Always makes me smile through the tears. I miss those that are gone and am so grateful for what love they've left us and I know I want to hear them all play together. Can you imagine.

Love the music of The Righteous Brothers. You are right, artists back then really respected & paid tribute & homage to the greats that came before & after them. They were willing to share the spotlight. There weren't as many divas & people with big egos like today in the music industry. And they had a lot more natural talent back then too.

Bobby's grave marker reads, in part, "If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand." There are videos of Bill performing this with his current partner, Bucky Heard, where they end it with "Bobby's got a hell of a band."

Rock and Roll Heaven just gained another angel today--- Graeme Edge, drummer for The Moody Blues.
It would be great to see a tribute reaction , Chod.
"I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band " is a great showcase piece for Edge.

As the years went on, they added and changed verses in their live performances as other artists were lost. There's a nice live version that includes a tribute to Elvis, who was Bill's close friend, and to John Lennon, who they knew since they toured together in 1964.

Back in the day many artists had real love and appreciation for those that came before. There's a famous clip of The Rolling Stones getting Howlin' Wolf on a major television show. At that time many old bluesmen and women were, to most people, very obscure. I believe Muddy Waters said that the British Rock and Roll bands were responsible for reigniting many Blues careers.

Song was released in 1974. An earlier version was recorded by another group but never garnered any attention. Before this recording was made, the verse that mentions Jim Croce & Bobby Darin was added, very shortly after the 2 of them left us in late '73.

Just think of all the lines/verses that could be added now...Elvis, Freddie, Bonzo, Stevie Ray, Eddie, so many singers & musicians. To imagine a concert with all of them boggles the mind & delights the imagination.
And speaking of SRV sharing the stage, he was always so happy to be performing with the great Blues & Rock artists that came before him. Check out "Tin Pan Alley" with Johnny Copeland. Down & dirty Blues done right.

This tribute song was the last top 40 hit by the Righteous Brothers.
This duo was only one of many artists that did not survive the onslaught of the Disco Era of the second half of the 1970's!

They stopped touring and performing when Bill's ex-wife was murdered in 1976, and he took a few years to parent his son full-time. Their next top-10 charted song was Unchained Melody, back again after Ghost was released, in 1990. Likewise, their re-recording of UM as a single that year also charted in the top 20.

Gotta react to Cinderella, "Don't Know What You Got ", official video, and "Nobody's Fool", Live from Moscow 1989... Tom Keifer is the lead singer. He is INCREDIBLE VOCALLY, and plays one Hell of a guitar, which you will see in the Live from Moscow video. Enjoy this insanely good music!!!❤❤❤

Sorry man. The past isn't coming back. I've watched music for the past 50+ years and everything changes in unpredictable ways. You youngster reactors have managed to tap into bits of the past with some of us old farts getting a kick out of watching how surprised you are as how we lived in that past, and how we functioned. Too many digital tools available today? Anyone with the skill to do so can make music now. There's good and bad in absolutely everything I've ever experienced. We just need to see which out weighs the other. And that's subjective. Peace.
