Hulk Hogan on his WWE return, Ric Flair on Charlotte vs. Rousey at WM35

  • Chris Van Vliet chats with both Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair before the "Legends Of The Ring" event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL. From the sounds of it, Hulk Hogan is getting ready to return to the WWE sooner rather than later. I also asked Ric Flair what he thinks about the rumors of Charlotte Flair facing Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35, whether either of them would want to wrestle again and why they were never opponents at WrestleMania.

He was 59 at the time of his amazing Wrestlemania match vs Shawn Michaels - the fact he looked half-decent at that age despite nearly 40 years of partying and wrestling is a miracle... Then add on a few extra years of work followed by near-fatal organ failure that technically already killed him... Yeah, that has a habit of wrecking bodies. He looks his age now and he's lucky to be alive, so rather than comment on how bad he looks, remember what he's been through and just say WOOOOOOOOOOO.

Every time I think of wrestling the first five names that always come to mind are Hogan, Flair, Austin, Rock, and Savage. Any combo of them would be the one true Mt. Rushmore of wrestling! The 'Big Five' actually transcended beyond the business they were famous in; crossing over into other media like films, music videos, television shows, commercials, etc. becoming larger than life icons that even most non wrestling fans can recognize and created a significant influence on not only just wrestling, but pop culture as well. They are also the most quotable wrestlers out of everyone else.

My Mount Rushmore of Wrestling is: Andre the Giant; Hulk Hogan; Stone Cold Steve Austin; and The Undertaker.

My MT.Rushmore, if we go with the Golden era would be: Flair, Hogan, Jake the Snake, Macho Man and Mr Perfect. All five being the best in their different aspects of the business (in MY opinion) and therefore deserves the spot.

Ric Flair number one being rehonored for his earlier career before world champion Hulk Hogan the biggest wrestler of all time was a good worker and honor of the business

It's so hard to narrow wrestling greats that have made an impact down to four. I agree Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are numbers 1 and 2 or vice versa. But then there is Undertaker, Stone Cold, and the Rock as you said. But you cannot forget Mr. WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels? Then there is Brett Hart, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, and the list goes on.

Love your interviews. Do you ever have a chance to interview the female WWE Superstars? Just curious.

    I don’t care their age....wrestle.
I take it back, I do care, it’s more reason I want them wrestle. It’s fun watching the older guys put on a show.

Chris always asks the best questions! Rousey vs Charlotte definitely feels like what WWE is going for in the first womens WM main event.

Flair, Austin, Taker, Hogan would be about right.

Nice interview dude, i too grew up watching both of this legends during 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and wrestling was many many levels above today’s wrestling. But my Mount Rushmore is just a little bit different than yours.
Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling: Gorgeous George, Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. I just can’t not include the wrestlers who paved the way for Hogan and Flair. As far as Stone Cold, or The Undertaker they are up there, but unfortunately they are behind the four mentioned in my mount rushmore.

I was there in Boston when these guys locked up for the first time, and I remember hearing that Vince didn't think it was good enough for the wrestlemania main event
