Gorgeous ! I love it. You could make 2 of these and 1 small plate, to make a 2 tiered or 3 tiered stand, for your Christmas get-together or, to give as a gift, to someone whom you know, loves the " Lil Red Truck " ! They would flip ! P.S. The tiered stands, could be used to display homemade, old fashioned Fudge & Christmas Cookies or in the Kitchen, next to te sink, with a scented candle, a dishcloth, and a sm. Pine Branch, etc. Thanks for sharing.
Amber, I made a plate like this but painted on the top cookies for Santa then sprayed a coat of clear paint on top of the writing. Have it to my grandson to put Santa's cookies on it. Keep crafting and sending us you're amazing videos. From Debbie in Ohio. 🎄🎁🎅🤶
I love this idea. I am baking way too many cakes for a party this weekend and decided I would go get clear plates and put pretty material on the back. But then a lightbulb came on. My cakes are 6 inch round. So, I purchased round glass cutting boards. Took the little feet off and dove into some material stash. Glass cakeplates were born.
Great video! I did something like this years ago but I used wrapping paper instead. Then on the edges I put a little trim and painted the back where I wrote merry Christmas and signed it. I figured it would help the receiver remember that it was not washable. Yours Turned out very cute.
This is Awesome , I have been looking at dinnerware sets with roosters on them . After seeing this I believe I can make my own . Thank you so much for the idea.
Red Truck Awesomeness!! I love this so much, Amber. I am obsessed with the red truck decorations. Thank you so much for sharing this diy. You are so creative and talented. Your channel is faantastic.
I use a 2nd brush to smooth out the lines of Modge Podge & wipe excess, if any, back into the bottle. The foam brush can really hold medium! Thank you for sharing this with us. Subscribed, from TN.
That is a great easy project! Thanks! And I totally "get" the noise issue with clinking, etc. I've watched tons of craft videos where the women get supplies packed in cello bags which they proceed to fondle and pat and play with while crinkling them. Ugh!!! It drives me crazy! At least I feel like I'm not alone now. 🤗😆
I love your videos!!! They're easy to watch , you get right to the point. I think this would be good for my grandchildren to make to give as a gifts ! thanks
I saw your video and RAN to the store for supplies! I've started 7 large plates and 3 smaller ones! I've even taken mine a step further and took a razor blade to the edge of the plate to get the excess glue off. Thank you so much for this WONDERFUL idea!!!
It's so pretty. I have that little red truck material from Wal-Mart. Was going to make a pillow, not now. I'll try your cookie plate. Thank you for sharing. It's perfect.
How cute. I recall doing this back in high school. But I dont remember what glue or sealant was used. I do remember when it fully dried it turned out like a glossy finish. Fun diy. Thank you for sharing.😉
So cute ❤️💕! Now I have to make this! This plate looks very high end and expensive. Thank-you for your teaching and showing how easy it is to make. Cuz I always thought these were hard to make. When you redo your craft table, please do a video so we can see how it's done.
I bought the same fabric from Wal-mart and was going to make a pillow but I love this idea. I never did a decoupage with fabric, just tissue paper or napkins. Thank you!!
I love this idea. Its simple and easy to do. I watched your videos of rag wreaths and I've made about 20 of them so far. I'll have to try making these plates. Thanks for posting.
This came out so cute. I think I will try it using the water safe modge podge. I am curious to see how that works and holds up. I love little red truck and was able to find this material before the hurricane. Wondering what I was going to use it for. Perfect timing. Thank you and God Bless🌹
Amber, that fabric is gorgeous. As usual my Wal-Mart didn’t have that fabric in my area. 🤬 I love decoupaging stuff too. The plates would make great Christmas decorations for a kitchen and would be cheap too. Thanks for sharing!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it! I picked up the same fabric today because I love the red truck. I thought of making pillows out of it but I think I'll do the plate as well. Love your videos.
My son would love one of these. I love doing plates. My son love the Red trucks. So I will have to look for the fabric. Thank you. I love watching you do crafts.
That came out absolutely gorgeous. A friend of mind decoupages plates with napkins and gift wrap. I don't know if she uses fabric, but that looks a lot easier than piecing pieces together.
I have done six's of theses plates so fun to do made two myself four for Christmas gifts watch this video four times like watching you make them also I like your voice
Amber absolutely love this. You explain things so well. These make great gifts and they cost less than $2 to make. Really great when you are on an extreme budget. Like I am right now. Besides a homenade gift comes from the heart because you had to take the time to make it. You can make one of these for any season or to match someone's decor. It would also make a great hostess gift with some homrnade goodies on it. Thank you for the great idea. I'm going to make these for all my family and friends this year for Christmas.
I found out a cool tip and it works great! U can use the dishwasher safe & instead of having to wait 28 days you can put the dishwasher safe Mod Podge on your plate, fabric, then Mod Podge again and place in a cool oven & start at 170° for 1 HR. Repeat process 3 times and it is dishwasher safe & ready. I keep the vent on but honestly it's rare to have a smell but if it does the fan works great. Also after an hour I just take out and turn oven off to cool b4 putting more in the oven. Oh, put it on wax paper on cookie sheet. Plate does not get too hot. Keep in mind that Mod Podge says top rack only so no lower rack. Small dishes only :( It really works great! Love the red truck as usual!!! I hope this helps because it really cuts down the time & u can make so much more. I hope it was ok to share this tip I learned this year.
Very pretty. Thank you for the inspiration! I have not done plates in a few years! Thank you for letting us know that material is coming in! I need to get a jump start.
The fall fabric came with the Halloween and Christmas fabric in fat quarter size and yard size like what you got. I work at wm in the fabric and craft area. Your store may not had gotten their other box yet. Love that one though. Happy crafting girlie.
@@ThisSouthernGirlCan ...LMBO...definitely do. I just put all of ours out the other night. Check the all cotten wall of fabrics too. There are seasonal fabrics by the yard there too that are so far year round. A few Christmas a couple of Easter a couple fall ones a couple that could be Valentine. I craft too but not like you do. I'm just gonna try to do a video from my phone. I did a small fall DT wreath. I wanna insert a pic but not all that knowledged on the tube yet...lol
Thanks for sharing this, I have seen this done in paper but not fabric. I usually make a Christmas outfit each year and I have some decent bits let over to make some plates for gifts.
I made some of these a couple years ago. They turned out great. I did, however, use an emery board against the edge of the plate (from back to front) to make sure there weren't any ragged fabric edges left.
What a GREAT idea!! I just LOVE your crafting videos. Thank you so very much for sharing this project! I've made 2 plates so far and they turned out Fantastic!!
Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge (aff link): amzn.to/2HMjOU8
Definitely doing this one
If we did this project with the dishwasher safe mod podge..would it all be the same steps as with the gloss ?
This Southern Girl Can - hope you guys are safe from Dorian.
Michael's has the dishwasher safe as well.

