I’ve plowed many a trucking companies back in the day. This plow system is by far, is the best. We had loaders and tandem dump trucks and a Jeep to do the cut in work. Nothing like this! All of our plows were manual angle, the cat loaders had buckets. I don’t need to tell you, it took forever to do a good job. You are certainly a skilled operator. Thanks for the video.
We were lucky enough to have one of those. Got a paying gig for the wheel loader in winter, we bought a snow blower power pack for it. The Truck terminal was a break bulk right on the edge of zoned open space. the skidsteer with an Arcticbox and Pickup truck cleared the docks and the backhoe with a snow plow windrowed everything to the snow blower. We blew the white stuff up and over the perimeter trailers into the open space/ drainage channel. We were able to add skidsteers over the next 3 years and build a nice little winter income business. We used the skid steers to cut in and backdrag to big lots, and reassigned the backhoe tractor and pickup to apartment jobs. The Metalpless blsde goes on the bucket loader for the big storms to get acesses plowed fast, then we swap to the powerpack and blow the snow out where we can.
Yeah the music is the only complaint I have about this video other than that it was really interesting to watch. But the music ruined it so I just turned the volume off
I just had my first experience with a truck depot last week. 13 acre site, 12” of snow, running only two skid steers. It took forever! Would have been nice to have a wheel loader and one of those adjustable blade/pushers. We ran a flat bucket on one skid and a blade on the other.
I grew up in a family that owned a road construction business. So when I was 8yrs old I'd get told to go plow....using the (pretty new at the time) 1990 John Deere 744E. For some reason, idk I was a kid, when you'd raise the bucket and let go it would stick and keep raising until it hit the max and the machine would bounce like hell. One day I was backing up, saw the power lines and thought the bucket wasn't raising...but it was. The loader started bouncing and I hit the brake in a panic. I was about 3ft from hitting the power line. I NEVER FORGOT ABOUT IT STICKING AGAIN!!! Nowadays child services would be called if a kid was driving a piece of equipment, back then it wasn't a problem...I think 🤷🏻♂️
Please more video content like this with the Metal Pless plows! Could watch this all day! This is the nicest video showing a MP with wings that fit under trailer hitches too!
It's enjoyable to watch a skilled loader/MetalPless operator. When you slow down toward the end of the long runs in the first half of the video is it because you're starting to lose traction? I wouldn't think that it would be because of the weight of the snow and a loss of power to move it.
You'd be amazed at how much snow these things push. Heavy equipment doesn't have very much torque at higher speeds to begin with. It doesnt take much to slow them down but once they are really pushing its hard to stop them
It certainly slows you down when your pusher is full, you'll notice when he picks up the boom a little to put more weight on the front axle to keep momentum and traction up.
Never put that much pressure on those fittings while the hose is hooked to the tractor !!! You will bust them off. Unhook it and lay it on the ground. 👍🏼
failure to stop for an a rat sign well throw em in the klink 🤣 jk those parking lot ones are meaningless and should really Not be used except for to say yeild to pedestrians
Once the pusher is full, you're just wasting fuel at that point. Push into the pile, back up and instead of going back the entire length, why not go back 1/3 of the way or so, anticipating the distance of a full push box just before you get to the pile each and every time. All you're doing is pushing it to the sides of an overflowing box each time, only to windrow it on your way back.
The way he's doing it is the most efficient in my opinion, now if he had a fixed box pusher that he couldn't windrow the spillover into the next pass like he did here the way you said would probably be better
I kept thinking the same thing, and why not work as a team for some areas like the straightaways. Also I’ve never been here either so maybe there is a reason. I like how the wings fit under the nose of the trailers.
@@milesstevens3476 great point, and most places like this are very particular on where they want there piles. Some of the lots I plow that are similar to this one you may have to push snow from on side of the warehouse all the way around to the other, you simply just can't do that the way these guys are saying
Lose the music! Nice machine but too bad the operator has a room-temperature IQ when it comes to pushing snow! Quit leaving mounds of snow between passes with the blade!
Turned the volume off for this video as I didn't like hearing a dying cat for over 22 minutes. Next time take the so called music and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Those Metal Pless blades are some of the best I run one similar and well don't know that I could ever run something else

Could totally do without the music. Just the sound of the loader the person talking would be just fine with me.

@Unclaimed Baby Dearexplain
Tell me why he was only really pushing snow 10% of the video? Snow should be piling over your plow with this much.

It's Quebec.
Not going to lie I don't see much wrong with how he's doing things, elaborate on what you'd do differently
I agree but with big technical lots like this you gotta make windrows, can’t doze it all off to the side like with a straight blade on a pickup
