Cherry MX Silent Red Lubed vs Stock

Bottom left switch was lubed with very thin layer of Krytox GPL 205. After the mod, the switch is completely smooth without any scratchiness and produces a quieter and deeper sound compared to stock.

It depends on what "lubing" consists of because these switches are actually lubed from factory, although it's just a small amount of lube on the plastic that actuates the switch as well as a little on the lower spring area. I did it, had to desolder all switches and it's worth it, but you must be careful not to overlube it, as it can make pressing the key harder. Depending on the plate material of the plate and case - the difference can be huge. I've done it in a plastic keyboard with steel plate and it became basically silent. The difference is about hald as big as red vs silent red. On aluminum plate and case which was louder than steel+plastic - it is not quieter, but still louder than lubed steel+plastic.
