I absolutely love the ID Buzz. Nice to drive and looks great, but I specced one and it’s £67k 😮 I’m going to have to stick with my T6.1. Looking forward to your mods.
It will be interesting to see what they are like on the second hand market. VW are confident they will hold their value well though as they are offering strong GFV's on PCP finance.
I test drove one a few weeks ago just out of curiosity… I was blown away by how good it was!! Personally I don’t think electric vehicles are the way to go… If the government are incentivising us then it’s the wrong decision. look how they (Gordon brown) encouraged us to buy diesel… now we are being told they are pollutant and we will have to pay a £12.50 daily charge to use them. Also whilst it might be cost affective now - Pay per mile will reel in the EV market and everyone else.
After waiting over 2 years for a caddy and having a Zoe for a few months i see the attraction of electric and the Buzz Cargo and could make 200 miles work for most trips and always looking for instavolt or Ospray for fast splash and dash. We have PPF kits for whole vehicle also so limit damage to expensive paint from chips and bushes down country lanes.
We've got our Buzz 1st Edition arriving very soon - literally the only thing we have a gripe about (so far, before having it sitting on the drive) is the lack of Multiflex board - and VW aren't giving us a straight answer on cost / whether the 1st Edition has the correct fittings for one. I'm a noob with these things! Would be really interesting if you did a short follow up video on the Multiflex board - or even comment here how you got on getting one retro-fitted! Not everyone's priority, but absolutely ours because it's the first step towards using it as a camper :-) Great video - the most useful video I've seen when it comes to range etc. Annoying about the wireless charger not working - I couldn't get the one in the show room to work either on my iPhone 13.
When you say multi flex board, is that the name for the shelf that comes in the rear of the other spec ID-Buzz car versions? If so i'll do some research on price and availability

My wife has had her Buzz since 2023-02-13, and in those 10 days, we have put on 107 km. It may not have needed charging, but we did plug it in once, to gain some experience. We learned that one has to remove the pistol within 30 s of opening the vehicle. We paid NOK 613 k for the vehicle, which was over twice as expensive as our previous vehicle, a 2012 Mazda 5. For us, in our mid-70s, range will never be an issue. The reason it was purchased was for its driving capabilities. We live in the country, with 13 km to the village, or 7 km - the wrong way - to an even closer grocery store. We don't want to move, and that means we should keep on driving for as long as it is practical. It helps when one sits up high, where one can see the road, and use tools such as dynamic cruise control, to ensure one does not crash into anything. Last year, we took three day trips, where the total distance driven on each trip was about 200 km. The Buzz should be able to handle that.

A couple of additional comments. First, we chose yellow because when we married 45 years ago, we rented a sunbrite yellow VW Rabbit in Canada for our honeymoon. We moved to Norway in 1980, two years after that. We tried to buy a 1992 Golf III in yellow, but the salesman advised against it, saying it would probably loose too much value. In the end we bought a red Golf, kept the car 14 years, then gave it away. Our Buzz does not have electric rear sliding doors, but the tailgate is electric, which is delightful. Instead of fitting the vehicle with a raised floor for NOK 7 500, we bought 6 SmartStore Pro 31 boxes, for about NOK 900. These comfortably fill the cargo/ baggage area, are solid, about the same height as the raised floor, and can be used to carry groceries when they are not being used to support a 120 cm wide mattress, for our afternoon naps, when we are away from home.
I cancelled my first edition a few weeks ago and so glad I did. It’s so poorly specced. No powered tailgate, or sliding door, plus lack of multiflex board is a disgrace at the price point. Still love the styling of this thing, but Volkswagen must try harder before I part with my pennies. Needs front swivels, rear sliding bench seat and aircon in the rear before I consider another, along with what I mentioned above.
@@THQAutomotive I visited the dealer last month, couldn’t change my first edition which seemed poorly specced compared to their demo van. Really disappointed, but knew it was the right decision to cancel and wait. Probably be Gen 2 in a few years before I contemplate another. Enjoy the van , they look great👍🏾
Andy the colour will look mint in the summer and the interior. Put it out in the countryside or on a beach. I like it dude. Even better than your moustache wax 🙂
Just bought a Euro T6 as I’m not keen on electric vans as I would to change three times on long trip..think there will be problems with electric vehicles regarding batteries etc ..at least I can keep,a gallon of diesel safely in my van
Sorry Peter, I feel we've let you down on the caddy. It seems to have been put on the back burning as we have some much other stuff coming along. I promise we will have a caddy update, I just can't say when at the moment.
Maybe these electric cars are best for closer journeys. Then if out and about and u need to charge it at a garage you could get a taxi home and pick it up laters lol
Having looked into it since this video, the charging network is a lot better than I originally thought. There are also 16 Tesla superchargers across the UK that charge none Tesla vehicles. You're right, it's not there just yet, but it is getting better all the time for sure.

Front row could have been 3 seats. Think it was a bit of a miss there.
Make sure Bilstein don't make the rear springs coilbound like the wanky transporter rears. Been through 4 pairs of rear b14 springs on my T6 in 100k miles, last set I picked up from you guys in person. Hopefully they do better on the Buzz.
So many springs on coilover run bound at the bottom part of the spring, across many manufactures and vehicle platforms. They are designed to do that as the active part is on the up stroke. The problem with the original B14 is the H&R spring. The Eibach version that we sell it a much better spring. These come on the B14 Komfort but we also sell them on their own. I've not know of any of these break and the same price is used on the Twin Adjust Projekt coilover too.

It is a great vehicle. I think the commercial cargo version is fairly priced compared to other electric vans. Especially with the £5k government grant.
Nope. There’s no way it’s big enough to convert to a camper. It will be like when you see a caddy converted lol. Colour looks good though. Uk is not geared up for electric yet. The battery chemistry needs to be better also. Ie cobalt. You watch joe rogan, you might have seen how they get this out the grd. Not great.
Yes I've listen to Joe's interview with Siddharth Kara, it's very interesting but disgusting that this is going on. As he says, it wouldn't take much for the big tech companies to right their wrong's on this though. EV's will always be there, just like we're not going to all stop using our mobile phones using the same cobalt. I'm aware of a few camper builds already in progress. No they aren't big but the compact size does suit some builds.

I've grown to love more and more as i use it. The government will no doubt find away to tax us for electric vehicles once more people own them.

The commercial version, the Buzz cargo, does come with 3 seats in the front so I'm sure it will become an option or could be retro fitted.

If you retrim the seats, change the I.D to H.Q.