WOW WEE THAT IS SO AWESOME, LOVE HOW SHINY IT IS ! - WATCHED - 11/19/21

Beautiful. Great idea to help the kids make for gifts.
I made these plates 20 or 25 yrs. ago and I think I still have one or two of them. They make nice gifts to give as a plate of cookies.
I used to make these years ago! Thanks so much for the reminder of how cool and easy they are! And , I just love your voice, and personality!!
Can’t wait to try this! My experience with ModPodge is minimal but I’m certainly going to give this a whirl. 😛
Love the red truck! Great idea can't wait to make one.
Adorable with the red truck. I luv the colors, so vivid. I will make a few for neighbor gifts, mail lady, hairdresser, etc. Thanks for the share.
I made some of these plates years ago. They lasted for years. Your plate turned out great.
Great video! I did something like this years ago but I used wrapping paper instead. Then on the edges I put a little trim and painted the back where I wrote merry Christmas and signed it. I figured it would help the receiver remember that it was not washable. Yours Turned out very cute.

I did this with pumpkin napkins from Dollar Tree, loved how it turned out. I want to make a red truck, snowman and Santa plate as well.
Amber...this is so cute and I can’t believe how easy you make it look. ❤️
Thank you so much! 💜
I’ve learned that the easier a project looks in the video than harder it is for me to recreate. :)
Great idea. I'm going to try this. I really love the fabric. The tree in the truck was my Christmas theme last year.
Thank you for the great idea. It is never to early to start Christmas projects. It will be here before we know it.

That is a great idea for teacher's gifts. Beautiful! You remind my family of our sister that passed away last year, Anne. RIp

It is fine. I just do not like putting glues, epoxies, and things of that nature in the oven where my food goes.
That plate is so cute!!!l I have seen that material at Walmart and needed ideas and yep, this is it. Great hints and instructions.
Ty for teaching us this, I've seen a few how too's but, ur auch better teacher ....😄🌺 TFS 🌺
