Keep things rusty, except your tools!
300 Ford 6 is one of the best engines Ford ever made.
I'd go further and say that it's one of the best internal combustion engines ever.
100% agreed 👍🏿
They are a beast of a motor. So strong & dependable. Just add gas & oil as needed.
Love that old 300 ford, thing looks just about brand new! The 7.3 is a beaut as well, I think the only thing it needs is some of that sweet sweet wood grain dash like the 300's got! Originally I always thought the wood grain looked tacky, but ever since purchasing a truck with some, it has become a point of pride. Just wish I had a bench seat with the wooden cup holders...Looking forward to whatever comes next.
same i love the wood trim
I also like the wood grain. I had a junkyard wood grain bezel on my 87 Ranger $5 if memory serves and my .73 C30 Custom Deluxe has a wood grain dash strip that goes with the brown cowboy seat cover
6 feet high and rising . My father had 1967 4x4 f-250 8' step side with 8' fisher 4way blade had a Big six absolutely the best truck of the day got in 1969 . Black one white grill , it set high
Thanks for all the video's. As allways be safe. Peace.🇺🇸
The 300 Ford six is one of the best engines made. The C-6 is a brute of a transmission as well. Keeping it in low helps to take a lot of stress off the low sprag by applying the large Low-Reverse clutch. Nice truck!
Somethin bout them old rigs in the snow is just mint
Thats old 80s Ford did a damn good job. I love those trucks. You should make a video of all the trucks starting up and driving out of there parking spots all buried in snow just to show how reliable those old trucks really are. Just seeing each one drive from a snowy grave would be an awesome video.
The 5.7 V8 in the 94 Chevy half ton plow beast at my former employer has nothing on the Ford 300 6. Best engine Ford ever made. I just retired and won’t miss plowing at 0400 this winter. Cheers from Colorado
That F150 is a tank! Love the plowing videos, they bring back memories.
I owned a 1983 Bronco with the 3.0L six with the 4 speed trans and 4x4. A real puller!
I've been trying to find one of those broncos for years..... great combination.
My first truck was a 77 lite brown metal flake Ford F100. 300 with 3 on the tree. I loved that old truck. It was so easy to maintain. Wish I still had it. AL B.
I have a 300 ford bronco, thing absolutely will not die and is a master at 4 wheeling.
Plowing snow here in Maine with the 84 F250, thanks for posting.
My 68 f100 plows awesome, I had my concerns when I got it being a half ton but haven’t had an issue yet, cool to see some old truck out there still plowing away after all this time
I have snow to plow and I’m watching this guy plow snow
I always enjoy all of your videos. All the snow you get I don't miss it. I always enjoyed the Northern Lights
Hopefully you could do a short video of them? Thank you for sharing.
Awesome. Love those old Fords. Big fan of the 300. Owned an 82 F150 extended cab 4x4 with a 300 and a 4-speed when I lived in Wyoming. Wish I still had it. 😊
Glad you have the equipment to move this snow. Great to have a dependable Ford that starts and ready to work in all kinds of weather which I hope to never need. Great video stay safe.
That's one nice little plow truck. & like you said; with that combo., It's pretty much unstoppable.
Had a 79 150 with a blade on it. Did a awesome job plowing snow with a knock in it. Ran for years and I was not nice to it.👌✌
kicking ass with the snow
I had an old Ford Explorer pickup that had the 300/6 in it and it outlast the frame of the truck!! Loved that thing
I don't know about the rest of you guys but back yard Alaskan is alright with me cause he's a Ford man living in Ford county 💪🏿💪🏿...I had a 79 f150 4wd with a built 460 with a c6 transmission and like you said the c6 is pretty tough with all the snowplowing I did with it and you are correct about plowing in Drive instead of 1st gear I've seen to many guys roast their transmission in drive 🤷🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Fun ride along in the old Ford it definitly does the job.
So when you rebuild the front end on that f-150, find longer coil springs for the front and cut to size(a coil or so long). This will keep all the new parts aligned and the front of the truck level. This is assuming you plan on leaving the plow on, on a permanent basis. Thanks for the videos!!!!
Slap some plow wings on for that light dry snow. You'll regret not doing it long ago!!
