Brad or should I say “Bee-Rad” (Dave Chappel) I have been watching you since I was paralyzed 2 1/2 years ago. You are one of the most interesting detectors out there. And the amount of work that you put into your hunt is unprecedented. I had just purchased a Deus 2 when I was paralyzed by infection in my spine. Miraculously enough, I am actually recovering my ability to walk again. Hopefully I can take the stuff I’ve learned from you and apply it soon. I don’t know how a golden nugget gets into the back hills of Vermont but I’m sure it would be interesting to find out the story.
@gabe hey thank you man. That’s the readers digest version. In the beginning I was being “treated” to get rid of the infection. Only to find out it was MRSA - which is scary because it’s well known that we can’t kill MRSA. It mutates faster than you can change antibiotics. The doctor told me I would have to receive 6 GRAMS of Safa Zolan in 24 hours for up to 10 weeks. Then they switched to Vanco myosin. It was so strong my fingernails fell off and it did nothing to the infection. Six weeks the IV treatments, I freaked out and demanded an MRI, only to find out three vertebrae had been rotted away by the infection. I was walking around, and my spine was no longer connected. Meanwhile, they were telling me I was getting better. So we did the first emergency fusion & nine months later, the infection came back and the fusion hardware pulled out of my spine. So we did the second emergency fusion. Seven months later the infection was back in the hardwarebhad pulled out of my spine again. I went to Cleveland clinic emergency room with a history of MRSA and failed back fusions and they sent me home seven times. They were convinced I was looking for drugs. They just did a minimal examination, instead of actually looking at my history, and realizing the fusion had failed again. Five days after I was sent home for the seventh time, I collapsed, paralyzed, and so septic I was in organ failure. They prepared myself and my parents for my death. The doctors explained that if I survived the surgery, there was very little chance I would survive the year. Well, I survived five months after getting home, I moved my big toe on my left foot. All I did was sit there and wiggle that toe, soon, my ankle was moving and then my knee, and then my right leg started playing along. It has been a series of miracles and setbacks. By the grace of God, I am able to walk up to 50 feet at a time during my physical therapy sessions. Before I was paralyzed, or should I say before this started, I had been running offshore fishing charters out of Ana Maria Island for 24 years. All I can think about is getting back on my feet getting another boat and finishing out my days, getting paid to take people fishing, not a bad gig. Thank you for taking the time to express concern and well wishes for someone you don’t know. I share this story so that it might inspire someone to never give up. I was told by seven different doctors I would never walk again, I never freaked out. I don’t know if I just never processed it, but I never had any doubt that I wasn’t going to heal, I guess it was the Holy Spirit. We never know how strong we are until we are challenged. I had just gotten into metal detecting because I was now on disability and had nothing but time. I never sold my metal detector and started watching Brad because I had an interest in the hobby and I was now basically bedridden. I like to think that you would do the same as me. I’m only 52 and don’t want to lay in bed for 20 years staring out the window. Again, thank you for being a good person. I hope this story might inspire you to never be told what you can, or cannot do. God bless.
@@barbaradavis8691 thank you. We never know how strong we are until we are tested. Doctors left me high n dry, I was told by 7 doctors that I would never walk again. Yet after two years of horrible pain- I’m able to walk with a walker. If I had truly been paralyzed- I wouldn’t have felt a thing. So I think the years of enduring the pain have only made me stronger. God gave me the opportunity to get better and I had to do the work. God bless you for your kind words
@@stevemiller3082 I'm crying & probably anyone reading your story is too. Somehow I think you will get your mobility back. You are so strong. Keep fighting!! Be well.
@@wakranich3488 I’m a series of miracles in action. I’m doing everything I can possibly do. I’m participating in two physical therapy sessions a day most days. I’m doing my version of squats in between therapy sessions. Medicine can’t explain how this happened but I know God has brought me this far, he’s not going to leave me here.
Very nice, Vermont has a very rich gold mining history. My last time prospecting there, I did very well for the short time I actually prospected. Great Find!
How congrats Brad 😃 I love how RUclips just now decided to post this for me to finally see. It's 9:20 pm Sunday 20 Nov 2022, yet I see others have seen this short over 14 hours ago 😣
RUclips gives options to subscribe for free and now has options to become a member of the channel for a small fee that the RUclipsr actually gets paid for but it’s truly as low as a couple $$ and many RUclipsrs upload videos early for members only then upload for subscribers. Brad actually let’s us all see every video but some RUclipsrs have “members only” awesome videos but if we aren’t members we never get to view the video. Just thought I’d explain why some videos were not available for viewing until a few hour# or a day after members got to see them. 😉🤘🏻
@@GMMD .. I wasn’t certain so I tried to express about other RUclips channels. You’re too cool Brad! Thank you for sharing your beautiful beautiful adventures. God bless you
Damn that guys got some serious luck I'm not saying he's staging these but that is incredibly lucky and it seems like he's often very lucky to find this in rural Vermont or any of its fines for that matter
@@GMMD Thanks.Memory wanes with age and life.:>) I actually watched it back then and liked it.Awesome then and now.Didn't realize the weight was such as that.Crazy find.
I wonder if that was brought back from California back in the 1800s. During the gold rush. Would be very rare to find a Gold nugget that size in Vermont . I do know many people left Vermont during that time to go chase gold some of them might’ve come back with nuggets maybe the one you’re holding
I have found many a piece of melted lead around old homesteads, that looks like melted lead that had absorbed the mineral content of the soil giving it the look of gold. Gold nuggets are not a Vermont thing. You did say “Might be..”, so I’m guessing you already know this. I very much like your channel though, good stuff.
When you found it a while back I had no idea it was 15g HONKER!!!
Even though this was an "old find", it was just as exciting as when you showed it the first time.
