early and beat the Kingdom so instead of Italian Social Republic I was just Italy and the Grand Council ruled but only had the Communist focus tree.
I agree with your decolonization point, I think it would have been better if instead of a civil war maybe since your focus is clearly on the home isles the colonies can break away like during the Russian civil war if you don’t decolonize
That egypt communist flag is kinda cursed since it looks like a soviet-based flag tho I know it's not quite so but the vibes just seems similar, and being puppeted by communist britain makes it even more cursed
In terms of anglo communist focuses, I have most fun with the American and Canadian ones (although the American one in particular is absolutely ridiculous and broken, but I guess America in general is just busted). "All it has is lag and war goals" is an apt description for British communism in this game. I might've said it before, but probably my favorite communist path in HOI4 is Bulgaria's Balkan Federation. What would be cool is to see other kinds of communist federations; perhaps for Britain, it would be like a quicker Imperial Federation, but with some drawbacks. Maybe it shouldn't be as simple as just "get cores on everything", but rather there should be advantages and drawbacks depending on how authoritarian or egalitarian an approach you want to take. Like if you go completely egalitarian, giving a voice to all members of the new federation, managing such a widespread nation with so many voices speaking at once can bog down the bureaucracy (i.e. you get less political and command power and advisors and laws are more expensive), but it also gives you the most in terms of advisors, officers, and cores, while going authoritarian could limit cores to just the dominions and give you fewer advisors and officers, but your bureaucracy doesn't get bogged down due to it being streamlined to just important party members. And of course you'd have to do the typical decisions shenanigans where you have to decide how to get everyone to flip, with a chance for civil war (or perhaps an inevitable civil war on the international level, between you and your new commie puppets versus the old Commonwealth of Nations). Really, I just like the idea of the Balkan Federation, and think it fits the internationalist approach to politics communists often pursued (even including Stalin). Also, it'd just be nice to have ways to expand without going to war. Obviously you shouldn't be able to take over the world without lifting a gun and I'm not asking for Victoria-levels of diplomacy, but a decent amount of diplomatic expansion would be nice.
Dk, unlikely to get enough collab in time and puppets may go with the other Britain iirc. You may tho have thought a good strat, you should test it out.
Nobody has ever tried going communist while consolidating the empire. I searched for many videos to see if is possible but it seems nobody bothered trying

absolutely. this is bloody brilliant. someone should hire you!
Been interested to see someone try out Orleanist France, since I've actually never seen anyone at all go down that path.
Good for multiplayer, that's about it
Ive seen it. Its useless. Its historical France but non-aligned.

Could you get compliance high enough in your colonies to create colabs before civil war?

@@BubblesZest the colabs would definitely side with 'true union of Britain'.
Here’s something I’ve yet to see a video of : decolonize as democratic British and defeat the Axis.
the point is have civilwar and create a unificated empire and commie

It's simple: it's an enforced civil war, and I believe the rest of the Empire joins the non-player side.
I think feedbackgaming made a video about it
i think ISP did that once, but yeah its just.
probably not worth it
I've done it personally. It's quite fun. You essentially do "Socialism in one country" but that country spans at least a quarter of the globe.
We need British communist empire
they balkanised ethiopia😭
Well it's good for rollplay.
Suuuuure, I don't use that as a reason in this series. It's a cheap way out, everything has a point with that.

i love your videos bro
I don't like the path in general It's very stupidIt's very stupid And I wish I could decolonize manually but I can't
If i wanna play communist Britain i'll play Kaiserredux