I have a 85 F150 300-6 Granny low 4-sp and in Granny low 4 wheel low it will climb Trees. I do not care if it is -20 and the engine barley truns it will light off without even hitting the gas. I have Never owned a gas engine that starts as well as that one... Love my old Ford!
300 six best six ever made had one in my 77 short bed a torch monster could pull our front end loader off it wheels. Got pictures of a mustang in the mid seventies with a 300 doing a wheelie down the track at the Gator Nationals.
You can't beat an old Ford with a 300 6 cylinder in it. Not the fastest thing, damn near more loyal than the dog. Good stuff brother, love old fords👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great plow truck!
Dude I love all of your old ford trucks
It’s what you call “A Work Truck”. Those straights 6’s are perfect because they have a ton of torque which is what you need. You also have the perfect rubber on that old 6 too. Skinnies work best in heavy snow.
Nice plow rig..
We had a 95 identical to yours. 200k on it when we sold it only ring we did to it was a water pump and a sold fly wheel two piece flew apart. We had it chipped and a exaust brake. We still run 2 2000 f350s every day love them 7.3s
I had an 88 150 with a 300,and you're not kidding about the heater 😭
I have a 91 f150 300 inline 4x4 short bed mine is the heavy half I need to do a refresh on my engine too love the truck it's a tank :D gotta push the snow back good or you will run out of snow room before spring.
Yeah that old straight six is a powerhouse love the video
get you some air line antifreeze we use in the big trucks and pour some in your windshield washer tank. will keep your wiper blades free of ice build up.
i like your plow truck . i see ya have a few other nice trucks to . just subscribed to your channel .have to check out more of what ya have on here .
One day I need an old ford pickup, preferably 90s maybe, my dad used to have a '96 Bronco eddie bauer edition.
was 11 below here in pa last week. getting a real winter this year
That truck did a great job
Great video
Hey Brother! I see 'Ole Ethel' is kicking back watching you guys plow snow. She looks kind of lonesome sitting out there craving some attention. Spring is on the way so it's going to be alright! You got the coolest toys brother!
One should always plow snow in the comfort and style of XLT appointments :-)
Had an 85 F150 300six. Drove the wheels off it. Good trucks.
That 150 is a perfect plow truck
I got dually plow truck to trailblazer size ones they all got a place .
Gotta love the 300 and also great heat
Hard to beat that ol 300.
One of the most reliable truck engines made. Lots of low end jam, but not high rpm to spin and mangle a driveline.
Looks great. Great plow truck.
another awesome snowplowing video. Stay safe
Rusty but trusty good ole ford 😂😂😂👍👍👍
I have the same truck! I keep 450lbs in the bed in the snowplowing season. We just got 18" of snow.
We just got 10 inches in a noreastern 45mph winds, Connecticut. Were u from
Great video! Didn't think you'd have to worry too much around keeping the plow engine cool when it's 5 degrees out LOL! Doesn't look like climate change has effected the snow there either!! Enjoyed it, thank you!
They can get very hot even below zero especially with auto trans. Plowing works a truck hard
These are real work trucks unlike modern garbage
beautiful 7.3 man!
i have used a 87? f350 or 250 (it sat up pretty high) with 300 straight 6 stick shift for plowing at a resort, that thing plowed nice.
Just a suggestion. When you go into the snow bank don’t lift up on the controls, the plow will come up higher on its own just have a little bit of speed , it will save your pump from burning out or breaking a hydro line .
Btw love both your rigs I had 2-86 f250’s with the 351 and they be were both great trucks .
I operated this way; when the snow pile raises the blade I’d operate the lift to have the blade up without putting the weight on the hydraulics
Bought an 86 f250 for plow truck, had a bad draw. Was the internal voltage regulator attached to the alternator. Cheap fix.
Glad to see a video on the ol plow truck 👌🏻 i dig it 😎
Thee straight 6 300ci was arguably the best motor Ford ever built.
Great video, am not envying you with that snow at all, 😂😂
Your back right brake line is not long for this world. It's full of ice and hanging down.
