- Bottom left switch was lubed with very thin layer of Krytox GPL 205. After the mod, the switch is completely smooth without any scratchiness and produces a quieter and deeper sound compared to stock.
Those switches honestly sound tactile
good point
there really not i got them and know i wanna kill myslf
@@chypurkomaxim8921 they are literally marked as linear. You have to read what you buy, it is completely your fault.
@@wejvi32 who said it isn't?
@@mrval9422 he is implying that he thought they are tactile, when the are actually not.
Holy shit thats a lot of scratch
AND PING!
My focus are not in the switches itself, but by the sound of your clock ticking. That isso satisfying!
Am I the only one that noticed the had the switches sideways
No
Nop
I did it, had to desolder all switches and it's worth it, but you must be careful not to overlube it, as it can make pressing the key harder. Depending on the plate material of the plate and case - the difference can be huge.
I've done it in a plastic keyboard with steel plate and it became basically silent. The difference is about hald as big as red vs silent red.
On aluminum plate and case which was louder than steel+plastic - it is not quieter, but still louder than lubed steel+plastic.
I would like watching your video of keyboard typing with Cherry MX Silent Red Lubed
Them springs tho
does the lube make it push faster or slower at all? also can it decrease the longevity of the keys?
It does not decrease longevity. I'd think it does the opposite, honestly, as all it does is lessen friction.
When it comes to pushing faster or slower, the spring will retain the same weight, though the smoothness may bring an illusion that it feels lighter in general.
The lube just makes the switch smoother and it does increase longevity because of the reduction of friction.
Too much lube can make them slower
Hey thanks for the video
Reds are so popular but so damn scratchy
Reds are not scratchy, these are Silent Reds.
You should try it with switch films it makes it super quite
i bought the ducky miya with red silent switches and it sounds like yours but lubed? Do you know if ducky miya comes lubed from the factory?
@@PimpmasterMcGooby oh wow didnt know they had that. I've gotten a lot more into keyboard since this comment and now noticed how good varmilo boards are for a stock board.
bro y ur hands shaking that much
is it possible to lube them without opening the switch?
No
Yes you can you need a small syringe then just hold the switch down put one drop of lube down it and press it up and down a few times!
bikepedal no u actually can
@@shorts88144 It just not as good, as you cant lube the spring
@@LEK there's also spray lubing,, but i haven't tried it personally. From what i hear, its leagues better just to manually lube, but I don't know how much of that is hype.
why is it so scratchy
I have silent reds and they sound nothing like this
thats because these are lubed and i guess yours aren't
@@tab0040 no like they don't sound this scratchy when they're stock
When did they retool the reds? Maybe the newer ones are different?
@@RednaxelaPrime they did it a while ago for Corsair keyboards but now you can just buy them
"Silent"
jeez stock silent reds sound disgusting to use
