great job troubleshooting! I bought my C5 last night and got the check engine light today. this was my code I just scanned. personally I would have used heat shrink instead of duck tape for longevity.

Very good video. I’m going to check my car tonight. I guess the first thing to do is see if I’m getting air and then follow from there

Great job! Lots of patience and know-how. I just ran my OBD and the P0104 came up as (c) current and h (historical). The last time this happened I had a burned out fuse/sensor. But if that doesn't work I'll drop off the car and have you work on it. (wink)

Thank u so much for taking the time and making this video! I replaced my air pump and air still isnt flowing through my manifold, hoping this is my problem and i wont have to buy new check valves, even if it isnt its a step closer, thank you bro bro👊

@@livingchilling2217 there was no air going thru the vaccum line so i went under the wheel well where u found ur ripped vaccum line and mine looked fine so i cut it thinking maybe there was a vaccum leak somewhere else thru out the line but there was still no air flow coming out, would that mean my solenoid is bad ?

hey thanks for the info I think I am having the same problem. An extra piece of info that suggest such is that my a/c vents are on partially working .. If I am not mistaken the Sec Air Pump and the a/c vents are part of the same vacuum system..

you did good in finding that leak and repairing it, one thing I might do is replace the duct tape with some vinyl electrical tape it will not dry out over time, I find sometimes duct tape dries out and might start leaking again, we need that video on the goldens😊

    • @livingchilling2217
      @livingchilling2217  3 года назад +2

You are absolutely right! I think its the sticky part drys out and starts to fall apart. But I didn't had any at that moment 🥲😅 and here where we are living, the closest Home Depot or any other place that sells electric tape its like 45 mins away lol... but you are totally right I will replace it, maybe replace the line instead of fixing it!
I should've not give that advice actually, now that I think about it (fixing the vacuum line)
The correct thing should've been replacing the entire line, but I also thought about just getting rid of the check engine light, wait for a vid about how to replace that line in the future 🤣
🐶🐶🐶 Next video finally 🙌 i was looking for a nice day to hang out with them for a nice video, you'll like it!!

So glad you made this video, I got the p0410 code and I took the battery and battery plate out and there was the broken vacuum hose looking like a snake staring at me. I have to move truck to get tire off to access door in wheel well but I bet this solves my problem- 2000 C5 Coupe.

@@harryharry3193 yes, I found second line to HVAC also broken. Spliced them with silicone vaccum hoses and cleared the codes. Decided to replace fan while I had everything else opened up. Now works great. I switched to a sealed battery and cleaned and primered all the frame rails. Thanks

Picked up my C 5 last month and I have this code pop up today so I'm here searching and found you , helpful video as I now know where that line runs so I check that also as there is couple of three reason it seems for this code .

    • @livingchilling2217

Have you figure out what is the problem?? I would recommend you to do the troubleshooting before replacing anything, make sure the secondary air injection pump and the little check valve next to it is working by removing the upper tube from the upper check valve (driver side), make sure to do that when the engine is cold because that is the only time that pump works!
If you have air coming of the tube, then that means your problem is on one of the check valves.
Start by replacing the driver side one, is not complicated, see if the code is still there, if you still have it, then the passenger side check valve is your problem, that one is more complicated because you have to remove the intake manifold, ( i have a video replacing that check valve just in case)
Let me know what was it, or if you have any other questions!!!
      Thanks for the good vibes!!!

OK when I pulled off the rubber hose from check valve on driver side the hose is sucking not blowing air is that correct or should it be blowing air out ? Seems kinda weird to me as the check valve is sucking and the hose is sucking ?????

@@s.w.warbirds4126 😮😮 that rubber hose should be blowing air into the check valve!! Have you checked the fuse from the pump?? They are in the box next to the battery, is fuse Number 50, a 20amp big yellow fuse!

I had the same problem on my '01. I'm an ASE CMAT and fixing this was an absolute pain in the ass. The AIR control solenoid is in horrible place. It's inside the passenger fender skirt and to find it is a nightmare. These do go bad, yet buy 10ft. of 5/32 vacuum hose and reroute a new line. This was a stupid design from GM. Those hard plastic lines get brittle .and fail over time. Fix that and your good to go. Otherwise, replace the AIR control solenoid.