Yep they ain’t nothing wrong with an old hot water six we got a little bit of snow here in Georgia last night and it was enough to do donuts in the golf cart but I still think the old M 37 could take Those ford In a snowball fight
New subscriber!
You put a sensitive meter on the battery and yank fuses until the draw stops. Isolates the problem
NICE rig!
Tower of Power. ❤️ The 300/6..... They're very hard to kill.
Front-End Loader may help out around the place. Just an idea.
Hey brother ! Happy 2022 ! Missed a couple videos , that notifications for ya , and I smashed the bell but somehow many notifications don’t get through . That’s not cool . Even though it’s been cold here in New York , I won’t complain when folks up in Canada and Alaska are doing their thing no mater what . Feels good to see that every time I open a video of yours , the subscriber rate climbs 👍 . I think it’s great that you happen upon a good truck every time you do . I wanted to add one to my very small fleet (3) but I got to recoup funds you know how that is . For me it’s just for fun but in your back yard , it’s all about work , business . Just hope it’s still fun though .
Well , better let you get back to work ( sorry about that ) , I know you got enough to do . Well ,be safe , stay healthy and make that money ! ✌🏻
I had a 300 in my 1992 f150
Looks like y'all got a lot of snow what's the total inches so far this year guess it's in the feet range by now
Stay safe keep the video's coming
Have you ever had a pickup truck with the powerhouse 460 Big Block.
They make disconnects for that ground cable.
Nice old ford truck and yes those 300 are hard working engine. And nice interior in it. Look like you never get a break from snow ❄️. Well are you going to work on any of your army truck .?👍👍
I’ve had Ford alternators still charge but be the cause of a battery drain .
What year is Ford F150 xlt 4x4?1985 or 86? Rare to see a short bed with dual tanks! 300 cid 6 cylinder is a great engine, 1 of Ford's best! It looks to be in great condition for the year! You know what gear ratio is in it? Take care.
This is enjoyable for me. Living in Hawaii is what it is, but I miss snow so much, thanks for this bud. Why doesn’t your Speedo work in reverse?
the tach wasnt workin either, i think those two are broken, the rest seemed to work tho so atleast he can see what the temp an oil pressure is 🙃
Always enjoy your content. Love them trucks.
👍👍👍
nice truck for plowing snow, is that Westerns version of the Fisher speedcast snow plow?
it looks like the model they had right before they came out with the western unimount
the speedcast plows were heavier and alittle better built I think
👍👍
I swear by the 300ci you'll not find a better in line six, I've owned several of them.
This homestead in wasilla was my brothers who has passed on ... he sold the plow truck with it, a 7.3 with five speed regular cab in fair alaskan shape,. can be driven in public. They who they let use to plow with it ran it till the corners of the frame were broken into so they needed another plow truck pronto and came home with a sorry 2006 .. 6.0 automatic flatbed dually... 143 + on odometer so its on borrowed time. They are going to get rid of this truck and I don't know but what they may already have. I really don't know how to find out or even talk to them cause it would fit your arsonal real well. Its a 95 model and has issues, they all do but it would drive home with some buzz box to the steering box to hold still
Nice work truck, great video! how often do you change the Oil and Trans. Fluid? do you use reg oil or synthetic?
like the vid, not the cold!
I know that it is a chore but tell the truth, how much snow would be plowed if it wasn't just a little bit fun? Also what do you use for weight in the back of the truck if you no longer need all the used oil cans?
So you’re in the luxury truck segment now?
what is your daily driver? and what do you heat the house with? your fleet is running great it seems..stay warm...been minus temps here in Buffalo, NY area...
👍 👍
I'm curious as to why you don't use low range.
i would like to a junkyard video on whats there.thanks
- nick
Looks fun playing in the snow! Wish I was there. Any projects ya workin on in the shop?
What month do you run out of places to pile the snow. In NH I was good till about March.
Can you please post ASMR Snow driving videos in this truck please
Anyone have any suggestions for steps he has on his 7.3 that would work for an 88 250?
The older 300s are great for sure very reliable . But Don't run at high rpms and they will Last forever
Is that an ‘86?
Make,s it nice that snow is dry not wet
we need to know the history on ethel won her in a card game got paid to haul it off or What lol
Nice old bull nose
